Good list mostly. I'm glad somebody else finally agrees Maganium is great. My list: 10. Ledian(underrated) 9. Steelix 8. Houndoom 7. Skarmory 6. Togetic 5. Ampharos(second favorite electric type) 4. Meganium(with a moveset of Sunny Day, Synthesis, Solarbeam, and Body Slam) 3. Quilava(ADORABLE!!!!) 2. Crobat 1. Scizor(Tied as my favorite pokemon of all time and I'm in love with steel types)
The site Serebii has a great variation where you can find up to most anything of Pokemon. In my own opinion however, Bulbapedia is my favorite since it's easy to find and not so much stuff everywhere. Mostly used by me for looking at a pokemons move set or stats.
Plazmaticus Plaza well for me. Bulbapedia I use it for mostly floors on mystery dungeon and forgotten evolution lines. And I use the Pokemon Database for movesets.
So if Ampharos' Japanese name means Electric Dragon, does that mean that it's Mega Evolution was planned out ever since the Japanese release of Gen 2? Think about that.
10 - Ampharos - I can agree with you yet there are still better Electric types especially later on with Lanturn like you said. 9 - Lugia - It is weird that it doesn't have high attack power for its powerful wings but it does seem to be a good defensive wall. 8 - Meganuim - I does seem to be a great defender, but It's also not my style. 7 - Heracross - Heracross is pretty good and it does have stone edge for flying types, also you really did make a dead giveaway on your favorite bug. 6 - Tyranitar - This Pokemon seems to be very overpowered, but fortunately I also like Fighting types so, TAKE THAT TYRANITAR! 5 - Ho-oh - By far one of my favorite Legendary Pokemon, also some of the mysteries seem to be a little questionable. 4 - Suicune - It does seem pretty cool, but I prefer sweepers, and my favorite of the Legendary Beasts is Entei because of one of the Pokemon movies I can't remember. 3 - Raikou - This one is my second favorite of the three, and the Shiny Raikou makes me feel like I was missing out on event Pokemon. 2 - Scizor - It does seem very good, but because my favorite type is Fire I could take it down easily. 1 - Celebi - Of course I've never had a Celebi but I've also got to say Serebii.net is also my favorite Pokemon site too.
Hey, cjzero01! I saw your Heign list, and I loved it! I got to agree that the Treecko line is a great starter line. The only thing I was like "Really, cjszero01?" was your Regice jokes; god those were terrible (not really). Keep up the good work, and I can't wait to see the regions that I have lived through : Sinnoh and Unnova.
Great list as always, CJ~ My favorite Johto Pokemon is probably Qwilfish. I just think it's so cute! I made a RU team JUST so I could have one. It is too adorable.
Chikorita is my favourite Johto starter line. THANK YOU! He/she is so underrated! With my personal competitive set (Synthesis, Sunny Day, Solarbeam, and Aromatherapy) holding an Eviolite, Bayleef is an awesome support! In NU... Oh well! I don't care about tiers.
Actually the real reason I used it was because I didn't have much time to record the footage and the game wouldn't let me move on until I either fought Lugia or captured Lugia.
Actually I might make that for my channel. I think the only reviews I'll do exclusively for them are the Co-Reviews I do with them, M Rated games, and any games I get through PR (which has been zero at this point but I'm going to try for at least one game). When I'll work on it is something I haven't decided on yet.
I remember when I still had my Heart Gold a random Raikou came out and I caught it with a great ball. Since it was level 40 while my pokemon were level 20-ish, I sweeped
I really like Politoed, especially in gen five because on Alder's first pokemon loves to spam me first, but with Politoed's water absorbing ability gives me a huge advantage.
Another reason is because people want to make sure they get the legendary pokemon with the best nature and IVs possible. Using the masterball eliminates the time you'll waste, and the mistake of possibly making it faint. I don't really consider the legendary pokemon to be bosses, that's usually the gym leaders, the elite four, the champion, your rival, and the boss of the evil organization in the games. To me the Legendary pokemon are supposed to be a challenge to catch, but not really a boss.
