I am loving the pool work...Carlo is amazing at what he can do. The fountain, whichever you choose is going to be the crowning glory.

I can’t wait to try your lemon cake recipe, because I absolutely love condensed milk. As a child I got s spoon of it to hide the taste of medicine. I have no idea of what it was but I had no problem getting it down.

Buy Carlo a cordless hand looper. I’m 77 and have a huge yard full of shrubs and trees that I have always cut with my manual loopers. Today I used my new cordless loopers and it went through 1 inch branches like butter! Why did I wait so long to buy one? I cut for three hours and the battery still says full charge. It is a Worx Nitro. I bought an extra battery but didn’t need it. I filled a 55 gallon drum bag to overflowing.
Carlo is all loving and gives of himself to everyone. He reminds me of my husband who can fit and make anything around our home. He's not able to do as much as he used to now, because of a back pain from an accident years ago. I know Nicki appreciates Carlo for all he does, because things can change suddenly. Wishing you love and warmth in your new home. You guys have put so much into it and how wonderful! It looks now and that new pool FANTASTIC!
Carlo did a super job building the pool wall with recycled materials. I love the door that allows access to the filter system, pump, and motor. Also the new steps with the little tree in the middle! Meanwhile while you were preparing your cakes, pie, and garlic bread, I was again admiring your beautiful kitchen. Your home in Tuscany is so gorgeous! Your apple-raspberry cakes and lemon meringue pie looked tasty!
I know you two had lots of help with this pool but that Carlo is a keeper. He is so talented and learning about new projects seems to come so easily for him. You are lucky!! Many of us do not have husbands that are interested in the least about these type of projects. ❤❤

I'm very sorry about your loss. Becoming a widow after a long and happy marriage is a major adjustment. My aunt lost her childhood sweetheart and husband after a lifetime with him and four now adult children. Her children are wonderful, yet busy, even though they do make time for her. I hope and pray you have a good support system. Being a member of a church helps. Although I am her niece, we became close over the years. I call her at least once a month. She's a wealth of information about the family, has facinating stories, I've learned so much from her and desire with all my heart to hear them, her voice and her wisdom, until her days on earth are done or the Lord takes us all home. May God be with you during your time of grief and send you the people whom you too can bless with stories of the past and the wisdom you have gleaned in life as well.

Nicki, as an English woman who has travelled all over Italy I’ve never had garlic bread in Italy. Moved to the states and it’s at every Italian restaurant. My grandad from my mum’s side was a Spaniard and we use to have fresher crushed garlic with olive oil and dipped fresh bread from the panaderia with cafe con leche for breakfast. Delicious. Also fresh tomatoes from my Grampy’s garden ❤❤❤
Using the old wood decking for the side pool wall looks fabulous. I can't wait to see both of you in the pool, perhaps Indy as well? It's so much fun to see you working in your new kitchen knowing what it all looked like when you moved in. Are you possibly thinking of selling your olive oil next year? I believe it would sell out. I keep thinking of all the projects you have done without having to worry about 500 steps to go up...and down! It would be so nice for Elizabeth and the girls to visit on a long weekend after the tourist season is over. Who knows, she might bring you a couple of goats so you and Carlo can make cheese!

Please forgive me if this sounds crazy. But I LOVE Cicadas. When I was a small child. I would gather up as many cicadas as I could find. Then, I would place them on my shirt, pants, back, head, and arms. My mother would be screaming, " Get out of this house with those bugs." I would sneak them in my room. And my mom would be up at night trying to get those bugs out of the house. The noise that they make helps me go to sleep at night. They are beautiful to look at.

Please forgive me if this sounds crazy. But I LOVE Cicadas. When I was a small child. I would gather up as many cicadas as I could find. Then, I would place them on my shirt, pants, back, head, and arms. My mother would be screaming, " Get out of this house with those bugs." I would sneak them in my room. And my mom would be up at night trying to get those bugs out of the house. The noise that they make helps me go to sleep at night. They are beautiful to look at.

Little tip with baking paper. Dampen it, scrunch it up and it's so much easier to line the tin with. Gonna try the recipes, thank you. The pool looks fab!
