The IAF projected a requirement for about 126 aircraft in 2001, when the strength was at 39.5 squadrons (down from 45) and..................... RFI for MRCA was put out in 2001...............
Only reason we should go for a new aircraft type for MRFA is if we get a 5th gen jet. I would suggest going for 72 rafeal, and pouring all extra funds into tejas mk2 development so it can be delivered on time (better if it can be fast tracked)
You will need to Overhaul them, Engine ka fir panga hoga. They use Rolls-Royce EJ200 engines (Tranche 1 Block 5). Plus it would then require India specific adaptations. Radar is old, you will try to put an AESA radar on it. It has an inbuilt IRST, that might be a saving grace but it will not be worth it, for sure. All your Indian made missiles will have to be paired with this. You wont be able to use the meteors that you bought for the Rafales with this... so you'll have to purchase AMRAAMS and Sidewinders from USA... By which you're again stuck in the supply chain delays. The Eurofighter Typhoon is the same category as your Rafale, whats the bloody point of operating two platforms of the same type? This is again like buying F15s. stupid stupid idea, given you already have a massive fleet of su30mki. overhaul them, bring them up to contemporary standards. we even manufacture the bloody engines for Su30s
We should actually buy Gripen tbh. Tejas MK2 and Gripen E are similar. If they are ready to give access to mission computer code and integrate our radars and subsystems and give 100% TOT on their end we should not in that case spend our time making an Indian Gripen rather focus resources and time in AMCA
Going with Saab's Gripen E, in my opinion will be a compromise. Can we confidently say that we will have an upper hand even while dealing with F-16 block 70? Unfortunately situation is not conducive to take F15eX. so, may be take a risk and go for Su-57 or even Su-75.
When Pakistan is going for 5th generation aircrafts, gripen-e which has capabilities in between tejas-1a and tejas-mark-2 again the indigenous tejas-mark-1a which is facing supply chain issue with ge-404 engines and what is the guarantee that gripen-e which also uses ge-414 engines would not face the same supply chain issues as we are already stuck up with GE engines for tejas-mark-1a and possibly with tejas -mark-2 why make the same mistake again by going for gripen-E.
Tejas only exists on paper. It's better to buy an aircraft that actually exists, has been tested, deployed, purchased by another country (Brazil). Tejas program needs to be scrapped. It's a massive waste of resources. The HAL contract should be cancelled completely. And let SAAB start a production facility in India.
@@AB-yn2rz problem is with the GE engine, now presently tejas-mark-1a is struck up due to GE supply chain issue, tejas-1/ 1a is not in paper but already 40 tejas-1 is flying even tejas-mark-1a is also flying and saab gripen-E again has GE Engines.
As far as ge-414 production line in India it is not even in paper because till date no agreement for any production line for ge-414 engines exists in India, still negotiations are on between GE official and indian defence related institutions officials for TOT and starting of production line in India , till date ONLY an MOU(MEMORANDUM OF UNDERSTANDING) was signed between India and USA few years back to EXPLORE the possibility of ToT and production line for ge-414 engine but TILL DATE no firm agreement or deal has been reached for either TOT(TRANSFER OF TECHNOLOGY) or production of GE 414 engine india so as far production line for Ge-414 engine is concerned TILL TODAY'S DATE DOES NOT EXIST EVEN IN THE PAPER as no firm agreement has been signed till date.
@@sigma-sigma1 Even the 83 mk1a order isn't complete and another order for 97 more aircraft was given. At least that should be scrapped. And the gripen will have the GE-414 that is licence produced in Sweden and India will produce it soon. The best course is to go for Gripen while scrapping the Mk2 at least along with the 97 additional orders of Mk1a. Let's end it with 83 at max.
@@AB-yn2rz the fulfilment of 83 tejas -mark-1a has not even started because till date not even single tejas-mark-1a has been handed over to IAf ONE AMONG THE important reason is delay in supply of GE engines.
