Nate. just wanted to say thank you your videos have gotten me through waking up three times in the middle of the night to feed our baby son you’re the man keep it up!
Hey!! I do that too!! I have been watching Nate for years, but while I'm rocking him in the dark for an hour or 2 giving my wife a break, I have finally gone back and bienged, quite a lot of the previous videos.😂
If you made a venn diagram consisting of Bob Ross, Steve Irwin, and LeVar Burton, you would have a hard yime convincing me that Nate the Hoof Guy wouldn't be in the middle! Thank you for all that you do! I hope you never chnage your format, its perfect!
My ten daughter was surprised to see me watch these types of videos because she watches them too! Great work, very satisfying to watch you help these animals.
I think what I like the most from these videos is you don’t seem at all concerned with filming, just the cow and their comfort. Like yes you pull out the camera but you are playing around with angles, getting aesthetic shots, etc. you don’t pay attention to the camera- just the cow. I respect that.
Just wanted to say thank you for putting up these videos. I quite often watch them together with my two youngest sons (5 and 7yrs) old. We started calling the salicylic acid „healing powder“ as I did not know ad hoc how to translate it into German. 😅 They are always feel relieved and happy for the cow when it is applied and wrapped up. 😊
That's strange, I feel like the hoof GP is too rough on the cows and it feels like he's a youtuber first and trimmer second as opposed to Nate, who feels first and foremost a professional trimmer.@@Cricket2731
@@Cricket2731the few ones I saw from GP were less clean than Nate. Blood, cuts in the sole... And he also films himself more, which is not what I come for.
After the cows leave the stall, do you ever follow them and pet them? If so, are they generally open to affection -- do they know it's you who fixed their feet, and they're grateful?
I'm so glad these cows are in your care. You're always so gentle and careful and methodical. I know with a lot of hooves to trim that time is limited, so I appreciate even more that you don't hack and slash at the feet, but you take your time to get the best and most comfortable outcomes.
Absolutely entranced by all of your videos, both here and on Facebook. It’s my daily serotonin boost! Such a calm manner of speaking. I don’t know the first thing about cows, but your videos are both informative and fascinating. Thank you for sharing your work with us!
Cow: oh my hoofs were in a rough shape Anne, but he fixed the issue... I just need to let them grow so they can be filed next time and things will get better. Yeah! He gave me 2 blocks, IKR? Bad shape sis, I tell you, but the best is that I'm pain free. He's so sweet, I love the color of the gauze. Anne: I love the shape she trims your hoofs, such a natural edge... Love it.
I have a question! I'm fairly sure it hasn't been answered in full, or I just forgot... But how often do you usually need to go back to the same farms for regular hoof trimming? Also, out of curiosity, do you have any stories about cases where you messed up with a cow?
hi! so i have a question: once your almost done you (always) place a block on the cows hoof to elevate it so it can rest. i have been wondering if this doesn’t effect in any shoulder problems. i would think this block would result in one of the cows leg being a bit longer then the other. i don’t know if this is true at all but i always think this would cause some problems for the cow since they don’t stand straight anymore but a bit leaned on one side. i would really like to know if this makes any sense at all, or how it works. if anyone knows i am very interested in learning! (ps: sorry if my grammer or sentences don’t make to much sense, english isn’t my first language)
This past week I had surgery and they had me cleanse with chlorhexidine and I was like HEY! Thats what Nate uses!! And I had to chuckle and ask if I was gonna get a salicylic acid wrap. But no one got my joke lol
Hi Nate, Maybe a year ago you went to a farm where a cow had lost her whole hoof capsule, having gotten it stuck in a grate. I wanted to ask … did she grow a new capsule or was she put down? Thanks for the videos my favorite was the cow who seemed to skip and jump following her recheck!
After watching these videos, I almost feel confident enough to do this myself 🤗 While anything is possible, it’s not likely I will ever have the need. Most of my cows arrive chilled on a styrofoam tray.
i find myself watching your vids a lot to add realism/depth to my DnD worlds, since i've always wondered, would hoofed characters like tieflings and centaurs see farriers? would a bipedal hooved character develop the same problems as cows do? cloven vs single hooves? lots of fun stuff- plus these vids are relaxing to me haha
Nate I love these videos. I think you should put together a special hour long compilation of some of your best work 🤩 I always find myself thinking the videos are too short!
