You are doing great!!! So please stop putting yourself down! It's always lovely to watch another of your videos!! I have a hard time deciding since I like all their songs, but I like the early look better too! Ask people to also like and share. Have a great day my friend 🙂

Back in the late seventies and eighties I taught pre kindergarten. I always taught them Yellow Submarine and All Together Now.I also incorporated arts and crafts with Yellow Submariine.I also played mix tapes with Beatles and solo songs in the classroom and playground. These songs gave such a positive mood.I love Reolver too..Thank you and keep playing the pipes of peace..

My favorite album is Abbey Road. I grew up with that record. My favorite song is....can't answer, there is too much! Paul is also my favorite Beatle and I love Wings too. I enjoy his solo material the most out of the 4. The later era has always been my favorite but lately the early era has been moving to the top. I have been listening to the early records and really digging them. They really are quite a talented band. You do a fine job making videos and I enjoy them!

Katie, your great. What I enjoyed most about this one, was I learned a lot about you. Your feelings, like about Rigby and Let it Be. How Paul's music touch's your soul. So cool. Pleased to hear your first week at school went well. Don't worry, you're gonna be fine. You have a good heart; the world needs more people like you. Maybe that's why He placed you here.
I love your buttons; I wish I could have zoomed in and read them. I collect them myself, plus coffee mugs and t-shirts. The video you did w/the Sun Records t-shirt on? I went to the Sun web site and snagged one myself!
My fav. album? One wk. it's the White Album (which I was surprised u didn't mention) the next Abbey Road.
Song? In my top 10 are Hey Jude, Strawberry Fields, Something and The Long and Winding Road.
Fav. LP cover? MMT and Rubber Soul. Well, I did not set out to write a book here. Ha Ha Take care n' God Bless. 🤠

Aww, thank you! I’m so happy you enjoyed that! :-) And that is just very kind of you-I really appreciate it. That’s the sort of thing I’ll keep in mind during the week when I’m starting to get a bit down. ❤️ Thank you, maybe I’ll do a video where I can incorporate showing the pins up close. I’d like to, anyway, haha. It’s so cool you bought a Sun Studios shirt! I hope you really love it! 👍 Also, those are some great favorites, thanks for sharing them! Can’t go wrong with any of them for sure. 😄 Thanks for watching!

Hey Katie, enjoyed your picks. Very hard to pick favorites with this group for sure! Album for me right now is Pepper,White and A.Road love the later day sound so anything from Rubber Soul forward is their best. Love Eleanor Rigby with lyrics and without fantastic song. John is my pick for member and movie is Let It Be ( the original 1970 one) I am of the age that Paul was actually a Beatle when I started liking them so I enjoy your take as a young fan it is really refreshing. Take care.

I like the live performances on the Hollywood Bowl. George Martin was able to take two shows of 1964 and 1965 and seamlessly arranged the songs into a live set performance. It has that live set consistency about it like a genuine live performance

Did you say you were studying piano? What do you think of The Beatles use of the instrument? I love, for example, the simple eloquence of the intros to You Never Give Me Money and Golden Slumbers.
Top 5 Beatles songs ( I'm gonna regret this)
Hey Jude Strawberry Fields I'm Looking Through You Here There and Everywhere and...wait for it
Martha My Dear (that melody, it's ever changing direction, is perfect) . That list might be different in an hours time.

    • @katiegl
      @katiegl  ปีที่แล้ว

Yes, I’m studying piano as my instrument of focus. :-) I think the Beatles used piano in so many different creative ways. Lady Madonna is an extremely catchy and unique usage of piano, in my opinion. And Martha My Dear, as you mentioned (it’s one of my favorites, too!), is genius. I think Paul especially has a knack for great piano melodies and accompaniment. Also, your favorite song list is fire! 👍 So many great ones!

I also like Paul’s masterful performance of Yesterday he played on a live concert in 1965.He plucks the strings on his acoustic just like he would pluck his bass and gives that classic sound as it was originally recorded. Funny how he doesn’t seem to play it that way anymore

    Hi Katie
Couple of recommendations for you. Have you seen the movie I Wanna Hold Your Hand? A fun movie about these teens who go on a road trip to see the Beatles at the Ed Sullivan Show (for different reasons for some of the teens on trip). It's directed by Robert Zemeckis (Back to the Future) and Spielberg is Executive Producer.
Also, The Beatles Complete Chord songbook. It's what I've been using to learn their songs on guitar. It has all their songs. One thing about their songs, they write a lot of difficult chords...lol. such as barre chords which can be difficult for smaller fingers.