Wow I never all of that about Celebi, that's really cool man, espically for the GS ball in the anime the secret about the rival in Soulsilver and Heartgold
Arguably one of my favorite generations in the series but who am I kidding, Generation 2 is my all time favorite Pokemon generation since I grew up with Pokemon Silver and I was really excited when it's remake came out. :D
Cj,you forgot to mention how much of a BEAST Herecross is in battle, especially in Gen 5,where its Dream World Ability is Moxie, and thus making it my favorite Moxie sweeper.
My favourite Johto Pokemon would have to be Tyhplosion, love his speed and movepool, he also looks so cool. Oh yeah I remember on the unova of Krookodile and what song would suit it better (Smooth Criminal and Can't Touch This) and for this vid I have a good song that suits Lugia quite well, David Guetta and Sia's Titanium because the lyrics go well with how hard Lugia can be to kill. "Cut me down, but it's you who'll have further to fall" - against some pokemon like those without taunt who don't have a boosting move or super effective move, they can try to kill lugia but end up being the first to die thanks to Lugia's Toxic (if it's on his moveset) "You shoot me down, but I won't fall, I am Titanium" - due to his defence, a Lugia won't fall fast if at all against weaker attacks. Not used Lugia in ages, but his defence makes him fun to use ;D
nice list CJ! my top favorites in Johto are 10. Scizor (can't raise it higher since I got no one that will trade with me to get one) 9. Granbull 8. Tyranatar 7. Crobat 6. Espeon 5. Skarmory 4. Mantine 3. Heracross 2. Ursuring 1. Typhlosion
My favorite Johto Pokemon is Blissey. She has HUGE Special Defense and HP, and if you slap Calm Mind on her, she becomes a force to be reckoned with. My trusty Blissey, Lily, has gotten me out me out of SO many jams. Nice to see Heracross here. He's awesome! And grats on catching Ho-oh with a Great Ball! Celebi is also great. I'm happy to have a legal one. :D
I love that you put Tyranitar on the list, I'm curently training one for a competive team. (His name is RockyTyTy) He has the Event abilty Unnerve to psyh the opponent out of thinking I'm an "Auto-Sandstorm" person.
I wonder if your love for Grass starters will continue with the other three lists, I am just curious since Grass starters are for the most part my favorite kind of starter (I like venasour, Meganium and Serperior and I love Sceptile and Torterra!), I even already decided for chespin for Gen VI, though I guess I should wait until they show their evolutions, but until then he is my choice.
I don't use Master Balls, I just use special Pokeballs designed for the situation (or Ultra Balls) and keep chucking them until it works. The in-game mechanic says that ONE of them has to work, so just keep tossing until you hear that *click* of victory. If you have the balls that is. (but really, you may need a lot of balls, and it gets expensive at times)
Glad to see Heracross, Lugia and Meganium, Johto has some really cool pokemon. My list: 10) Ho-oh 9) Scizor 8) Kingdra 7) Feraligatr 6) Skarmory 5) Donphan 4) Heracross 3) Lugia 2) Meganium 1) Houndoom
3 things. 1. Great vid as always. 2. Ho-oh in a great ball? Chuggaaconroy A. Caught a shiny koffing whislt recording. Aand B. he caught Groudon. At green health. IN A NEST BALL. 3. The Quil lime/suicune are my Johto faves
in larvitars soulsilver dex entry it has been said that larvitar has to dig out of the ground after cracking out. so why the heck cant it learn dig naturally?
my personal favourite johto pokemon (and favourite pokemon in general) is lugia. it looks so powerful and strong and aeroblast has a high critical hit ratio plus it can use recover and roost to troll those who manage to get it health down
The only problem with the event shiny Raikou is it's nature (+ SpecialAttack - Defense) it's good but it makes it be outsped by every speed raised nature pokemon with speed of 100. Oh well
Yeah, but it's too late to put that in the video. At least now you can look back at this video and understand the connection as to why it's going to be an Electric Dragon type.