If you look in the past Gripen fighter jets of Sweden have successfully challenged the Russian inventory ,they come with class avionics, radar and electronics, situational awareness,European armaments that are of same type as used in Rafael ,its turn around time is less ,less on maintenance and importantly they are willing to up your skill set and infrastructure it will help home grown Tejas as well the threat is real with China and Pakistan.Pakistan have AWACS of Sweden supplied by SAAB and advent of Gripen in India will counter them easily and if they go for Chinese AWACS it will raise cost and inventory, by buying Gripen you strategically counter their AWACS then Chinese J 31 does not pose much of an(immediate) challenge if you can detect them fast though later we can negotiate with the Russians , Americans for 5th generation or we can become part of fighter jet development programme of Britain's Tempest and we also need sea planes that can be from Japan as first Choice second can be Russians which will be cost effective for Navy to meet varied Challenges,we also need AWACS most of them being sleek not Bulky as proposed on Boeing Platforms and evidently wish list of dire need is big say trainer fighter aircraft , your big inventory of Drones and countermeasures , helicopter fleet,Missiles, guided bombs and rockets...
One word answer: Yes. Not as expensive as Rafle but it's not a slouch either. At least much better then the Russian fighters we have. We can't get F-16 cause Pakistan already have them. So if we can't get more Rafale this is the next best deal.

Engine aircraft then what's the point supply chain issue same hoga GE will only make 30 engine max If we look that way we can just make body of Tejas and then later after we recieved new engine we will put it in the all readymade aircraft body in 5 yr we will see same results
Gripen ek ideal option ho sakta hai for IAF. Pak Qatar ke Rafale ke saath train kar reha hai.. PAK ke paas FC-31 started inducting.. and Upar sae very big PLAAF.. that is why Gripen agar IAF aa jaye toh surprise package ho jayega for PAK and PLAAF.. Single jet hai and easily scramble kar sakte hain agains enemies.
it may be Surprise for PAF but PLAAF is conducting exercises regularly with Royal Thai Air Force and RTAF is using Gripens. "The RTAF and People’s Liberation Army Air Force (PLAAF) have conducted a joint exercise known as Falcon Strike five times since 2015 during which Thailand deployed Saab Gripen Cs against advanced Chinese Chengdu J-10s and Shaanxi KJ-500 airborne early warning aircraft. In 2022, Thailand also used German-made Dassault/Dornier Alpha Jet light attack aircraft." from Aviation Week website article published on July 19 2023.
Tight now we have every technology that can be replaced in saab griphen E aircraft Weather it be Aesa radars Air to air missiles RWR, Jammers, and now local production of GE F414 engines as well
MRFA are for aircrafts which can can heavy payloads and can strike much deeper then Tejas mk2 for comparison, Gripen is as good as mk2, but not in the segment IAF is looking for.
Honestly after Rafael most suitable fighter jet is gripen e for iaf but question is when will we going to initiate the whole process we are hearing this from eternity now, while our navy is quick in decision making where as our iaf is working in snails pace other than mrfa ,mta ,awacs , refuling aircarft tendors are still pending only god knows when we going to conclude them.
Getting a same fighter with equal capabilities like the MK2 makes no sense at all. If price is an issue, it's better to go for Mig 35 with complete TOT including Engine tech and inclusion of desi tech like Radars, SPJ, Astras, etc. It will be cheaper per unit than Gripen infact.
I disagree, Rafal 115 million ,extra 35 million is for extra engine and more payload. two engine will affect you flying cost, so its not much diff. Rafale got more fuel, longer range, better payload and less geopolitics
Kya Bakchodi krte ho, lena hai tho rafale ya F35 lo, kyuki single engine tejas mark 1a, tejas mark 2 ko mass produce, India bhi krr sakta hai lekin twin engine TEDBF aur AMCA ko time 10 years lagega.
@@Olivegreen-p8t Kaunsi duniya se aaye ho bhai ? F-35 is not even made to be a dogfighter but a literal flying super computer with highest situational awareness in the world of fighter jets. Even it's design suggest that it is meant for BVR engagements and deep strike missions in enemy territory. However, the platform is so much sophisticated that it is so difficult to maintain and comes with restrictions by the US.
Though im not a defence expert nor directly concerned with Indian military interests but even I can analyze that this cannot be the one for IAF, as I have been observing the trends, likes and preferences, IAF cannot choose an option which itself is dependant upon US and EU techs, so in a nutshell, KA-50 can be a better option for IAF as it is created by primarily a single source.