    • @katiegl
      @katiegl  5 หลายเดือนก่อน

Hi, thanks so much for the recommendations! :-) I have seen I Want to Hold Your Hand, and I thought it was a pretty funny movie! It was a cute idea for a film, and I think they did it well. 😄 And I don’t have the chord book, but I will definitely consider it! It’s always great to be able to play almost any of their songs (depending on the difficulty, haha). Thanks so much, my friend! 👍

Hi Katie, excellent video! I just found you last night while surfing the net. There are other Beatle Collection people too and everyone is so cool. However, you are my favorite I think because of your personality and delivery. You also come across as a friend. My favorite Beatle album is easy (believe it or not) but its Magical Mystery Tour. It was one of my first albums ever, so it has meaning. My favorite Beatles song is Hello Goodbye. It doesn't have great meaning but there is NO song like that and there will never be! Also, Rain is a close second because it sounds like it was recorded today and not in 1966. Favorite Beatle is Paul. I used to look like him a little and I am basically a nice guy like him. I may be like George in that I am a spiritual person with worldly side too much at times. Fave era is 1966/1967. Great music and they all looked super cool at that time. Film would be MMT but its hard to find! Well Katie, that's about it for now but thanks again for all your videos! Love your jacket too!

During the early “mop top” years John is my favorite. His voice was incredible, he was writing the bulk of the songs - I loved him in “Hard Days Night”, and I always felt that he looked so cool on the cover of “Rubber Soul”. But starting from “Sgt Pepper” for the rest of the Beatles period and during the solo years to the present my favorite has been Paul McCartney. And this is not meant as a major criticism on John Lennon - he was brilliant for most of the duration of his career. But Paul to me, ended up being the most relatable and consistent from 67’ onwards. My 3 sisters who were all older than me were all always George fans though.. “Sgt Pepper” is probably my favorite album of all time. Even though I was only seven years old when it came out, it made such an impression - it was so absorbing and it was just - magical, is the only word for it. And the album packaging, I would just stare at it and read all the lyrics. The whole thing made such an impact. That being said, the album that I seem to put on the most is - or are, I should say, the various configurations of “Please, Please Me” - the original UK version, or the US versions, “Introducing The Beatles”, or “The Early Beatles”… Very hard to nail down a favorite Beatles song, but “Here Comes The Sun”, “I Want To Hold Your Hand”, If I Fell”, “Nowhere Man”Penny Lane”, and “Martha My Dear” are the perennial favorites for me…. Sorry for rambling on - thanks for sharing your thoughts on the Beatles. 👍

My three favorite Beatles albums are exactly the same as yours but I would rank Sgt. Pepper at the top. Revolver and Magical Mystery Tour (hmmm); I guess they are tied for second place. I mean you've got Eleanor Rigby, as you pointed out, Good Day Sunshine, Tomorrow Never Knows, I'm Only Sleeping and then there's Fool On the Hill, Hello Goodbye; not to mention Penny Lane and Strawberry Fields Forever. I can't decide which to place above the other so it's a tie. My favorite song has always been and remains A Day In the Life. I would place Help at the top of the list of films they made as a group. While I love A Hard Day's Night, it is flawed somewhat in my opinion by the inclusion of Paul's "grandfather". Apart from that, I think it's a great film (it always feels so terribly 'British' to me).
I also agree with you that Let It Be has a definite spiritual quality to it. It's a message that is timeless and uplifting (we need more of that today). I also find that same quality in The Long and Winding Road. It probably wasn't intended to be taken that way (most likely the 'you' in the song is a lover) but on the other hand....
I'm glad you enjoy making these videos because I enjoy watching them. You do a great job. I'm looking forward to your next one. 🤠

Aww, it’s cool that we basically agree on everything! I’m also glad I’m not the only one to feel a spiritual thing from Let It Be and The Long And Winding Road. My mom actually mentioned, like you did, something about how the ‘you’ in the latter song makes you wonder a bit about who he’s talking about. It’s very interesting to play around with that idea. And thank you so much, I really appreciate it! 😊

REVOLVER is my 2nd and THE WHITE ALBUM is my 3rd; my 3 favorite songs are "I Saw Her Standing There", "Tomorrow Never Knows" and "Blackbird"; my favorite member is Paul McCartney too! (for me he's the most creative); my favorite movie is HELP! too (for me is the funniest of all); my favorite Beatles' era is the 1962-1963 period, because they enjoyed their fame so much in that days, they were also more young and natural!
I also love the first Ringo's album, "Sentimental Journey", it's very nostalgic ❤

@@katiegl One curiosity: in the beginning, director Richard Lester named the Beatles' second movie "Eight Arms To Hold You" (and initially this was the working title name of the film), but when he hearded the John's composition "Help!", he thought it was a very catchy song and decided to change the name of the movie to that title 👍

@@katiegl another curiosity: in the beginning, the album Revolver had another titles: first, they named it "Abracadabra", but there was another group using that name; then it was changed to "Beatles On Safari", but soon was changed to "Magic Circles"; finally, they decided to name the album "REVOLVER", taking the reference from the "revolutions" of a vinyl when it's being played

Revolver and Sgt Peppers are among my favourites, but it's the White Album that takes me to a special place. If you have the chance, try listening to their mono discography too. It's not a stereo fold-down, but completely different mixes from the same songs.

