    Thanks, you got me really close! I also needed to Settings/System Configuration/Check Enable USB Boot Support. Wasted more time than I care to admit chasing my tail. Hope this helps someone!

    On a similar generation dell laptop (8th Gen i7) setting legacy boot options are only for external boot devices albeit my boot drive is m.2 and my batocera is on an internal 2.5 SSD I only get as far as the black booting batocera screen.... Any help is appreciated

      Try this -
      Advance Boot Options = Enable both the Legacy options Rom & Attempt Legacy Boot
      Boot Sequence = Select the UEFI Boot List Option
      BootSequence = Batocera (first), Windows Bootmanager (second)
      Hopefully should work

    I have the same PC as you. I got a new image of Batocera 37. Used your instructions to get it to boot (THANKS!!). However after the Batocera splash screen the screen goes blank and nothing else happens. I have a monitor plugged into the VGA port. Thinking it is a graphics driver issue. Have you upgraded this to 37? Did you have any graphics issues? Thanks!

      I think it is hanging because it’s looking for the hdmi audio to handshake. If you plugged this into a Tv it should boot. Then you can change the audio settings…. Please let me know if this works

      @@HumanoidMachines I solved my own problem: I did get a v35 version to work fine. In comparing the batocera_boot.conf I noticed that the v37 version contained amdgpu=true. Commenting this out and v37 booted just fine! Thanks for the reply and your video which got me started!

    Hello, I have a problem, when I try to access the bios, it automatically reboots, how can I solve that?😢

    • @HumanoidMachines
      @HumanoidMachines  ปีที่แล้ว

      That’s odd? Try unplugging all leads and then take the battery out. Put the battery back in and have another go.. If that fails, look for jumper connections on the motherboard. Holding the connection across other pins should reset to factory defaults.

    Hello I tried to install batocera on my SSD and did want you did on your video,but mine got stuck on the loading batocera.linux.and now I just have a blank screen,I can not enter the bios as the usb keyboard won't work.any ideas please

    • @HumanoidMachines
      @HumanoidMachines  ปีที่แล้ว

      You need to get into bios somehow. Enable legacy boot, disable secure boot. Borrow a working keyboard.

    Hi i have 3020. When i check legacy, no device show for me. I would like to set usb with batocera before hdd with windows to be permanent. But only solution is f12 and choose usb drive and i would like to remove keyboard from setup. In bios device never showed up.

    • @HumanoidMachines
      @HumanoidMachines  ปีที่แล้ว

      Keyboard is found in POST Behavior - Keyboard Errors - untick Enable Keyboard Errors.

      Also when you have set all the bios correct with Boot list options on Legacy. Reboot pc tapping F2 on keyboard to re enter bios. You should now have options available in Boot Sequence. USB can be selected as first device…. Maybe connect your usb drive prior to the reboot. 👍

      @@HumanoidMachines Ok i figure it out. Like you said, i have to reboot to see new boot legacy option, but it didnt work (black screen, no bios) on VGA connected to CRT. When i go to modern monitor with DP bios show up with option exactly like on your system. Now i can go back to CRT and optiplex will boot to batocera every time. Apparently VGA doesn't show bios properly with legacy option.

      @@Qa_mook another problem can happen using a monitor with Batocera. If the audio is set to HDMI and you plug in to a monitor with hdmi but no speakers, batocera can hang during boot up. The audio is looking for a handshake but it’s not the there.
      It’s great you sorted it out 👍
