      That warranty disclaimer is put there by lawyers to make him free of stupid people.. microtech pretty much will warranty work anything that happens to your knife... Sometimes if its obvious abuse theyll charge you for a new blade... Microtech is a good company made by a normal dude thats just like us .. knife and gun nerds

      blendtecBrah I scratched my Apple Watch once taking a bellhousing off a saginaw 3 speed and I’ve never put on a watch while wrenching after that. That scratch drove me nuts, I can’t imagine even the smallest scratch or blemish on watch the price of my freakin car

    Anthony is a master at putting an edge on with a contact wheel. He could do the same on a flat platen i'm sure, but with the curve of the wheel he can see the edge better.

      You're not supposed to wear gloves while using a grinder or during many machining operations. They might get caught on something, plus your touch sensation is very important when using the grinder. Eye protection should always be worn though.

    Anthony Marfione is a gangster....I think he's probably literally the most talented all around knifemaker in the world. There are a lot of talented makers in the world, but Anthony is the equivalent of Tiger Woods in the industry. It's amazing to watch him at work.

    What would that larger wheel be used for? Flat or hollow?

      Provides a real shallow hollow grind. If grinding a blade that was 3/4” tall it would be nearly a flat grind

      mrzisme It only takes one fraction of a second to make a mistake and get maimed no matter your skill lever. In fact, the more comfortable you get the more careless you get in general because of getting too comfortable and cocky. Oftentimes it's the beginners and pros who are most prone to making a mistake and getting hurt.

    I’ve been using my shop made 2x72 for 15 years and I would never; stand directly in front of the belt, not wear a respirator and not wear safety glasses. Belts can and do explode, things can catch, metal dust is bad on your lungs. Be smarter.

    No safety goggles, loose long sleeve shirt, loose watch and bracelets? This is a guy who's gotten real lax on his own safety. I think he's forgotten what can wheel that size and speed can do to the human body.

      That grinder is not going as fast as you think. He is doing an immediate repair on a knife at the most prestigious knife show in the world. Loosing sales while he is away, the job had to get done and done quick.

      If he let go of the knife, the worst thing it could do is put a slice in his shoe. As for the wheel itself, sandpaper won't do too much harm. His watched getting nicked would hurt more than a abrasion cut. If someone shoved him into the wheel, well then there's your problem.

      Andrea goss, he means that the guy is wearing things that could get sucked into the wheel. Like his long sleeve, I was concerned about that myself as he was reach over right next to the wheel to operate the power. You never wear long sleeves while operating a lathe and this is the same deal

      A lathe has spinning chuck jaws, a rotating leadscrew, handwheels, etc. This is just a big wheel. Although you are correct short sleeves are probably better, I highly doubt the way his sleeves are will pose a problem.

      Land lord dropped one of my tanto's on the tip of the concrete floor. Just put a diamond shaped hole in the concrete. Concrete should fear a knife not the other way around.@timmy _

      Dropping a heavy knife tip down o to concrete is going to do some damage. Especially to a thinly ground razor edge.
      I'd bet if I drop my Busse TGLB tip down into concrete, it'll be damaged.
      You've conflated fantasy and reality. There is no excalibur, just well executed tools utilizing premium materials and refined production methods. They will still break if abused.

    I like a very stiff blade I can’t stand movement and micro techs are not stiff!for 2 to 3 to 5 hundred bucks these things should be flawless but they aren’t!

      My Microtech Halo V is rock fucking solid, it's flawless. I couldn't believe when I got it how stiff and rigid the blade is when it is deployed, absolutely no play.

      There is plexiglass wall put up on the far side of the grinder by the walkway, it extends about 4" short of the outer most part of the contact wheel. They were thinking of peoples safety.
