2:45 correction. this was an unofficial "decompression" by a fan made around the time of the gigaleak. this was not the real original voice clip. he added in the higher frequencies by hand.
Yeah as mentioned with others who brought that up, it was a mistake which shows how one has to be super careful with audio files especially as they can be easily faked
It would make sense that at the early stage of SM64’s development, when Luigi was in the game still, there was no actual voice clips and only placeholder sounds that probably didn’t even resemble human voices. So I don’t think Luigi ever even had voice clips in SM64.
I thought these voice clips were real too...I always thought they sounded weird though, considering the leaked Luigi voice clips sounded like Luigi's voice today, while in the N64 era, he had way different voices in the N64 Mario Party games and Smash 64.
I swear that whenever someone tries to use the "But he had a different voice in the N64 era" as the reason the voice leaks are fake that they have never played Mario Kart 64, Mario Golf and Tennis, and Mario Party 3.
@@vegetafan9922 I've played Mario Kart 64, his voice still sounds different to today's Luigi voice. I think that was the first game to actually have voice clips for Luigi, so if that's the case then I'm guessing if he was in Mario 64, he would sound like how he does in Mario Kart 64. Which sounds different to modern Luigi.
No, western media such as the cartoons and Hotel Mario as well as Mario Kart 64 gave him a separate voice. It was just Smash 64 and Melee that used pitched up Mario.
IF Luigi were to have a voice at the time of SM64, it could've been possible that Charles Martinet wouldn't have even done it! After Mario 64, Mario Kart 64 was released, which features Luigi and Wario voiced by him (my favorite versions of them). However, in Japan, Luigi, Wario, and Toad had different voice actors completely, which were also in a rare game known as Mario Excitebike for SNES, and Mario Party 1&2 for all languages. Charles himself explained after Mario 64, Wario's voice came before Luigi's, and similar to Mario's creation, they were all through improv. He created them during an E3 Convention where he voiced animatronics with sensors hooked up to his face, live for people to talk to (similar to what he does to this day at Nintendo conventions when voicing digital characters live). Mario was already made from his famed audition, and Wario was similar to how we know him today. However, Luigi did not have an animatronic there, so when people would ask Mario (Charles) live at the convention 'Where's Luigi?!?", he came up with a genius improvisation. He would have Mario say "Let me see, Hey Luigi! The kids want to see you!". Without moving his own mouth so the sensors wouldn't go off so Mario wouldn't move his mouth (ventriloquism), he would have Luigi say "I'm shy Mario, I don't want to come out." Then, he would switch back to Mario and talk regularly. This not only added on to the emphasis of Luigi being shy, but caused Charles to speak as Luigi with a deeper and muffled pitch. Thus, creating the deep voiced Luigi we know and love today. In Super Smash Bros, they reused character voices that already existed in games, and since Luigi's Japanese voice actor at the time used a higher pitch, they went along with just speeding up the pitch of Mario's voice to use as Luigi's voice. Mario Tennis and Golf for 64 kept on with the deeper pitch of Luigi's voice, however, in Mario Party 3, and more notably in Super Mario Advanced, Luigi spoke with a bit of a higher, nasaly tone that we still hear today. I personally prefer the 64 era of deep pitched Luigi, because it gave him more of a serious and reserved characteristic which I feel has been lost throughout the years, focusing on the fact he is clumsy and scared all of the time. Overall, when recording for Super Mario 64, Nintendo and/or Charles Martinet could have gone with a different approach to Luigi's voice if they actually recorded it during this time. This can also be answered if we find out when Charles recorded the first voices for Mario in Super Mario 64, because this convention I mentioned as in 1996!
Damn, bravo for that essay. Amazingly complex history for Luigi's voice alone there. Yeah we might have indeed had. Different person voicing him if this happened. Also do you have a link for what you said or whereever I can look? I wanna read further on this as it's very interesting :)

64ify's TH-cam: th-cam.com/channels/RytwSvro8H0GoI-jL6g6cQ.html
I have that uncompressed so long gay bowser set as my text tone
This just comes to show why people need to do research before coming to conclusions. (Although I'm not mad at 64ify, I still think he and others should try to do more research instead of posting things immediately when they come out, out of pure excitement.)
I do agree and yeah 64ify and others made mistake unintentionally. It happens to the best of us. It's also why I usually don't cover this stuff so quickly after it's found out, but this was an exception and thus why we were hit with a bit of false news here.
So, luigi is speechless?
Right now yes since there was no dialogue found, but I imagine they had something planned
So cool
But they added Luigi in super Mario 64 ds
What binod

I thought it was legit but i also found the nature of these voice clips weird given the context of sm64 and how there was only 3 of them
I assumed these may have been a bit more unfinished but that would now explain it.
To everyone who says that it's obviously fake because Luigi had a different voice in the N64 era compared to the one he has now, I must ask. WHAT KIND OF UNIVERSE DO YOU LIVE IN?! HAVE NONE OF YOU PLAYED MARIO KART 64, MARIO GOLF, MARIO TENNIS, AND MARIO PARTY 3?!
So this is how Vegeta became a Super Saiyan :P I kid, I kid. I do agree it's not too off from what Charles Martinet still did later in the N64s life too
I Know How To Get The Textures And Model SOU Files
Speed is epic

I still can’t believe people keep going on about l is real
Repeated misinformation does that unfortunately. Hopefully this video assists in correcting things
GameXplain thought this was legit
Reputability 0
Wow even they thought so? And didn't even classify it a rumour? Lol
Ayo Moto what you doing at sm64 you are a bully teams

I knew it was "So long, gay Bowser!" -- The uncompressed audio totally confirms this.
Damn, Nintendo. You homophobes. Bowser isn't even gay. ;P
hold on, uncompressed so long gay bowser?
No, it was a hoax
answer me this question:
why dont you have more subscribers already lol
Well I have been on a rapid rise lately, so hopefully I will have a substantial amount eventually :)
The so long gay bowser clip is fan made
Yeah I realized that a little while ago. Gets tough to analyze audio legitimacy sometimes. Gotta be extra careful with audio from here on.
My name is Apple is it 🍎🤣🤣🤣🤣😐
L is real
Its sounds like gay but A stands out more
Yeah it's more slurred into sounding like "gay" when it's like more "So long-a Bowser"
