I think HBB's is good too, the gist is the same. Don't buy it unless you need a bass curve like that and tend to listen to music in the same ballpark as HBB's hiphop style. For everyone else, one of his other sets or just a heavier bass, V style set.
This, in my opinion, is what a good review is like. We all know that we all have our own biases, including product reviewers; but as a product reviewer, one should be able to regulate those biases. And Paul did an excellent job here. He still left the door open for people to be curious about it and want to further explore. A long time ago, I learned that just because I don't like a set, doesn't mean that someone else won't enjoy it. Sometimes I won't like a set for the same reasons some else will like it. Matching people to sets and tunings is usually more important than my feelings on it. Anyway, it is a basshead set, bassheads are going to buy a lot of them based on the number of times I have been asked about the best basshead set in the past year.
@@PaulWasabii A lot of reviewers forget that it's really not about them. They are the ones who are supposed to be holding the spotlight on the product and not them being the one on the spotlight. So, Sir, i just want you to know that i have the highest respect for you for the way you do your thing. And yeah, i'm a basshead myself, hehehe... Although every now and then, i'd put on something neutral just to sort of "loosen the string on my bow", so to speak; hehehe... Also, just waiting for the Hades to be released here in the Philippines. It's already got a place waiting for it, next to my Legato. I'm thinking it would most probably be available on the local Shopee platform after the Chinese New Year long holiday, because the only on-line sellers that are first to carry IEMs and things of the like and make it available here, are China-based merchants. Again Paul, Sir, i really appreciate and greatly respect the way you do your reviews. The other reviewer is honest at least. This iem (look at that fr!) is pure garbage and hbb knows perfectly this. But he is becoming too much greedy and knows that he can sell everything to the sheeps that are following him! Precog one time defined hbb sheeps as "hbb minions" 😄 Oh and this iem has low quality drivers inside... using a huge amount of bass is not enough to say that this is a bass heads iem... bass needs of quality too..
I've got few budget iems ( cra, blon, blon 03, rosefinch). Does this iem has more noticable bass than my rosefinch in terms of quantity or just same amount with lower treble? I'm sensitive to treble even with rosefinch, can't tolerate cra treble. Kind of confused getting it.
Yeah, that is why I mentioned people who put tuning filters on Rosefinch. That will get you close enough without much money. You can try buying 3M micropore tape on Amazon and then play with the amount covering the nozzle. Cover it, cover half, quarter, etc until you find where you like it. Hades is a bit different with 2 drivers, but I'd invest in some micropore tape and see how it works on Rosefinch and and CRA. www.audioreviews.org/how-to-remove-treble-peaks/
Do I need this BassHead IEM Hades?! I love my CCZ Coffee Bean/Melody. I even purchased the Green Melody model, because I gave my brother my OG Clear Melody! Currently my favourite BassHead IEM to listen to is my KZ Castor Bass UUDD. It has the right amount of Sub Bass/Mid Bass and Treble to me. Not fatiguing at all to me too very enjoyable for all my music. The Rosefinch has more Bass, but I feel the Treble is less bright, and more recessed. I still think its fun and insane for Bass! I also purchased and like my Yellow CCA CA2! This set is very fun and lively. Although, the KZ Castor Bass to me has more Bass. The CCA CA2 is borderline Treble Fatigue to me close to piercing which is my limit. Also, thank you for your Squig Graphs of all your IEM Tests! It helps me see and compare the IEM's I own and see maybe why I like one over another. Unless I want to have the Hades for it's nice looking Design/Faceplate, I don't think I need to buy this right? I’ve been using QKZ VK4 (and it’s my first ever IEM) so I’m looking for a budget upgrade. Which one should i get between Moondrop Chu 2, KZ Castor Harman & QKZ x HBB?
I love my rosefinch for non fatigued sound & good bass. Will hades be a upgrade in terms of low end? I have tfz t2g & mle but both have Piercing treble to me.
What I noticed A/B the two, while Rosefinch is non-fatiguing, it is brighter than Hades. Some of that brightness overcomes the bass so Hades at first glance sounds bassier. I wouldn't necessarily say its an upgrade but it has the potential. Its a similar but different flavor of a basshead set. Once you are in basshead land with 15db-ish of bass, you are choosing the tunings and which aligns better to your ears and music.
