"PRICE" ... I did an event and decided to do (for the kids) PB&J $1.98 and a plain hot dog with just mustard $1.98 (this was 15 years ago)... and Parents THANKED me so they could buy the more expensive stuff... that the kids wouldn't eat anyway... but they could buy something the kids would eat and it was cheap... I made a lot of money because the parents could buy their kids something the kids wanted PB & J or a plain hot dog... for $1.98...
Now days I might charge $2.98 each... worth it.
thank you for the thoughts about the kids items. i am in process of lauching my food truck and i have focused on similar thoughts.. feed the kids and you will feed the parents...

Couldn't agree more...provide the customer a great experience and they will return. Where would you buy your burger and fries ?...from the truck that has a good product and friendly customer service ..or..at a place that treats you like you're an inconvenience ?

food trailers can be a better starting unit because many food trucks if there is a mechanical issue and needs repair you are out of business short term but a trailer is simply hitch and go!

There is SOOOOO many times... where I would Not have bought a certain food, if I had not been given a sample...
There is 88% chance that the person you give a sample too... will not only buy your product/food, but tell at least 3 other potential buyers how NICE it was to get a "Free" sample.
Yes... everyone should figure the cost of the sample they're giving away...
NOTHING is Free...
Someone has to pay for it.
this is something we have done and works very well.. people will part with their money if they know it is worth it.

I am in dominica
Our apartment complex gets food trucks to come once a week or so and I quit buying from them. All of the food trucks have had bland, very expensive food. It’s really turned me off from food trucks. I am fairly picky to be honest though I love to cook so I can be critical but I can honestly say I would rather go to McDonald’s then to eat at 90% of the food trucks we have had.
Mcds is cheap for a reason.. 🤢Most of the time food trucks are spendy because they usually have fresh ingredients and it’s a lot of work to prep that they do on their own. Plus the gas for the truck and taxes to keep a business going.. it all costs money to provide you “home cooked” food. Fast food is garbage and who knows what grade meat your getting.
@@Anne1000. Yeah but its not bland and over priced. None of the food trucks that have come here have been good. They have all been expensive though. The last time I had wings from one of the trucks they were dry and bland same as the caribbean food. Not putting down all food trucks just 99% of the ones ive tried.

@@Anne1000. Yeah I wish the ones we had stopping by were better. I don't mind paying for good food. I love to cook it's a huge passion of mine so I'm not against food trucks. I actually thought about starting one. There's a taco place near me that used to be a food truck that has some pretty good tacos and they are always busy.
@@directx3497 you should! My sister just opened hers and making a lot of money. We are more a tourist location, but she gets many locals coming through. It’s vegan. Everything is basically fish her catches. 84 customers today!
