I want to take a moment to thank you. I started learning After Effects in 2017 by watching tutorials and back then every tutorial on youtube made me feel like I have so much to learn. Since then I've been learning the software and making a living out of it. As this video came to my feed, I got excited to learn something new, but to my surprise I found that I already knew everything mentioned in this video. And that made me realize how far I have come with this tool and it's all thanks to channels like yours that helped me each step of the way. I really appreciate all the help you're handing out for free to people trying to learn.
This was awesome! Thanks so much for these tips! There’s SO much to learn with AE and it’s nearly impossible to figure this stuff out without someone showing you how! I appreciate your videos so much!
Wow, I am quite new to all this video editing stuff, but this few minutes feels to me like a whole hour course with just the important parts. Thats awesome. Thank you. You got yourself a new abo 😀
my dumbass didn't even know the continuously rasterize button at 5:20 even existed, here i was creating vectors in illustrator wayyyy bigger than they should be and then sizing them down 🤣 wow
да друг, если бы это знать вначале своего пути по освоению графики, а то приходилось или методом тыка или выискивать на ютюбе по крупице, да еще и все было на английском языке, спасибо интересное видео)
I'm a newb to this stuff... but I usually use the transform tool to animate my text. In the video you mentioned we "shouldn't" be using the transform properties but rather the animate properties instead. why so? what does one have over the other when it comes to animating text?
Great question! With the basic transform properties, you can only animate the entire title at once. With the text animate properties, you can animate each letter of the title. Also, you can add way more properties and have access to more settings.
@@SonduckFilm thanks for the explanation. Love your teams work. Honestly, your channel is one of my top places to learn about AE. thanks and keep up the great work
Cool vid. I'd say you need to know 100 more things than just this. - in fact, it would be nice to get a video from all the experts, showing those 100 things in a quick edit like this, even if the video is a hour long. Having experienced the DEPTH of the Blender community, Adobe AE community really really needs to up it's game.
How would I go about doing a 3D path animation like the one shown at 2:02? I was trying to mess around with 3D but not sure how to angle the letters perpendicularly to the shape they're tracing.
That background image you use in your thumbnail is amazing. Can we creat it in after effect and add little animation for Animated Background Footage❓️❓️
I think I might be doing something wrong. I added the duplicate and placed it above the text and changed the text setting to 1. layer but the text isn't showing "above the text" . I'm still a newb with After Effects so I'm definitely doing something wrong I'm just not sure what.
Hey, @sonduckfilm, how did you center everything? For instance, when I expand my title horizontally ("Animation 2"), the first letter of the title stays put why everything else expands right-ward.
I did EXACTLY the same as your instructions for the 'Rotary' text, however, not sure why but when I used the 'number of echoes' mine didn't multiply like yours.... why would mine not multiply, is there a setting you have on as default that I may not be aware of. (Beginner) TYIA
Nice tutorial. I want to create some magic attack skills VFX for game characters can I do that in After Effects & is there any tutorials I can learn? Thanks
Sorry but as an educator and content creator maybe you could speak a little slower for better understanding of what you're saying. After Effects have one million options, settings, technical words, and even slowing down the video it's hard to understand every word you say.
He did great for me. If you're struggling to comprehend even after repeating or slowing down, you're most probably lacking fundamentals. In that case, this isn't the video for that. If you have the basic memory of how the basic functionalities work, you won't struggle understanding what he says. Normally, I would ignore a comment like this but if other beginners are watching, sometimes "too fast" means you're lacking the "ABCs" to speak the language articulately, even at a beginner level.
Talking too fast was the same thought I had too and went right into the comments to see if anyone else felt the same way, yours was the first one that showed up. Great and very informative video yes, but if animators are keen on the importance of pacing and timing in a visual sense, as educators they should apply the same principles to their verbal presentations.
go job on screwing up, 10 files are missing in your download, and second filling up your form to let you know, Go Daddy tells me that my IP is blocked Verzion DHCP, so much I like you guys but this makes people run away fast