It's proved that IAF does not happy with low quality Tejas fighter jet, that's why try to acquire single engine fighter jet like Gripen...
The channels information is so wrong he's comparing Gripen with typhoon n rafale, they're superior fighters than Gripen, Gripen is comparable to F16s
As an Indian i deeply concerned with the human and women rights in India 😊
As a dålla hu akbar i deeply concerned with the 6 year old and pedo muhammad
The IAF projected a requirement for about 126 aircraft in 2001, when the strength was at 39.5 squadrons (down from 45) and..................... RFI for MRCA was put out in 2001...............
Only reason we should go for a new aircraft type for MRFA is if we get a 5th gen jet.
I would suggest going for 72 rafeal, and pouring all extra funds into tejas mk2 development so it can be delivered on time (better if it can be fast tracked)
British airforce is retiring 200 eurofighter typoon of tranche 1 ...which has 25 yesrs left ....we should buyit
25 saal purane hi retire karne lag gye we
You will need to Overhaul them, Engine ka fir panga hoga.
@@bonecracker97 F 15 are much better than su 30mki .
Gripen is perfect choice for iaf
We are waiting for MRFA deal for the past 10 years & still counting. God knows when it is gonna happen.
MRFA is not gonna happen
State of Indian defence TH-camrs is farcical at this point 😂
Su-57mki it's a best and a beast for J-20 and j-31
We should actually buy Gripen tbh. Tejas MK2 and Gripen E are similar. If they are ready to give access to mission computer code and integrate our radars and subsystems and give 100% TOT on their end we should not in that case spend our time making an Indian Gripen rather focus resources and time in AMCA
MRFA will be distant dream ,कुछ खवाब पुरे नहीं होते भाई
This MRFA is like Indian urban legend....
Going with Saab's Gripen E, in my opinion will be a compromise. Can we confidently say that we will have an upper hand even while dealing with F-16 block 70? Unfortunately situation is not conducive to take F15eX. so, may be take a risk and go for Su-57 or even Su-75.
The biggest problem with Swedish system is their constant supply of AWACS systems to Porkistaan
Bhai hum to ye 10 -12 sal se MRFA deal ko sun rahe h ho jaye tab video bana dena 15 -20 sal to lag jayenge tab tak 😂
Tejas is the final solution to MRFA 😜
Too good to be true.
Can we have a comparison of gripes e with rafale
Rafael is better and it’s not even a debate
four patriot system destroyed by Iskander strike😃😃
SAAB Gripen E will cannibalize the scope of sales for Tejas MK II.
100 tejas mark 1a
200 tejas mark 2
No need of MRFA, Till then buy two squadrons of Rafale or F35
Go for Rafales not F 35
ok , yahan 1 tejas mk1a ma hal ko maut aa rahi ha itne tejas dene ma toh unko sadiyan lag jayengi
That means we have to wait till 2075 for these fighters
2080...aa jayega...
Bhai aaj kitchen mein pressure cooker chal raha tha kya
One word answer: Yes. Not as expensive as Rafle but it's not a slouch either. At least much better then the Russian fighters we have. We can't get F-16 cause Pakistan already have them. So if we can't get more Rafale this is the next best deal.
Gripen is better than f16 but better tham russian jets we have? Try gripen in front of su30 💀
Makes sense.
When engine issue is sorted out by local assembling of GE f-404,and if radar is concerned Uttam AESA radar can easily substitute gripen's radar.
Matrix I have been a regular viewer of your channel since past 2 year. I think that you should take a look at channel " Task and purpose" his content in field of military discuss about array of topics. I hope you will take this into consideration.
Your work is pretty good.
Acceptance of necessity , RFI , DAC ,ccs bhai itna me to 20 years lagage or Tejas Mk2 v grippen se acha h
While Grippen E makes economic sense but would be humiliating to Tejas Mk 2 program and Indian engineering
But if we aquiried single. Engine aircraft then what's the point supply chain issue same hoga GE will only make 30 engine max
If we look that way we can just make body of Tejas and then later after we recieved new engine we will put it in the all readymade aircraft body in 5 yr we will see same results
काहणा तो नही चाहीये पर इस समय भारतीय वायुसेना बहोत मजबूर दिखाई दे रही हे
Tight now we have every technology that can be replaced in saab griphen E aircraft
Weather it be Aesa radars
Air to air missiles
RWR, Jammers, and now local production of GE F414 engines as well
Considering Gripen is acknowledging failure of Tejas MK1 and MK2. Gripen C is similar to MK1 and Gripen-E to Tejas MK2!
