wow! I just watched again, with no volume, and I finally caught it. When you go into the 2 TC to make the petals you show it with the hook, but when you actually go in, you change directions! I missed it the 1st time.. Wow..It's coming out GORGEOUS!!!! thank you.. so creative! I love it!

I really like this pattern and I am currently making a blanket with it. My flowers aren't as neat as yours though. Their middles are very wide, and the 'petals' curl up. Do you have any advice?
Tension is the key. If your petals are curling too much your tension is too tight. If the centers of the flowers are too loose your tension is too loose. With practice you will figure out the tension. For myself in order to keep my tension even with any project, I need to go down a hook size. I have trouble with hooks sizes over a 4.5.. It also helps to know if you are generally a loose crocheter or a tight crocheter and work accordingly. But the main thing is to play with it and enjoy the process and you will figure out your tension for this. This part of the fun I think.
