I love how comfortable Dave and Pete are talking about track cars. You can tell they’ve spend a lot of time building those in the past. They’re in the zone talking about tire sizing, side walls, and roll cage items and trying to avoid nerding out too much haha. Reminds me of the targa new found land build series!
Don’t let Ben from G&G see this. He will never stop telling you that you need to swap the head, add cams, change valve springs, etc. 😂 Love this build! This is my new dream build for weekend warrior.
I’ve been wanting a K24 powered NC for years, ever since they announced they were working on the kit! You guys just built my idea of an ideal track car! Beautiful work!!
9:50 We calculate and compensate the misalignment via GD&T based on requirements: feature size, number of features, and manufacturing capability. Essentially, the three holes in the bar and plate are oversized so that the bolt always goes through both; therefore, if the holes in the chassis are smaller than the other holes, then you can no longer be sure the bolt will go through. -engineer
I think every NC should be K swapped, the engine is way better then the MZR, has more aftermarket support, and it is even oriented the same as the MZR so the intake and exhaust are on the correct sides! The only way I would consider buying an NC is with a blown engine just so I could K swap it! I'm suprised that more NC owners don't do it.
I imagine this swap is going to become way more popular now that there is a tried-and-true complete kit from K Power. I was planning on doing a 2.5 eventually, but this is looking much more appealing.
The 2.5 swap costs less than a third of the price of the kmiata kit. and the Kit doesnt include an engine. So its not hard to see why people would choose the 2.5 and you make similar power.
why i clicked the video: reminded of the RX7 blue build. Reputation of great mix of film quality, talking and work Why and when i left: 27:01 grat compact story, easy to follow and simple, it was great learning the RWD drivetrain HP loss over FWD miata
If you're thinking of doing a giveaway with this car, I would like to shout out my friend. I think this would potentially be his dream build. He LOVES Miatas. He's a great Airman who will be getting out this October, and he'll be going to college in Hawaii. This would be an incredible car for him, and I think he deserves it. He's a hard worker, great friend, and an amazing young man.
Guys, the tuning sessions have great clips and I’m also interested in the tuning the rest of the tuning session, like evening out the curve and tuning drivability 👍
What I do, is jump to the wheel reveal and then I start the video again 😂. It's like cheating but I don't care, I just want to see the wheels first. Awesome choice like always ❤.
I'd look into picking up a set of Japan/Euro market foglight housings. It deletes those massive orange reflectors and cleans up the front end a bit. I love how they look on my car.
Would love to see a cost comparison on this build vs say a turbo or supercharger fit out on the stock motor, then see them on the track to see how performance hits. I love K-swaps but all the stuff for the RWD conversion seems to stack up fast!
I dont like miata like that but u guys made this one look really good cant Deny that, just feel with that color on the car it needs better color wheels the black doesn't look good with that color. Love what u guys do keep up the great work!
I was trying hard not to comment but my inner youtuber commentor just could not let go of the fact that he was pouring the fluids the wrong way? How dare you!!! LOL
It’s interesting that a swapped full bolt-on and tuned K24A makes similar power to a stock tuned FA24D in the GR86. Tech marches on I suppose. The Honda motor is more trustworthy on track of course.
Hey guys as always live the videos. One thing I was thinking why didn't you upgrade the brake calipers? I do believe that the brembo from the ND should fit.
As an NC2 owner myself. I love this build. You guys are really tempting me to attempt this build one day. Any plans for the head unit, gauges, lining the roll bar area? Also, I’d recommend greasing all the seals with shinitsu silicone grease (also a Honda product). This is the NC1 5 speed manual, correct? It probably won’t handle the power forever. Thoughts on swapping in a 6 speed from an NC2/3?
Cant wait for then to rip around the track !! But dam the honda boy in me hope it can beat rhe s2k time but hey let see if Miata is always the answer 😂😂
Thanks so much for the shoutout guys! Absolutely loving how the NC is turning out.

With that engine swap, the Miata has about 500bhp.

Speed academy and coffee is the perfect combination.

You’d think they’d know how to properly pour motor oil and other fluids from their bottles…

Love this build! This is my new dream build for weekend warrior.
That guy is a turd
The build is coming together nicely! We're glad to be part of it!
Pete one handing the seat install like he's Senna at Monaco!
It was awesome meeting yall in person and seeing this car at gridlife. Super humble people and great cars!!!!
Im hoping dyno numbers are a little low, would love to see this up against a 2.5 swapped car
That honda horn contact trick is extremely clever. Love it.
Agree! Part number anyone?
@@droppindeuces6981i don't know if it's the exact one PT used, but after some hunting online, 35259-SH3-A02 looks similar.
It's the small additions you guys add that make the cars a little extra bit special.
This k swap Miata is coming together!! It put down some good numbers! I can’t wait to see it hit the track!
I've never wanted an NC so much! Looking great.
Turning this into a dream build… I’d add an under tray, diffuser and front splitter.
Can't wait for the track test.
Would be awesome if there was a s2k to do a comparison
The production quality of these videos are top notch 💯👏🏾
This build is making me reconsider selling my NC.
I’ve been wanting a K24 powered NC for years, ever since they announced they were working on the kit! You guys just built my idea of an ideal track car! Beautiful work!!
thats a solid track car right there . That gold flake in the paint was asking for bronze/gold wheels tho , i think it would look killer on this color
Can't wait for that track day!! Will have my coffee and donuts ready! See you next week! 🤝

the cost is almost prohibitive when you can bolt a 2.5 engine in from a cx5 or something, even RX8 guys are starting to do that

go check out the k swap kit, they are charging 10k for it. 2.5 swap is half that
@@ShotByDalea 2.5 is not making similar whp to a k24 setup