10. Togepi Line (Sure, Togepi debuted during the Indigo Saga.) 9. Ledyba Line 8. Phanpy Line 7. Spinarak (especially how it scares Misty) 6. Espeon/Umbreon 5. Entei 4. Totodile Line 3. Scizor 2. Houndour Line (First Dark-Type) 1. Ho-oh
If you want a better way to get wandering legendaries try my method. First use thunderwave, or some other paralyzer. After that hunt them down again with a high level pokemon that knows false swipe until it has one hp...it takes awhile but eventually you can use different pokeballs other than the masterball, i caught Raikou with a quickball doing this
1. While I never got a Mew I at least had a friend who was able to hook me up with one in my Silver version :D I also have it in SoulSilver and Diamond.
But they did not make their first appearance in Jotho. They are first generation pokemon. Otherwise it's like saying Pikachu is a gen 3 pokemon because you can catch it in the Safari Zone in Hoenn.
My Top 10) 10: Espeon (Such a great special attacker) 9: Entei (If only it's move pool was better for it's Physical stat) 8: Togetic (One of the most diverse move pools for a Normal type) 7: Ho-oh (It has a great signature move) 6: Wobbuffet (More character than a story book) 5: Raikou (With Aura Sphere, it's amazing) 4: Cyndaquil (My starter for SS) 3: Lugia (The only reason I got SS over HG) 2: Heracross (One of the best fighting types) 1: Crobat (So damn fast and strong)
5:37 I call this the Chuggaa syndrome, it's when you catch legendaries with pokeballs which would normally necer catch the pokemon, just ask Groundon, Kyogre, Latias, etc.
Disagreeing with an opinion list isn't about criticism. If you want to give me advice on how to make the video better that's a form of criticism, but saying "Oh I don't like your list cause my favorite isn't on there." is not criticism. The idea is I listed my favorites and if yours aren't on there then leave a comment about which ones are your favorites. It's about respecting another persons opinion.
I know in my playthrough of leaf green, I caught an articuno in a poke or great ball at full or near full health. It was over double the level of my strongest pokemon. However, I'm still stuck and unable to catch Moltres. :P
¬¬¬¬¬10. Great 9. I had a feeling it’d be on here 8. For some reason I always choose the grass starters 7. An epic Pokemon 6. Very powerful 5. I knew it would be on here too 4. Really good 3. For some reason I thought it was going to be Entei. 2. Everyone loves it 1. When you said your #1 was a legendary I KNEW it would be #1!
catching ho-oh was a big pain in the butt. No master ball on hand! Used on Mewtwo in SS. Took a bunch of tries but later I caught it only from two ultra balls! Awesome right?
I caught Kyogre with my last pokéball. All my other balls, including ultraballs, greatballs, timeballs, EVERYTHING was used up. So I threw the one Pokéball I had left, and caught it. Man I was screaming.
Fun Fact: Amphoros got a mega with DRAGON typing. So now it's nickname makes sense.
+Megaboss Also, Favorite from Gen 2:
TYRANITAR.
Same
+Megaboss or as I like to call it: GODZILLA!
CJ you just became my favorite youtuber for top tens by putting Celebi, my favorite legendary pokemon, at the top of your list. Liked and favorite.

You caught a Ho-oh in a great ball?
Cool!
Have you caught Groudon in a nest ball?
The site Serebii has a great variation where you can find up to most anything of Pokemon.
In my own opinion however, Bulbapedia is my favorite since it's easy to find and not so much stuff everywhere.
Mostly used by me for looking at a pokemons move set or stats.
Good for you. You have an opinion...👍
Plazmaticus Plaza well for me. Bulbapedia I use it for mostly floors on mystery dungeon and forgotten evolution lines. And I use the Pokemon Database for movesets.
i caught ho-oh by accident at lv 70 with a heal ball. its ivs were all 31 but 0 spec atk and 27 HP. FUCKING AMAZING!
This is an awesome video alongside all of the other pokemon lists. Bravo Cj!
dude i remember when you had 100 subs back in 2008 congrats on making it this far
Entei will always be my number 1. Great list, I'm gonna love seeing all these even though once you pass the third gen I really won't know any pokemon.
it's still a nice coincidence anyway.thanks for taking the time to read through these!
