Now that is a piece of art. Think about it, 1972. Mercedes has been a remarkable designer and manufacturer. And for the most part, they are practical and well thought, too.

The way it should be done! The engines are a work or art if properly cared for.

I been watching you for years. I use to have a 1991 190e 2.6 black Pearl ,that was absolutely perfect until someone side swiped me.

My first thought when you had the small brush, cleaning the coolant lines was "You charge by the hour, right?"..:-). Beautiful engine, a work of art, considering the time period as well.

Kent, your an angel on the shoulders of analog Mercedes Benz do it yerselfers.
But the electronic D-jet generation was doomed because of the electronic wiring harness breaking down, brittle fragile connectors, corrosion inside the "brain", system component resistance values breaking down........
I worked at a Greenwich Conn dealer when these were new. That could be a problem even at 5 years old. Now 50+ years later?. All I can say is to only buy one that has been meticulously maintained, kept clean under the hood. These are not as friendly as same period Diesels. AND RUN away from any with the catalytic converter exhaust manifolds.
Yours is a great channel 👍🛠️🔧☕✌️. CD in New Hampshire, retired after 47 years. 20 with MB, Star Technician1970-90, and 27 years with BMW, master tech 1990-2017 . Stay well 👍🏁

My 1973 W116 280SE D'jet starts just the same beautiful way as this V8 does, only bad thing about it is that it is running rough/misfiring badly when idling, when it's getting put under load you can't really feel it, maybe one of my injector has gone bad?🤔

❤️😍💎 What brush you used for the cleaning part in the engine? And how do you know the part number from the rubber parts you replaced? I can not find numbers on my parts. Guess my engine would be grateful to have the same sercive but I wait for spring time. Might be one of the air issues why my T124 from 1989 does not start trustfully. Complete rubber replacement project? What was the cost of your replaced rubber parts? Stay safe and blessings

I Have a w100 body 600 1971 that needs repair for the mechanical fuel pump. ( the car has been sitting for 10 years ) we have cleaned the hole fuel line and installed new fuel pump. when we found it has been dumping lots of fuel. we want to calibrate the mechanical fuel distributor.

I would remove, inspect and test your fuel injectors first. th-cam.com/video/Fb3fHKiVF4o/w-d-xo.html you can watch some of my playlist on my 6.3 to see how I got it running after 18 years. th-cam.com/play/PLtRKk64pu2woOOe_OXXPu2clnNUDh7OtU.html
If it does turn out to be your injection pump you will need to send out for overhaul. Join the M100 group online.