Album: Revolver, i love everysingle song of that album especially tomorrow never knows, i want to tell you and here there and everywhere
Song: It will be easier to say what song i didnt love lol cause i always hear all of their album and love every song i guess that i will pick 1 song from every beatle member whitin you without you, across the universe, octopus garden and all my loving
Member: from the early beatles i say that is john his rock n rolls voice it just fits perfectly to that era and for after i cant say if i like more george or paul george made some amazing song i love them all but i guess that i will stick with paul cause his importance for the band was something vital after the death of brian epstein
Movie: Help! The movie is very funny and the soundtrack is really good
Era: even tho im a hard fan of the rock n roll from the 50s and early 60s the late beatles music is just sublime i love it more then the early beatles however i would still pick the early beatles all of that energy that you can hear on their studio albums and in their live shows was unmatched at that time and they were pretty close to each other

    My list:
    Revolver
    A Day in the Life
John barely over Paul (I thought John was slightly better the first half of their run and Paul better the second half). I liked John’s early Beatles era singing voice better than Paul’s. Weirdly John seemed to lose it after recording Hey Bulldog. John’s early voice had a roughness to it that Paul’s didn’t for me, though both are/were great singers. John’s was more like drinking Classic Coke (with a hard bite in the back of your throat when you swallowed. Paul’s was more like Pepsi, more of a sweetness. Both great, but different styles. Paul is the greatest song writer in history, imo. No one comes close to the number of great tunes he’s written in his career.
    Help!
    Early Beatles
You have a great voice, both singing and talking. Your videos are interesting. Your singing is quite good. I wish you would sing the whole song, though, instead of a small sample. I didn’t realize at first that you sang on here. I was watching the collection videos. I was a little taken aback at how good Eleanor Rigby sounded.
An interesting future video might be ranking the Beatles albums most favorite to least favorite.
Also other group’s songs that sound like The Beatles. Check out Lies by the Knickerbockers. The lead singer sounds like a dead ringer for 1965/66 era John Lennon.

Wow, what a wonderful list! 👍 Yes, the way you described John and Paul’s voices was spot on. Very good assessment. :-) And thank you so very much! That means the world to me! 😊 I really would like to do full covers of songs-I just haven’t had the time as of late. Maybe eventually I’ll get to it, though. 👍 And a Beatles album ranking would be great! Thanks for the idea, and thanks for the song recommendation! I really appreciate it!

Katie was very clear that was not the case, she totally emphasised and stressed that point, but still you don't believe it. First of all, a major error in your video needs to be corrected: NOBODY makes better videos than you. Nobody!
Ok, my fave album(s): hard to pick one, but my top 3 are Revolver, R Soul and Pepper. I actually curate my own versions of their albums, drop the tracks I don't like and add in relevant singles. For example, I add Penny Lane and Strawberry Fields to Pepper and kick out Mr Kite; I nuke about a third of the White Album and add Hey Jude and Revolution; Run For Your Life gets the boot and We Can Work It Out and Daytripper get added to R Soul. MMT and Yellow Sub I don't consider as 'real' albums (MMT was an EP and Capitol added singles to make an album; YSub had only 4 new songs) so I make a combined album of those two (without PL and SFF as I include those on Pepper). Let It Be is a mess, so I created my own version of Get Back. Etc.
Fave song: Dear Prudence. Lots of other honourable mentions, too many to list.
Fave member: Don't really have one, but if I had to choose it would be Lennon with Macca a close second. That's based on music only, I don't care about personal stuff too much, they all have good points and bad points (more good than bad though!).
Fave movie: don't have one. Their movies are not great artistic achievements as such, they are more like vehicles for their music.
Fave era: the psychedelic era mostly, building up from 65 and fading towards the end.
Your talking: mate, your talking is anything but annoying, as I have said elsewhere you don't talk AT us, your style is talking TO us and WITH us, so ramble on all you want, your voice is pleasant and what you say is always interesting and/or likeable because you're an intelligent person who is very nice :)

I’m especially with you on Dear Prudence and the psychedelic era, though I understand all of the choices, haha. And thank you, I’m so glad you don’t find that I’m rambling! I’m so self-conscious of how I convey what I’m trying to say, so that really helps me out. :-) Have a great weekend!

    • @Ash-fd6lw
      @Ash-fd6lw ปีที่แล้ว

@@katiegl Curating albums is easy to do with playlists. And you can choose whichever version of a song you like best (mono, stereo, Giles remix, etc). You can even make 'post-Beatles' Beatles albums by mixing up their solo stuff (maybe that could be a topic for a future video 🤔)! As for being self-conscious - don't be! Your best asset is yourself, nobody does you like you do, you are what makes your channel unique. So just be yourself and your fanbase will love you for it :)