There were three of them in the video. Pokemon Stadium 2, Pokemon Colosseum, and Pokemon Battle Revolution.
Great list as always, CJ~ My favorite Johto Pokemon is probably Qwilfish. I just think it's so cute! I made a RU team JUST so I could have one. It is too adorable.
I like it's colors, it's attack power, and the mystery behind it.
The Sinnoh list is not done yet. I have barely had any time to myself in the past 2 weeks. Making the E3 videos was basically a miracle for me.
2:25 oooo, Sorlax is gonna be sore when he wakes up.
Actually the real reason I used it was because I didn't have much time to record the footage and the game wouldn't let me move on until I either fought Lugia or captured Lugia.
I LOOOOOVE Tyranitar! BTW, I loved your Hoenn list. Hoenn has some of MY favorite Pokemon, too!
Actually I might make that for my channel. I think the only reviews I'll do exclusively for them are the Co-Reviews I do with them, M Rated games, and any games I get through PR (which has been zero at this point but I'm going to try for at least one game). When I'll work on it is something I haven't decided on yet.
Nice choices CJ. I like Typhlosion, Totodile, Umbreon, Heracross, Houndoom, Raikou, Tyranitar, and Lugia among others.
hey cj i was wondering when your going to put your hoenn region video on youtube great list btw
The Houndour line is just freaking cool and it's a perfect example of how to do a Dark/Fire type.

THANK YOU for putting chikorita in the top 10 he is my favorite pokemon.
im happy that lugia is in this list because it was one of my best pokemon nin my party next to my fearow in the silver version
Arguably one of my favorite generations in the series but who am I kidding, Generation 2 is my all time favorite Pokemon generation since I grew up with Pokemon Silver and I was really excited when it's remake came out. :D
Yup, you can EV train those in Black 2 and White 2 without a problem.
Good call on that Tail Glow with Ampharos.

1. Espeon
2. Umbreon
3. Lugia
4. Houndoom
5. Lanturn
6. Typhlosion
7. Teddiursa
8. Ledian (My grandmother loved ladybugs :) )
9. Tyranitar
10. Ampharos
nice list CJ! my top favorites in Johto are 10. Scizor (can't raise it higher since I got no one that will trade with me to get one) 9. Granbull 8. Tyranatar 7. Crobat 6. Espeon 5. Skarmory 4. Mantine 3. Heracross 2. Ursuring 1. Typhlosion
Even without it has a great selection of moves and solid stats.
The spot you showed for Raikou...it's so ironic that THAT'S where I caught it in the originals...XD
hey CJ, I wanted to see your Hoen top 10 earlier from the link, but it says it will not show it on there.
Good to see how well you can handle a difference of opinion.
awesome to see Heracross on this list (his my favorite pokemon )
It's good the title of the video is personal rather than best
I don't use Master Balls, I just use special Pokeballs designed for the situation (or Ultra Balls) and keep chucking them until it works. The in-game mechanic says that ONE of them has to work, so just keep tossing until you hear that *click* of victory. If you have the balls that is. (but really, you may need a lot of balls, and it gets expensive at times)
Glad to see Heracross, Lugia and Meganium, Johto has some really cool pokemon. My list:

8:Tyranitar
7:Sneasle
6:Raikou
5:Scizor
4:Ho-oh
3:Shuckle
2:Ampharos

Ampharos can learn Dragon Pulse at lvl. 50 or something in Gen 6. Because its mega evolution is part dragon
thats nuthing, I caught ho oh with a darkball at day time
You think you can do a video of the emerald glitch because it looks really useful
This video was recommended to me 9 years after it's release lol
Yup, Heracross, Scizor, and Lugia is on this list. You got three of my faves on here :)
Thanks, but remember I also say "I would love to hear your list."
3 things.
There's a redo Co-Reviewed of Majora's Mask in my review playlist.
Good list. :) Hope you had a good Memorial Day.
my personal favourite johto pokemon (and favourite pokemon in general) is lugia. it looks so powerful and strong and aeroblast has a high critical hit ratio plus it can use recover and roost to troll those who manage to get it health down
In one playthrough of Pokémon Platinum, I caught a Uxie within the first 3 or 4 turns with an ultra-ball! Azelf was still a huge pain to catch.
