Changing my Renderer (upper right corner) from CINEMA 4D to Classic 3D solved my issue with Focus Distance/Aperture not working. It's Classic 3D in the video. Hope this helps some people. Great videos on this channel, BTW, Subscribed!

@@EliasSarantopoulos I have the focus distance the same as what I want to focus in on... it doesn't focus on what I want Edit: I have linked the focal distance to a layer and that worked
@@kirkris7563 Andrew look inside the combination of Focus Distance and Aperture, usually those two make the out of focus effect. Also don't forget to turn ON the depth of field. Hope this helps. 😀 👋
when i turn my aperture up (even as high as 15,000) i dont see any depth of field changes, and i made sure to have my layers in different Z planes.. any advice?
For some reason when I increase the aperture and set the focal distance and basically do everything you described in this tutorial, the background just doesn't blur.

Hello, when I try to utilize the camera tool to zoom in, the numbers don't change on the two key frames selected and there is no change in movement. Could you please help?
Just follow the tutorial and you will be fine! Remember, planning ahead will take you a long way and you will see better results. For example, I create everything inside Photoshop or Illustrator and all comes perfect inside After Effects. Thank you! 😀

Great Video Only problem I faced were the aperture and the focus just wouldn't seem to work with me. again awesome video.
Just make sure the Depth of Field is enabled on the Camera settings. Try that and see Heba! Thank you. 😀

Did you place the Focus Distance correctly?
For some reason when I increase the aperture and set the focal distance and basically do everything you described in this tutorial, the background just doesn't blur.
Sometimes a locked layer can do that. You can zip all the folders with all your assets and I can take a look if you wish. Let me know. Thank you.

Hi! can´t find the option "point of interest" there's though an "anchor point option", is that the same?
The Point of Interest refers to the camera, some don't bother to use it manually but I do to get better control of the motion. Hope this helps 😃

Having the DOF ON is just one paremeter, how about the Camera Focus Distance, did you set that up on the 3D axis, how about the Blur values? 😀👋