Hi Nate , in case you won’t trim the hoof, she might loose it naturally? In case yes , might cause problems to her shoulder by the time? Mine is just curiosity. Thank you
I have watch your videos for over a year. Do you find that one type of cow harder to trim or they all about the same texture? Holstein vs brown Swiss vs Guernsey. Which is harder in texture?
Hey Nate, love your videos. But you don’t have to fast forward through the grinding. I actually like the regular speed for the entire video. Even the grinding is relaxing. I especially like to watch you grind the toes. ❤
How do you know when you've taken enough of the sole? I have no idea why these videos popped up in my feed, I grew up with horses but had no exposure to cows. Even still, I can't get enough of these videos. It's so interesting & I'm learing so much (can't imagine when I'll ever use the knowledge but I don't care 😊).
I was watching a Midwestern Hoof Trimmer video and he talks about using the balance method to trim cow hooves instead of something called the Dutch method. I was curious what kind of method you use or what it's called I mean?
Her spraypaint even matches her wraps, very fashionable. Seems like she was going back and forth from one foot to the other with continuous problems until you managed to fix her up.
It's funny that you made the NASCAR joke. When you said at the beginning of the video that both front feet were affected, I started thinking of a way to make a joke like "Let's see if we can return this girl to all wheel drive"
Hallo Nate. Wieder ein tolles Video. Meine Frage. Merken die Farmer nicht wenn die Kuh Probleme am Huf haben. Es sind doch schwer Entzündung dabei. Liebe Grüße 😊
Are some of the cows natural chatterboxes, mooing or lowing the whole time they are being trimmed? I know you can often hear calves being weened in the background.
See your past videos and then your present videos in where you made indents in the cows hoof before gluing on the block, is the reason for the indents so there is better adhesion and the block won't fall off sooner?
She still doesn't look like she feels very comfortable... But it has to be better than what she was dealing with before for sure! My question is about how many cows get hoof, and if you have an opinion and anecdotal thought, health problems comparatively different herds, and is it the same cows over and over again frequently or is it a variety of cows in a herd. And does being so closely genetically related make a difference? I know a lot more about horse hooves than I do cow hooves, and I'm really interested. I also wonder about wild cattle and cattle like bovine and the frequency of occurrence and types of hoof problems they have.
Does salicylic acid powder always make it look like it snowed a little, just in one spot, after you leave? Or maybe it’s like fairy dust from the hoof fairy!
Recently i had a doctor treat me with a NTHG technique. I had hip replacement and was given a CHLORHEXADINE napkin to scrub with before the procedure. Knew i was in good hands at that point
which liquid do you use in the spray bottle and which powder do you use! I would appreciate an answer! Greetings Hannes ❤🐂🐃🐂❤Can you put a list of your tools and materials in the video description???
Does anyone else watch these to help them fall asleep? I’m like, “What will relax me?” Oh, Nate’s voice and healing cow’s feet, YES.
I do! Its midnight here and I’m watching his videos to wind down. They really relax me.
It’s the angle grinders and voice
Yes I’m watching this for that reason rn
indeed, although it's very interesting, I become sleepy, if watching in the evening 😅
Used to use these videos to get the baby to sleep haha
Never thought I’d say I look forward to hoof trimming videos to calm me down after a long day of work yet here I am fully invested in your channel 🐄

I beg to differ. Nate is just as good as Graeham Parker of Hoof GP. Only difference is, Nate's accent is easier on Yankee ears.

Thank you Nate, I grew up on small ranch and growing up in the 70s, I'm amazed at the technology you have to lift cows legs up so you can work
I don’t know what it is about your hoof trimming videos but they continue to be my go to to wind down before bed, they’re just so calming!!
When both front tires are wearing out on the same side it usually means your camber is off and you need to get an alignment.
😂😂😂
Does that include both on the front or both on the back?
@celihenry3227 It depends on if you have independent suspension at all wheels.
For organic vehicles it's usually independent suspension systems, so guessing I'm putting too much weight at the driver's section?
These are soothing to come back to since I had to put down my cat Ive raised since a kitten. Glad youre back Nate
Oh how I chuckled at your whispered "NASCAR" reference! 2 tire pit stop. Too funny!