Thank you so much Pam! Agreed! I sometimes have to do research from time to time just to figure out how to do something haha Thanks for the support :)

Thankyou so much. This is so easy and it works perfectly
Amazing!!! So much in so little time!!!
Such an awesome video, thank you !!
Do you have any course from beginner to advanced? This is legit brilliant. Keep inspiring mate!
my dumbass didn't even know the continuously rasterize button at 5:20 even existed, here i was creating vectors in illustrator wayyyy bigger than they should be and then sizing them down 🤣 wow
Track Matte needs to be set to Luma matte for the first effect to work.
Being new to AE, your comment was incredibly important as it wasn't mentioned in the video, some people assume we all know. Thank you
Wirklich einfach genial unschlagbar Weiter so 5 Sterne
Thank you for the tips great work
This video just made my life so much easier
Amazing! Thank you very much, super helpful and easy to understand :)
So much informative techniques!
This is awesome! This list is filled with the things I wish I knew when I was just starting out so this is an excellent guide for starters!
Thank you! :)
Excelent tutorial bro, pls make more 🙂🙌🏻
It was a little fast, even inI already know all these hints. Great job btw!!
You should mention it's necessary to have a little practice of AE 😉
Noted! Thank you!
Very handy video. Just a question: Why would you not want to use the transform to animate text ?
Excellent tips, buddy. Lookin' good.
Thanks boss! Good to see you again. I appreciate it :)
For your effect at the end of #3 with the jagged lines, how did you get the lines going thinner as they went down?
да друг, если бы это знать вначале своего пути по освоению графики, а то приходилось или методом тыка или выискивать на ютюбе по крупице, да еще и все было на английском языке, спасибо интересное видео)
Great overview - thanks
Thanx
Cool stuff, Thanks!

PRICELESS INFO!!
Unbelievable!
great you said
auto-orient is verry useful thanks a lot dude keep doing videos
Wow, amazing contents.
You are very pro brother
Gold! Thanks!
Superb 😍🤩

Change Track matte of Texture Layer from Normal to Luma Matte.
Muchas gracias, funciona perfectamente, te has ganado el like, la suscripción y todo XD

very informative!
very useful content, long live creators
So sick bro. Talk a little slower some stuff I have to rewind like 4 times
Very useful skills for me but why my tracking animate is not dilate from center like you? :
thank you very much
Which computer do you recommend to use for ae? Thank you!
I'm sadly not a tech guy. I'm using a computer I bought in 2018. A good rule of thumb, the more RAM the better.
@@SonduckFilm 128gb 🤡
Great👍.
Where is the link to the first skill tutorial?
I did EXACTLY the same as your instructions for the 'Rotary' text, however, not sure why but when I used the 'number of echoes' mine didn't multiply like yours.... why would mine not multiply, is there a setting you have on as default that I may not be aware of. (Beginner) TYIA
I would assume that there is not animation on your text. Echo only works when there is movement to the layer you applied it too.
Nice tutorial. I want to create some magic attack skills VFX for game characters can I do that in After Effects & is there any tutorials I can learn? Thanks
How do I change the After Effects menu font color?
amazing
Veryyyy nice
what font is that? its way toooooo clean
I'm not sure which section of the video you are referring too, but most likely it's Montserrat
@@SonduckFilm okay thank you!! I love your channel so much!!
Next episode: Puppet animation (continuation for the vector graphics)
Awesome
The track matte technique doesn't work at all with video. Please slow down man.
download link doesn't work
Ok I’m done with cupcap😏😏😏
Skill 5 - Part 1 - faster way: Overlord! - part 2: auto-orient layer
I still feel confused trying to remember everything
🎉
La question est: "Where do we go from here ?"
first

Just reduce the playback speed from video settings
I understood everything he said. You need to listen faster.

the fundamentals are explained, but the interesting details not. Dissapointing.
You talk too fast
Awesome