10 years and come full circle. Blue s2000 to the blue s2000 killer
Those are fantastic numbers for this setup. I'd be more than happy with that result.
Saturdays and Speed Academy always a good combination.
Those wheels look fantastic! Great build guys. Beautiful car!
Yes!!!! And the nc3 is the best one out of the NC yrs. Now drive it down to the mountains of NC/tn
Amazing! Only thing missing now is a front lip.
I love this NC so much.
Love how the cage builder doesnt make a fuss about the mounting point and all that, unlike some california builder

This thing turned out super rad.
Great video guys !! Car turned out killer!! Can’t wait to see what the car does on tge track
So excited to see we’re the next episode. This makes me want to buy a Miata and build one myself!
It looks so happy to be on the dyno!
I appreciate the THICK sidewall tyres. Love it.
You guys have really outdone yourselves on this one 🤩

2000 to 2006* Insight filter. I actually use the reverse on my 2000 Insight for more oil filtration and easier access to the filter.
The weds really bring it together.
I freakin love this car!! Honda powaaa! It’s looks sooo good, love the color, the wheels the mods. Can’t wait for the next video.
The car is looking awesome, great job as always 👍
That paint code looks amazing
Man this thing looks soooooo good with the hard top and weds ❤🤘
I hope you guys do a video comparing this to an s2000 on track … that would be cool.
I dont like miata like that but u guys made this one look really good cant Deny that, just feel with that color on the car it needs better color wheels the black doesn't look good with that color. Love what u guys do keep up the great work!
Nice roll bar
Yeah
I would have siliconed the backing plates in the wheel well 💯👌🏾
I got dibs whenever this goes up for sale .this needs to come to California with me lol
As a s2000 owner. I'm very jealous of this build. I got my s2k before they exploded in value/popularity. Everything has a steep s2000 tax.
05:18 "the joystick" I lol'd coffee 😆
This is awesome. Looking forward to the track video.
DP you need to level up your pouring game.. Put the spout at the top and pour it out, It reduces sloshing.
I was trying hard not to comment but my inner youtuber commentor just could not let go of the fact that he was pouring the fluids the wrong way? How dare you!!! LOL
This is already an amazing build, I'm jealous
Also, who shipped their Porsche from the Big Island to Nick!? Legendary 🤯
Always love your videos. Amazing work
Mmmmm!! The induction noises of the K-motor
Love the wheel choice, black multispoke for the win!
Nice well put together ride. Love it. The brakes though yikes. At least paint the rusted calipers😅.
I did not think Canada could get to the 90s lol
Here in Texas is 70s oddly enough and last year it was 100-105

0:27 You guys are such a tease. I immediately skipped to 18:32 for the reveal. 😂
I also run weds on my tsx. Sa99r blc ❤️
Wheel s are fire 🔥
I also guessed 218 because my K24 swapped FRS made 218.
Great build! Makes me wanna buy a NC now :D . However I would have chosen a Gunmetal or Titan colored wheel.
Such an awesome build!
I wonder what feels better on the road and track, a k24 or a LS
Both are fantastic powertrains in my opinion.
This is probably just paranoia, but shouldn’t those drill holes get a quick spray of paint to avoid bare metal rusting?
Freaking awesome!!! Love it.
Awesome video guys!
Literally all that needs to finish off the look is the later rear lights, otherwise it's perfect 👌
S2000 Killer! ☠️
INITIAL D BABY
Silver wheels would've really popped. Maybe even matte gun metal or anthracite.
Regardless, I enjoyed the video!
Hey guys as always live the videos. One thing I was thinking why didn't you upgrade the brake calipers? I do believe that the brembo from the ND should fit.
The tuning/dyno section makes me miss NA Honda motors 😢
The brakes looks so smal in thoses big wheels ! The NC be lookin good tho
Hope Merc Racing S/C kit fits in these
So good 🔥
Nick dyno is not corrected so if you go back in winter it will put out over 10hp as now its hot and humid as hell
Kswap all the things!
Miata is like a mini S2000
Gonna be heading to g16 to get some rdx injectors for 9th gen

Loving this build and would really love to do this swap but …. What happened with the Evo wagon ??
The Badass2005
6:37 More to the point, what were Mazda thinking not having water tight fittings on a marine application like the NC 👀😂
I was about to post that I use zerex pink coolant in my NC but duh, you have a K motor!
Loving this build. What offset are the wheels that you use? They look the mutt's nuts! Asking for a friend. ;)
I would like to see a coyote swap in a NC. 500 whp NA with bolt ons and a tune would be unstoppable in one ot these 😂
If you get rid of the cup holders where are you going to put your Tim Horton's when blasting around the track?
