- In this video I will explain some of the more common questions the tester may ask you before your driving test. These important questions will help you prepare for your theory test as well as your actual practical driving test and they will be explained by me in clear and simple language along with pictures to help.

Hi Dane. Thanks so much for your videos. They have been incredibly helpful. I have a US license but the rules of the road are so different here (and in a manual, nonetheless) so I really needed to revise a lot prior to my exam and your videos were a godsend. Hi Dane , doing my test Thursday ( tomorrow) found your videos while I was watching something else on TH-cam, I was so happy to find your videos 💯 and just when I needed to ! Unfortunately the driving school I’m with I won’t recommend / or mention as I’m with them since before lockdown and paid upfront for my lessons and a pre lesson day of test , and now they are telling me they don’t have a driver available to come in MY car with me for a practice test!! I finished my lessons with them 4 months ago.. only had 2 left .. so I’m very disappointed that they didn’t come with me to do the route ( I’ve been going myself with a full license driver with me of course) the past few days, I’m driving years but stopped driving 10 years ago lost my license 🤦♂️ I’m back driving 2 years now , and have my own suv which I’ll be doing my full test in , feel so much confident now 💯

I'll be applying to get my Irish Drivers Licence at 54yrs old. It's been over 15 yrs since I last drove when in the States. Watching this video made me realise that I remember more than I originally thought I did. I'll be watching more of your videos Tyghe

Hi passed my test today in Dun Laoighre 6 G2s, your videos were a great help especially the turning right at traffic lights yellow/green arrows vs full green etc which I was always a disaster on, also moving forward into boxes vs waiting to turn. Videos were also a great help whenever feeling anxious and wanting something to study to feel like I was doing something to prepare, Thanks!

i have my theory test in oct and i have been passing alot but today was not my day as i failed my mock test 8 times😢 but i watch ur videos and it helped me alot is just maybe today is my offday but thank you for ur help dane

So at a crossroads if there is no lines or markings on them. I just imagine that they are there. And then take off on where I want to go on it? And when using the fog lights I'll have the dipped ones on to. To not blind the on coming drivers. And overtaking someone I only can do that when there are? Short broken white lines in the centre of the road. And Yeald is like the stop to.

I started driving almost a month ago but i still have a problem with smoothly changing the gears,when i go from 1 to 2,3,4 my car jerks too much!! What could be the problem Dan can you tell me!!

Are you allowed to over take a cyclist on a continuous white line on the driving test if safe to do so?
Yes as long as its safe, it's fine to cross the white line if dealing with an obstruction

If the car doesn't roll back once the handbrake is up fully and in neutral gear then we can safely assume it's working.

No you should most likely be stopping in 2nd, then once you have stopped put it in 1st gear

I have a question.
I’ve watched your videos and I know you’ve said “a good confident driver wouldn’t need to”, but am I allowed to adjust my left mirror for reversing around the corner? Will I get a mark for it? If so, what type of mark could I get?
I have my test soon, and reversing around a corner is my only downfall, I either take it way too wide or not wide enough every time.
You won't get marked for it to the best of my knowledge, try judging the corner by analysing how sharp it is, the sharper it is then the more likely you will have to turn quicker.
Yes you are. My instructor specifically makes sure I put the mirror down before reversing around a corner
Just because you're allowed do something doesn't make it right. I prefer to create good drivers with good habits as opposed to drivers who take expedient short cuts.
@@DaneTygheletsdrive isn’t it the opposite of a short cut. Takes longer but makes the job easier and potentially safer no? Would be better off getting used to doing it without a mirror change though in the end

Reverse close to a window and ensure that the brake lights are working, or ask somebody to help you

Hey I am just wondering how many questions are you asked and how many do you have to answer correctly :)
You'll be asked about 5 or 6, you don't have to get a minimum score but the more you answer correctly then the better it will be for you.

Apply it on a hill, car in neutral, if it doesn't roll back then it's working.

What's the answer?
I didn't know the answer, I just told her to do it in a dark time or a place that doesn't have good lighting.
If you're in the hairdressing game then I'm not sure about deep highlights but on the off chance you're talking about dipped headlights then you use in darkness, fog, mist, rain, facing oncoming cars at night following cars at night. Plus a few more.

No, not on their own. But you could lose a mark that may possibly lead to an accumulation of marks that cause you to fail overall which would be regrettable.
