Well this project has seen many phases. It has been in RFP several times. The main problem with this project is IAF not able to decide and prove their requirements. We are confused about this project for so long. Many times what we wanted (like transfer of tech, local production etc), we could not get from our vendors and in that case the entire process has to be done from the beginning. But now the dilemma is that PAF is about to procure J31(5th gen fighter) so should India procure 4.5 gen fighters through MMRCA aur to focus on 5th gen fighter through AMCA project only. Believe me the choice and decision is very complicated for this project.

Dassault has changed their thinking and what they were saying before winning the first tender. They are making things difficult and want much more money and placing clauses which does not suit India. India cannot simply wait and wait and slowly progress their home grown fighter program leaving a huge gap in squadron numbers. India should get at least 2 squadron of Eurofighters right away and go for another 5 squadrons on make in India program with deal for all future upgrades to be incorporated in rest of the squadrons. India has been very happy with previous purchase of British fighters including Jaguars that have served them well. Dassault has changed their thinking and what they were saying before winning the first tender. They are making things difficult and want much more money and placing clauses which does not suit India. India cannot simply wait and wait and slowly progress their home grown fighter program leaving a huge gap in squadron numbers. India should get at least 2 squadron of Eurofighters right away and go for another 5 squadrons on make in India program with deal for all future upgrades to be incorporated in rest of the squadrons. India has been very happy with previous purchase of British fighters including Jaguars that have served them well. The Eurofighter (best of British and Germany) will be the game changer for India and time to say no to Rafale and STOP WASTING MONEY ON SUPER EXPENSIVE RAFALE. EUROFIGHTER can beat Rafale in every aspect.

We lost race to make 5th generation fighters jets, even if start today will take 10 to 15 Years to get working 5th generation fighter planes. By that time world would have moved towards 6th generation planes, jnstead IAF should buy 5th fighter and start working on 6th generation fighters😢
Mrfa is dead project instead of concentrating on mrfa we must buy 3 or 4 squardons of rafale or atleast buy kf21 and 6 to 8 squardons of tejas mk2 depending upon trails and concentrate more on amca fighter jets 300 to 350 and start a development of sixth generation fighter jet for the replacement of 4th generation fighter jet after 2055 or 2060.
Bharat should focus on swadeshi engine rather then buy weapon from other nation because for now we have perfect match to counter both Pakistan and china.