Gripen Saab uses the GE 404 engine if Saab has its own fighter jet engine most likely will qualify for a make-in-India contract.
AON, RFP hi nahi hua hai abhi tak to, gajab ke log hai bhai
Vayu Aerospace will have best day of their life 😂
MRFA are for aircrafts which can can heavy payloads and can strike much deeper then Tejas mk2 for comparison, Gripen is as good as mk2, but not in the segment IAF is looking for.
Astr3 test? 22th😮August to 23rd August Notam 365 km.
Not enough money to give Naidu...how to allocate for MRFA ?!!
There are some news about the Possible rollout of PF-X / JF-X, what do you think is it the upgrade of JF-17 or a license Copy of J-31/FC-31,.
Bhai.. Mat la mrfa ka news. or IAF k official nalle hai. N ya bana skte h n kharid sahi time se.
I disagree,
Rafal 115 million ,extra 35 million is for extra engine and more payload.
two engine will affect you flying cost, so its not much diff.
Rafale got more fuel, longer range, better payload and less geopolitics
Kya Bakchodi krte ho, lena hai tho rafale ya F35 lo, kyuki single engine tejas mark 1a, tejas mark 2 ko mass produce, India bhi krr sakta hai lekin twin engine TEDBF aur AMCA ko time 10 years lagega.
Nhi kar skta na ...america engine nhi derha hai....f35 ghnta dega
F 35 Mai to poora Pakistan aajayega 🙂🫠

F-35 is not even made to be a dogfighter but a literal flying super computer with highest situational awareness in the world of fighter jets. Even it's design suggest that it is meant for BVR engagements and deep strike missions in enemy territory. However, the platform is so much sophisticated that it is so difficult to maintain and comes with restrictions by the US.
@@SpiderWuss69420 against whom we require deep strike ??? And by deep strike means >500km into enemy territory...
Flight of 4.5 gen jets has been missed 20 yrs ago.
Now if they are going to import something.. It would be 5th gen jet.
Be it F35 or Kf21 Boramae. They r waiting for US general election. Only Trump can take such decision..
Engine depends on usa . If it fr deal Tejas delay . we . must go for rafael which reduce logistics cost
MRFA is not happening. Even if they start process now the delivery won’t happen before Tejas MK2 available. So better they scale up Tejas MK2 infrastructure
11 years tadipaar and jumleshwar couldn't formalize fighter jet deal as commissions dint get finalized.
what if India buy gripen without their radar and irst sensor and integrates our own sensors as we are developing sensor for Tejas and amca. it will keep cost down and also increase indigenization and it have been done in past in case of jaguars?
Comparison should be with LCA TEJAS.. AND whar India will do if USA question on GE engine they can put pressure on India through choking supply lines to Sweden when subject comes to engine related spare parts and after sale service
Buy 36 Rafale + 36 SU 57
And buy either SNECMA M88 or EJ 200 with IP right for Tejas Mk2.
Rafale is twin engine aircraft, so more reliable it is.
We should get Rafael even if it is a little pricey with tot, make in India. With Rafael we have more chance to get assembly line in India

Had PAF funds like IAF, they would have procured F35a and F16s Block 70 by now.. Instead of wasting time
Batter to go with France and decrease the invest cost on engine.
Yes it will deliver late but......
Biggest problem with Gripen is not it's foreign parts but Tejas MKII. Same timeline. Why not buy more capable fighter at that same timeline, unless we are not sure about Tejas MKII's effectiveness..
Cuup hoo Jaa gaddar just shut up abbya mk2hamara appna hai aur gripen natto county kaa engine American hai
This would completely discredit the Tejas program! In what world can IAF buy the Swedish Gripen while ALSO developing Tejas 1 and 2?
GRIPEN KO LENE SE TEJAS MK-2 KO BANANE MEIN BHI HELP MILEGI.
We need fighters. That too fast! MRFA should be out top priority.
