I have had a pair of these for six years at least. Mine are all eyelets, smaller welt, color matched stitching with white as center stitch of triple stitching only. They held up remarkably well, possibly of better quality than more recent offerings. Excellent for The Money.
These boots would look a lot better if the lace to toe ratio was less. It makes the front part of the boot look odd to me. If they just added 1” or 1-2 laces more towards the toe would make all the difference. But I’ve found a place online that sales the 8” thorogood moc toe for $130 shipped and for $30 more the thorogood is the way I’m going. But the golden fox boots do look to be good quality
If you had to choose between the Thorogood Moc Toe boots you reviewed and these Golden Fox ones, which would you go with? I've never owned a pair of Moc Toes and I'm looking to get the right ones on the first try. Both of them look promising. I work in a very hot climate in the US though, so I'm trying to keep that in mind when it comes to comparison as well. Great review videos though, I appreciate the time you take to make them. Thanks!
Granata Gaming I’m a big fan of the thorogood moc toe. I actually prefer them over my redwings . Their absolutely the most comfortable I own and I own a bunch of boots.

They're my after work boot, a quick brush ing keeps them looking Sharp. Greatly impressed with the quality and price. The fit was perfect; out the box; no problem' excellent"
Since you like American moc toe work boots, particularly with the white, blown outsole, you might take a look at Need Supply's web site right now. They have some Alden Indy boots with that style of sole (not a standard Alden offering) and, at the moment, a discounted price.
Thanks, would like to give Aldens a try, I think I would go with the leather (or part leather) Indys, a true classic! After shipping and tax it is not always the best deal from US site for us in the UK!
I'm not aware of a leather-soled Indy. I have the 405 and 40557, and both have blended cork/rubber outsoles. Even the Cordovan Indys that I've seen have rubber soles.
My boots arrived form Ever Boots , not from Golden Fox . I purchased the dark brown. The box was cardboard and no info on box. Anyway my feet are 12” so I ordered size 13. They fit exceptionally well but the sole is irregular in the heel area on both boots. That’s 1/8” thicker sole so when you walk it’s difficult to take a step and not feel a normal stride. Also the soles are crooked so they will wear out on one side more than the other. I will have to buy insoles as the insoles provided are junk , so another $20 so that brings the boots $ 100 . You can get other moc toe boots that are well known manufacturers for $100-$130 . These boots are made in China and Golden Fox claims they are USA made , anyway they are $40 boots costing $80. You can also go to Big 5 and get a cheap boot like this on sale for $39-$40.

Well I was planning on traveling to Ontario CANADA and when I called to book the ticket I was excited because the price was so low till the agent said "oh this flight is Ontario,CA not Ontario Canada hahahahaha.
Love your channel. I bought those Golden Fox boots based on your review and I received over the weekend. They are nice looking boots, but they have a plastic smell to them for being genuine leather. Do you remember your boots smelling like that?
I was going to get the thorogoods, but ended up getting these for half the price (after shipping + tax). First of all i was surprised by the quality of the leather, id put it in the middle between my grensons and trickers, nice and thick, but supple. Not as premium feeling as the trickers, but more than good enough. Pretty comfy straight out of the box. I wear a uk 10 in grenson/trickers, 10.5 in clarks/new balance. I got these in us size 10.5 and they fit like my grensons/trickers. The only negative i have really is that the welt stiching is a bit messy.
+DevonReviewer I work doing landscape maintenance on the weekends, so it would be that but general wear. I have some iron rangers that I use casually but always try and keep clean!
These aren't in the same league as the Thorogood boots! For another 75 bucks, the Thorogood boots blow these completely away! Thorogood boots are Union made in the USA!! Enough said!
I can’t believe you stick with your normal size with Red Wing boots. In every video I have watched every one seems to down size. RW aren’t true to size.

Had a look on their website and I like the look of the boondockers. Very impressive prices compared to the competition.

Probably the soles, as they are a PU foam I think, they wear well though.

Nice choice, they have a very wide toe box, which means sizing down as you have is beneficial.

The leather and sole were surprisingly good in the pair that I owned. Everything else about the boot was as expected given its price.
What can I do with sizing ??? Because I'm size 8 in vans for example
