Incredible movie, excellent video. Totally agree, every single performance was stellar, and, coupled with the writing and camera work, it never felt dull. I can understand the dislike for being a feature-length "bottle episode" (single-location story), but the film itself is so much more powerful and engrossing than that implies. Definitely worth more than one viewing
I assumed the color grading was a deliberate aesthetic choice to reflect the bucolic and simple ways of the Mennonites. To make their world seem visually despondent and "drab" for lack of a better word.