Guys have a bit of respect for him, he wasn't the intended audience and gave us his honest thoughts. Laughing at his expense is in poor taste and unbelievably childish
I totally understand who the Hades is focused at and I think it epically fails as a basshead IEM. I'm sure many will enjoy it but I know there are also other bassheads who want a more refined presentation. After you hear the Hades I look forward to hearing your honest impressions. We don't have to agree and that okay, I'm just curious what you think and why. BTW thanks for watching my review, much appreciated 👍 @paulwasabi thanks for the review and your impressions.
Been waiting for this review from yiy, Hades is now also what I want to buy next together with the legato but still saving up. Still want to get them both anyway. which do you like more? Hades or Legato?
Hades solves some pairing and power problems that people ran into with Legato. Legato wasn't meant to be a basshead set so if you are just looking for huge bass level, Hades is the easy choice. Legato is just picky, source and music styles. When you find the zone, its a great sound, but its harder than it should be to get there.
Is Hades a subwoofer? Whats the pros and cons compared with Legato? I want a IEM to listen Trap, I buy Legato or Hades, or the other IEM in this price?
I had both, get the Legato, the Hades is borderline unlistenable. However both are not great bass anyway, just a lot of boomy bass. Save up to get something great, like the Variation, despite having less bass, the quality of bass is much better and it "feels" stronger
Boom Boom! Agreed w/ a Punishing Bass on board sign 😄 Would you be reviewing the Tachjim Origin? Curious how it compares to EA1000 & 500LM. As you preferred EA1000 more in your LM vid.
Yeah, I had asked about Origin, it is a maybe now that CNY is over. The hardest part of what Simgot did is splitting this driver is amazing but this tuning is better for my music. I found my zen with EA1000 and might get there eventually with EA500LM. Mike already tweaked LM closer to negating most of my complaints so that might win in the end.
Great video as always! I have to say qkz x hbb is one of my favorites sets independently of price, the cozy tonality, not recessed voices and still having some good information on treble makes a hell of a combo. Do you think hades would be a upgrade to it? Congrats again for the amazing reviews!
I agree with the other comment. Hades is designed for a subset of HBB's library, the rap, r&b, edm side. Rock which you might like on QKZ x HBB is going to sound overwhelming on Hades. I'd say Hades is better on beats and impacts. Beyond that, you are into genres that work better on QKZ x HBB.
Nice review dude, I listen to a reasonable amount of EDM, and don't currently have something that can give me that massive car audio style bass, might check these out. They're a snazzy looking set with real nice packaging for such a low price and a cute extra in the form of the commemorative coin.
Most IEMs don't come close as the basshead style tuning fell away in favor of more balanced, general purpose sets. For EDM, you looking for the bigger bass styles, that go deep, more like rap and r&b. Those parts that will boom on Hades.
Due to CNY, slight delay but I would assume that Linsoul will list it on Amazon US. Typically takes a couple of weeks for the sets to arrive at local warehouses.
Those are different sets, different intentions from Hades. Hades is for folks listening to specific music styles. If you A/B with a general set, results aren't very predicable.
Mostly comes down to intention and library. Legato was designed to be a very full sounding, warm, smooth general purpose set. The balance is different, designed to handle more genres. Hades has a singular purpose, a huge, impactful bass shelf designed for a few genres and a group of folks who really enjoy that style.
I have my bassy IEMs (Fudu, Z300, Kiwi Ears Melody), though I also don't necessarily consider them basshead sets. And I probably don't listen to enough basshead music to justify the Hades.. but I still might get them especially if I can get them under $40 later on. Right, Hades is not a bassy general purpose set, but clear intention for bassheads and basshead music styles. Otherwise, you already have some bassy sets that hit your library right.
I briefly mentioned this, if you look at Rosefinch, similar bass levels but the apparent bass level sounds higher on Hades unless you put a tuning filter on Rosefinch. Otherwise, try EQ'ing one of your sets over the 15db level, most drivers don't do well, some might. I am hoping to borrow Fat Freq Scarlett which looks like it might be the strongest off the shelf set. Not sure as at some point it is punishing to listen to and I wouldn't pay hundreds of dollars for that.
Castor bass was a bass enhanced Harman, bumped out a bit to offer a fun take on that style. Hades is full on basshead for people who listen really bass heavy genres. Castor bass is more of a general purpose tuning that added a nice bass bump.
No offense to QKZ or HBB but I think this product is redundant when they already have a bassy $20 IEM in their currently lineup which has been selling well from what I've seen. Its not a general purpose set, so hard to look at the graph and compare to either of those sets. Some people just want a bass set like Clear, some want fulll-on bass like Hades.
