From what I've seen, the only decent Stunners to use against the Thing are: 1st- Occultist (200%) 2nd- Crusader / Houndmaster (185%) 3rd- Abomination / Man-at-Arms (175%) Bear in mind, that they only stand a decent chance to stun IF you equip their best stun trinkets, which is how I got those percentages. Edit: The Thing only gets its higher speed from the buff this strategy attempts to disrupt. Because of this, it is very important to actually have a slower speed stunner, and why the Crusader may actually maybe the top choice for this encounter.
I'd argue the two best characters for it are Occ and Crus, Occ purely from a numbers standpoint and Crus because he can consistently go after Thing's second turn.
@@thickveinysausage3062 Oh yeah, I get what you say. Having lower speed is super important in order to to stun him on the right turn. I'll add that to my comment. :)
Technically it's not a "bug". Just a strategy that I don't think people have ever thought about xD The fight is made so that the Thing applies his buff after using Return to the Stars for the first time. If you never let him do that though... Then you don't have to deal with the annoying buff xD
@@juanfernando4686 This. Shieldbreaker is good, but depending on your hero comp, it might be a good idea to bring out a Graverobber with melee trinkets and Shadowfade. After all, you aren't guaranteed finding the Thing, so having a Graverobber helps with scouting.
@@KRIMZONMEKANISM I generally use the ancestor's map and it almost guarantees scouting at radiant light Also you are almost guaranteed to finding the Thing in a medium/long dungeon if you go to enough hallway fights And idk, personally I just love shieldbreaker haha :)
@@juanfernando4686 Don-t get me wrong, so do I. I think it's straight up the most versatile damage dealer in the game. I once had one that was godlike cuz she had amazing melee damage and crit quirks. And then she got Hot to Trot and was consistently killing a single oponent at the start of the round.
I've never played the game and thought the title read: "You can stop Thing from the Stars BY using Return to the Stars" And thought that you could use some obscure attack or buff to one hit KO some annoying sub boss or something. Still entertaining to watch though, seems like important info for taking down the guy.
Are we going to ignore the fact that the leper is named Chad Thundercock?
What else would he be named?
thats what happens when you don't use protection kids
Once I had Man at arms with three diseases (each making him more prone to catching more diseases) so I named him Patient 0
pretty sure he was used to solo the heart of darkness
Old news
I am kind, always letting him to go home.

woah, so he never gets the buff this way? nuts
-5 speed crusader for the win
Ive been playing this game for ages now yet I didnt manage to find this bug. This guy has always been a pain in the ass so thanks a lot.

If you are hunting for the thing I'd recommend bringing one or two shield breakers, they can pierce prot so the fight it really easy :)

I mean, it's either seeing stars or birdies after this strategy. So technically, yes?
Thick flexing
So hard that my screen cracks
woah you can actually make it semi bearable fight? that's insane, thanks for the video
Nice jobb Thick, I like how u also explain how it works!
I got the DLC a few months ago and fought this thing once and only once before, 1 Vestal, 3 Crusaders. All level 1 in the ruins.
R.I.P. Crusaders
another way to make this happen is to use 3 graverobbers and all using that shadow hide thing
stealth you mean
@@mini-spooder101 The ability is called Shadow Fade, but yes, it gives her a 2-turn stealth. :)
I've done it with a Plague Doctor, somehow.
I encountered him, collector, and the fanatic in one mission, how’s your day going?
wow, tat was just flawless, nice job
Wow. This is super helpful
and here i was thinking that all automatic actions ignore stuns
Wonder if stunning the cannon would prevent "Reinforcements!"
Yea, but i sure can't stop him from spitting 5 times in row on my bouty hunter to get him from 0 stress to afflicted in 3 turns....
Bruh the Stun its to Prevent it to buff itself so you get less Damage and kill it Faster
How did you know he was gonna spawn there? Since you use food and buff befofehand
Encountered him and retreated
Chad thundercock
Damn thats really clever, but kinda feels like abusing a bug/oversight
Never fought this mini boss yet, how do you know it will be there, I saw you pre buffing.
I suppose he ran into it and the fled the fight to start the recording
how'd you know it was the encounter in the corridor? is there a tell/sign?
No we can't, but you can
I'm sorry but how did the crusader give it blight with the stun?
Non eucledian handle is a crystalline trinket he can get, it allows crusader to apply blight with his attacks.
This video look like is so easy stunn the thing
lol thats impressive!!!
