Amazing car with great handling and steering. The engine is the weak link when driving on public roads, it's hard to keep the turbo spooled up. On track it is great.

Most people be like: "Matt LeBlanc and Chris Harris are not bad Top Gear presenters, why did Top Gear fade in the shadow of The Grand Tour? The answer lies at 2:32 - Hammond still makes fun of May's OCD. It wasn't the cars that made Top Gear - it was three friends goofing out for the fun of it. It was more Car comedy and demolition derby than boring car journalism. It was introduced in Top Gear by Jeremy Clarkson and as he left, it left as well. No wonder why he is so smug right now.
I know he is British but Ferrari 458 came out waaay before 720s and it didn't have massive air intakes behind the doors. So this wasn't the first one Mr. Hammond!
I think this is the first McLaren that looks the part McLarens have always been fast but they didn't have the it factor of lambos and Ferrari's but the 720s has the McLaren speed and the it factor in spade's
The McLaren 720s has, as the name suggests, 720bhp. Which is interestingly the same as the Pagani Huayra which costs over 1 million bucks. The 720s can be had for a fraction of the price. I wonder how well the cars would do when pitted against one another. I bet the Huayra still has the better handling but damn, McLaren engineers really offer amazing power for low prices.
It would be interesting indeed to compare the 720's handling against the Huayra. McLaren has a long racing history, so I wouldn't bet against them, but the Huayra is a fabulous machine.
I am going to be lucky enough to drive one at Elvington airfield near York along with the Ferrari F430, Lamborghini Aventador, Aston Martin V8 Vantage Gen2 and the Mercedes AMG
It blows my mind that these cars are all over TX2k the passed few years. But not stock ones. Modded ones. WHERE THE FUCK ARE THESE PEOPLE GETTING THIS MONEY!?!?!?!
I think most of the manufacturers tend to release their press cars in LHD. I noticed this a lot on a lot of the initial reviews, especially British manufacturers like Aston Martin and Jaguar, and still register it in the UK. I think it makes it easier for the initial review to take place in other parts of the world than UK such as Europe and the America since the majority of the world's driving handedness is left. They'll only need to release a few press cars, ship it to anywhere the press is taking place, and not have to manufacture more than needed since they'll keep it anyways. It keeps the costs low for the I suppose.
@@stuartgibson9749 that's the only thing it's good at, they should've invested in brakes rather than all out speed that's why Teslas are overhyped, I'd take a Taycan or any other EV aside from a Tesla

The Performante does a 2.3 second 0-60, the 720s does a 2.5 and the Pista is all over the map but most say 2.7. The 720s is great and all but the Performante is just better, it’s quicker around a track, quicker to 60, and it sounds exponentially better.
The problem is in real life the 720S is in a different league in terms of straight line performance, 2.3secs or lower 0-60mph is possible with the 720S and also a 9s 1/4 mile time stock, lookwise I'd say it looks better than the Lambo but its subjective, also if you're going to compare a Performante track performance to this then it misses the point, 720S is the base road version, the track version 765LT will thrash a Performante around a track and anywhere else, sound maybe the N/A V10 sounds better I'll give you that but the performance the 720S brings is a different level, it beats 1000cc Superbikes in a drag race, Performante not even close.
ANTI FASCISM the 720S isn’t quicker to 60 than the Performante. The 720S does like a 9.9 in the quarter mile but that doesn’t relate to the real world at all. Looks are subjective and I think the Pista and the Performante look better than the 720S. The 765LT isn’t even a thing soooooo. There is a 600LT and a 675LT and the Performante is faster around a track than those too. Also those are completely undriveable on the road they are so harsh. The Performante is actually liveable.
