Hi, I just wanted to say thanks for this video. it made the job much easier to do for me. I especially appreciated the PTO detail and the governor adjustment.

Good video. I done this repair today same mower same pto. Mine came right off drive pulley also slide right off.. I used an impact wrench to remove pto bolt. 5/8 socket it comes right off no need to hold fly wheel. Took forever to clean off old gasket probably well over an hour to do it right. That was the worst part. Took about 4 hours start to finish not a hard job just takes time. The old gasket was sucked in just ahead of oil filter. New gasket new bolts torqued to specs should be dry for years to come. Thanks for the video nice job.

I'm having the same issue. When I reinstall the gasket, I will be using a thin skim of black permatek to help the gasket stick to the case's.

I've heard it can be done either way. FYI - For what it's worth, I still don't have any leaks. I didn't use any gasket sealer. I'm guessing that sort of sticky feeling on the stock gasket is a factory sealant coating. Please let us know how your gasket replacement holds up! Thank you for watching.

B/S parts are best and correct thickness for end play of crankshaft
    Don’t do it twice folks
Camshaft are #1 and the rejected ones sold to discount retailers who sale them as new and cheaper

As shown in the video, I installed Briggs & Stratton 594195 Briggs and Stratton Crankcase Gasket, Grey, from the Briggs & Stratton Store.
      Thanks for watching.

I thought this was my issue, but upon closer examination, one of the crankcase bolts has completely rattled out and fell. 😖

Well... I'd say you got off easy!

@@manabouthome Maybe. The gasket could have sucked inward. I haven’t ran it long enough to test it. I wonder if that’s why so many of them are doing that, because the bolts come loose and lose grip of the gasket.

      @@Brindle_Boxer Good luck with it.

Does it matter what position the governor rod is in when installing the sump plate to engine?

I think all the way counter clockwise, because when you set up the governor linkage it turns all the way clockwise as shown in the video. Thanks for watching.
