We wanted to do something to say thanks to our emergency workers and fire fighters after the recent fires plagued our city. Being a flower farm, we wanted to give flowers, but since everyone was too busy doing their job to take flowers home with them, and since our farm is located on a busy road that lots of those workers will drive multiple times a day, we decided to build a flower installation to express our thanks. Serina is quite creative, and she improvised with what was available to put together a beautiful rainbow coloured flower display. Every time she tries something new, she nails it and this is no exception. We want everyone to keep in mind that people's homes were lost to this disaster, and we feel for everyone suffering those loses. However, without the work of the emergency services and fire fighters, the scale of this would have been so much larger.

arch turned out very gorgeous. you can offer that for weddings, parties, school graduations etc People will gladly pay 100's if not thousands for such gorgeous displays and photo backgrounds. Love it

My son is leaving in a couple of days from WA state to help on those fires. He works on a hand crew where they hike in and cut a fire line to keep things from spreading on terrain that equipment can't reach easily. Ive been so proud of him as he's only 18 and working so hard❤. Continued hopes for your area!!! Always here to watch you break all of the florist rules too😂.
In 2008 I lived in Big Sur, California where a large fire broke out (The Basin Complex Fire). Afterwards, there were several hand-painted signs posted along Highway 1, thanking firefighters and residents who had stayed behind to fight the fire, effectively saving homes and property. The owners of the property where I lived saved the one that was made for them, "Thank You McQueens for Keeping the Fire at the Line!" I have a photo of it and I'll never forget it. I love your idea about making a special thank you sign with the flowers. It will definitely bring a smile to every face who sees it. :)
The flower frame is beyond beautiful. You should be proud of how it turned out. It brought joy to me!
Looks beautiful. Out here in India, we have elaborate arrangements done with marigolds during festivals. They are stringed or the petals are used in floor designs called Rangolis. They are star attractions in festivals.
yes that is why I want marigolds in my garden. I like the smaller striped brownish ones. they make great garlands that remind me of the time I lived in India. marigolds means India to me.
Wow, your arch turned out pretty good. Startning when i saw marigold arrangement, I remember my childhood days back in India. Every festival filled with marigold flower torans and rangoli decorations for festival. Me and my daughter loves to watch it. Always your fame reminds me our farm. Thanks for this beautiful video😍.

I Am So Thankful you guys are safe and well. My kids are grown and all out on their own as of this year, grand babies finding their ways into my life. And you guys have come under my maternal wing metaphorically in that I’ve been watching you guys for at least a couple of years now. I admire your resolve, your art, your vision, your drive, and your eternal positive attitudes. You guys are the epitome of Canada for a little mother in North Carolina. So happy you are safe. Your flower arch is awesome; especially for the reason you are doing this. I love flowers wanted to be a florist, but didn't happen. Chef instead. I didn't have enough money to buy flowers at the local greenhouse. I received flower seeds from the charity I give to. St. Joseph's Indians school. I planted the Marigolds and Zinnias. I said to myself , if I get any flowers this year I will be happy. I also got wild flower seeds and they got hit by some heavy rain and did not do so well. Well my Zinnias and marigolds are doing great. So great that I get to watch giant fuzzy bubble bees visiting my flowers. And another great surprise is we had a humming bird. I may try planting the seeds again next year. If you give , you shall receive. You will be a recipient for your gratitude. You work very hard. I love your cats. Do more videos of your cats. P.S. Where did "You Can't Eat The Grass" come from? Keep up the hard work and videos.

you should do more displays outside the stand if it gives you more business. maybe not as elaborate, but a nice big display that brings attentions to your flowers!
Maybe you guys should do something like this on special occasions to attract some new people to the stand. Doesn't seem like something that could be easily stolen, especially being outside. Maybe could even use dried flowers when there isn't enough fresh.
I think that is so sweet to make a thank you. In the town my son has been working on the wildfires, the community has been coming out and personally thanking them. They even made thank you signs and put them in the windows of their homes. ❤

What a clever idea!!! I bet it will be copied by many people!! Oh, those beautiful marigolds! When I get my garden going again, marigolds will be there. I've grown both the yellow and orange for years, and they are awesome! The white sunflowers are so impressive! What a wonderful gesture, to thank the EMS with that bright, gorgeous display! Idea- build a shelving unit like this with the middle cut open; then advertise it for photo booths for weddings! Like a giant flower frame to stand behind. It would make for incredible pictures.

Have you considered doing big,potted mums for the fall? They be both a nice outside display and a good seasonal sales item for fall. lots of the roadside stands in NC have huge shelves and tables made of boards and concrete blocks overflowing with enormous pots of mums. They are perennial so can be planted in the garden but I’m sure most people just toss them after Harvest season.

Beautiful design Serena and Ian. Now you need to make dried wreaths of the flowers used in that design. I bet people will buy them to show their appreciation also. You will have started a trend for your community. Whenever the responders see the wreaths around your town they will know that household supports them. Btw no more referring to yourself being weird. I really appreciate that y’all are doing more with your personal appearance in your videos. The garden along your fence by your flower stand is great advertisement but would include more grooming along the boarder. Neat and well groomed gives the best impression for your products. Requires more effort for sure but pays off with increased sales.
