Dear Robin, I'm one of those people who cannot do puff stitches but find them beautiful. How ever if you substitute a 4 together DC cluster and do everything else exactly the same you get a very similar look. Thank you so much for this video. I have worked 160 puffs long and was wondering why I have not got enough wool, just spotted your comment that it was 106 not 160 puffs so the lady I purchased my wool from has put me a 3rd ball to one side ready for collecting. Robin, I totally get why you're obsessed with this pattern! I'm making a blanket instead of a scarf (and using 2 strands of yarn), and I'm really zipping through it. Even with just 3 rows connected so far, I can tell it's going to be really pretty. I see a LOT of King Cole Beaches yarn in my future.....going to order a ton of it once it's back in stock. I can't help but wonder if your puff stitch scarf made this particular yarn so popular; those colors made me pick up my hook after a 10-year break....thanks again for sharing this pattern!

Oh what a delightful pattern with so many possibilities!
I did a different pattern MIM pattern sometime back and enjoyed it but this one is is simpler yet seems more complicated and I can see how one could relax and enjoy the process of making it.
You have inspired me out of a crochet slump and I thank you!
I understood your clear instructions the 1st time around , although I will watch it again to jot down the pattern instructions in case I need them if I get fatigued and addlebrained late at night when I am free to crochet without interruptions. You showed me a complete pattern in under 18 minutes and I can make so many things with it! Amazing!

  • @Altarose58

I'm halfway through my scarf and it's going very well. I noticed at first that because of the 2 chains that are added to the first puff stitch makes it larger than the second puff stitch so I went ahead and changed the second puff stitch to 5 stitches instead of 4. This makes the puff stitches more of the same size beside each other. At first I was having trouble with the puff stitches having the length I wanted but by placing my index finger on the yarn against the end of the hook while yarning over and through, yarning over again to make the puff stitch, this held the length that I wanted and worked very well. Thank you for a great pattern, I can't wait until it's finished.

I have commented on about 5 peoples’ you tube videos.. ever.
I simply must comment on this one! I am so grateful, I liked, subscribed & shared. When I was a little girl my Mom taught me how to do the “granny square”, I felt so grown up. As I grew I crocheted less & less, always making all these granny squares (that I didn’t even know how to join mind you), so I would never finish. Finally in my 30’s I figured I would just make great big Granny Smith blankets; I made two.. they were huge! Over the past decade or so I would go on TH-cam looking for another stitch I could do. Years went by, never saw one I liked & the person doing the video would talk about multiples of 7 .. & just sounded like too much trouble. This past year I decided I was going to do a chevron for my daughter (her favorite). Nope. Last night I found THIS VIDEO! When I saw the picture I thought ‘no way’.. but then an Angel appeared!
Robin I just love ya girl! This pattern is absolutely fabulous! And the way you taught it was PERFECT! I am going to do scarves like this for every female in my family for Christmas. I do hope you describe how to put the fringe on the end in another video.. and maybe how to join two colors?
Thank you. Thank you. Thank you! ~Sandy

    I just made this
i used a thick yard because i was doing it for my son's girlfriend and i wanted to use the same yarn as i used for my son's scarf so they would have matching scarfs. My yarn was a bit hard to work with but when it was done it came out beautiful! i can't wait to give it to her. Your tutorial was perfect i was able to follow along and understand

I like to watch these videos as entertainment but almost never follow any directions but do my own. But I fell in love with this design and have hard time waiting till morning to start it, (it is 2 am here in Texas and if I start now I'll be crocheting instead of sleeping 😄).
Thank you for the instructions, such a simple design and so beautiful! Love it! Have to check more of your videos.

@@HookedbyRobin love the design, it is far more simple than what it looks like at a first glance.
I learnt to knit at age 4.5 years and crochet a couple of months later ( mom thought it all along sewing etc). Now have been doing it for 60+ years. Must watch your other vids also, but holidays are holding me back🙂
      Happy Holidays to you!

      @HookedbyRobin  ปีที่แล้ว +1

That is so amazing! I’ve tried knitting but can’t get the hang of it, so I’m sticking to crochet. Thank you so much, have a lovely holiday too! 🎄❄️

@@HookedbyRobin oh, wish you were here, I could tech you in one hour to knit. I have thought many here in Texas. I am originally from Finland where everyone knits Continentsl style, had not even ever seen the English style until I moved here.
I feel personally believe it is easier to knit than crochet. You could learn it fast, you have the dexterity, and your work is so even I am sure about that. 🎄

Tried the stitch and it is very easy sure to your excellent instruction. Went to the site to order the yarn that you used and they were out of that beautiful color and most all the other colors. I made a small scarf out of another yarn that I had on hand. It turned out okay. Will wait until they have Beach Melba back in stock. I absolutely love the colors in it. Thank you for the beautiful pattern.

I am still busy making my scarf, but have really enjoyed the first three rows that I have done, I like to watch a movie at the same time, and I found this a very simple, but gorgeous project to do simultaneously. I have used the loops and threads facets yarn in the most gorgeous jewel colors, and I am thrilled with how it is turning out. Thank you so much for introducing the style of crocheting to me, it is definitely something I will be making again and again. 🎉❤
