If you had to only eat one of these desserts for the rest of your life, which would it be? I'm a cookie gal all the way!! (though actual cookies not shortbread)
Tie between pumpkin pie and cookies! Both are amazing in their own right. But cake is also pretty good, especially carrot cake! The pumpkin pie that my oldest sister makes for Thanksgiving (U.S. Thanksgiving) is REALLY good, and every year, she makes at least 8-10 pies for Thanksgiving because we have four other siblings between us (me being the youngest of the Ogramira siblings)- plus two brother-in-laws and eight nieces, nephews and niblings!
1:14 To your question. Because of search engine optimization. The longer you stay on a page the better the search engine thinks the site is, that's why instead of showing the recipe first you have to scroll almost endlessly so that the page creator can artificially boost the page's score, even though no one reads the text.
@@soupforeloise this is only half right. The other part is that recipes aren't really copyright-able in the same way that other things are, but the stories attached to them _are,_ so it's a way to basically trademark your recipe even though it's technically the exact same as any other basic shortbread recipe
@@LyricAndCompany I thought it was mostly about getting you to scroll over as many ads as possible to trick the ad revenue algorithm into thinking you paid more attention to the ads than you actually did.

If you ever want to try pumpkin pie again without worrying about screen accuracy, I strongly recommend a graham cracker crust if you can get one. They balance out the flavor and texture of the pumpkin really well.
@J75Pootle fun fact: they're named for their creator, Sylvester Graham, a Victorian-era social reformer who had some weird ideas about the effects of diet on mental health. Similar to John Kellogg (inventor of cornflakes) if you know that story.

0:44 parrots can die from cookies because chocolate is toxic to birds irl... but it is strange, because no other minecraft animal can be killed by feeding them something
It was only added because originally, cookies were used to feed and breed parrots. But then people started complaining to Mojang that it would encourage their kids to poison their pet birds with cookies, so they changed it.
LOL, what is kinda funny is right at the start of this video there was an Ad for King Arthur Flour! 1:23 As for the Rolling Pin thing, until you can get a properly sized Rolling Pin you can use an empty round glass Olive Oil bottle. Just be careful to not break it or press down too hard. 3:49
I can't believe you made pie crust by hand! When I used to do it that way it always made such a huge mess everywhere that now I refuse to make it without a food processor lol
I've seen several different videos exploring how closely you can stick to the crafting recipes for Minecraft cake, and I believe there were actually a couple different methods that turned out okay? The main issue with the cake recipe is the proportions. It's a fairly workable list of ingredients for a cake, despite the lack of baking soda or powder; but 3 milk buckets, when a bucket can contain over a meter cubed of water? Even considering that there's also three meters worth of wheat stalks, the amount of flour you make from that is going to be swamped if you try to stick to the Minecraft proportions. I believe Ann Reardon tried a few interesting techniques for getting the cake to rise just with the given ingredients, and I can't remember who but somebody condensed most of the milk for a recipe similar to tres leches cake.
I was on a server with my friends, they moved millions of blocks away from spawn, built a whole empire, had wheat farms spanning thousands of blocks, and pumpkin farms to match. They only ate pumpkin pie as a symbol of superiority.
Maybe when cooking meat you could try the various in game cooking types. Furnace, Smoker, and campfire. Though maybe just a normal oven instead of a furnace lol
Fun fact! the reason that you have to read through four articles worth of text before getting to the recipe is because that’s the only way that the writer can copyright the recipe (at least according to US laws) youre not allowed to just copyright a recipe, there has to be a significant story or preamble to be considered your intellectual property
5:56 when it comes to purees, it's easy to extrude them out by cutting both ends of the can and pushing it through using one of the disks you cut from the can. 6:31 this is why in addition to a reciprocating can opener, it's also good to have a hooked puncture-type one. You punch either two holes at the top of the can on opposide sides or if your contents are precious and don't want any left on the lip of the inside of the can, you punch one on the top and one on the side. You do two to let air in as you're pouring the contents out to get a continuous flowed pour.