The only problem with the event shiny Raikou is it's nature (+ SpecialAttack - Defense) it's good but it makes it be outsped by every speed raised nature pokemon with speed of 100. Oh well

10. Togepi Line (Sure, Togepi debuted during the Indigo Saga.)

And where exactly did you find this information?
Are you going to do a list of your favorite Pokemon from the Kalos region once you beat X or Y?
If you want a better way to get wandering legendaries try my method. First use thunderwave, or some other paralyzer. After that hunt them down again with a high level pokemon that knows false swipe until it has one hp...it takes awhile but eventually you can use different pokeballs other than the masterball, i caught Raikou with a quickball doing this
hey cj, are you ever planning on making a review for any of the smash bros games.
1. While I never got a Mew I at least had a friend who was able to hook me up with one in my Silver version :D I also have it in SoulSilver and Diamond.
There was also a time I caught an Articuno with a Pokeball, just thought I'd bring that up.
WAT
Aw yeah. Scizor #2. :D
My personal #1 favorite Pokemon of all time. Haha. Such a great Pokemon. Great list this is too! :D Excited for Gen. 3 list!
I know I'm going to sound impatient but when will the Hoenn list be on youtube? And did you already made the Sinnoh List?
Two words: Dusk Balls. They are the answer to legendary pokemon that don't flee.
But they did not make their first appearance in Jotho. They are first generation pokemon. Otherwise it's like saying Pikachu is a gen 3 pokemon because you can catch it in the Safari Zone in Hoenn.
My Top 10) 10: Espeon (Such a great special attacker) 9: Entei (If only it's move pool was better for it's Physical stat) 8: Togetic (One of the most diverse move pools for a Normal type) 7: Ho-oh (It has a great signature move) 6: Wobbuffet (More character than a story book) 5: Raikou (With Aura Sphere, it's amazing) 4: Cyndaquil (My starter for SS) 3: Lugia (The only reason I got SS over HG) 2: Heracross (One of the best fighting types) 1: Crobat (So damn fast and strong)
of course, i loved 2nd gen. pokemon like Murkrow, Elekid, Xatu and Chinchou i just liked when i first saw them.
You should play Mystery Dungeon Explorers of Sky. Its cheap and its probaboly my favorite Pokemon game. Also great video.
10:Totadile Line
9:Chikorita Line
8:Mareep Line
7:Cyndaquil Line
6:Raikou
5:Umbreon
4:Lugia
3:Scizor
2:Suicune
1:Entei
I like that u pick a lot of powerhouse pokemon
¬¬¬¬¬10. Great
9. I had a feeling it’d be on here
8. For some reason I always choose the grass starters
7. An epic Pokemon
6. Very powerful
5. I knew it would be on here too
4. Really good
3. For some reason I thought it was going to be Entei.
2. Everyone loves it
1. When you said your #1 was a legendary I KNEW it would be #1!
catching ho-oh was a big pain in the butt. No master ball on hand! Used on Mewtwo in SS. Took a bunch of tries but later I caught it only from two ultra balls! Awesome right?
Ampharos' mega evolution... makes it a dragon. Bam Jumped to number 1 instantly
I still don't understand why Lugia is Psychic- Flying. Why not make it Water-Flying
Hey cj, how do you think about my favorite Jotho pokemon: Skamory, Gliscor and Houndoom?
with what he said about lantern was appealing to get the stop but I luv the epic twist AMPHAROS!!!!
*Ampharos on the list*
INCREDIBLY HAPPY!
I caught Kyogre with my last pokéball. All my other balls, including ultraballs, greatballs, timeballs, EVERYTHING was used up. So I threw the one Pokéball I had left, and caught it. Man I was screaming.
Whoops, read that wrong. My move list was Aura Sphere, Weather ball, Rain Dance and Thunder.
Is it possible to naturally obtain Celebi here in 'Murica? (If it requires online play, that's not an issue or whatnot)
Nice stop n swop reference on lugias entry. :D
