Pokémon cards are notorious for warping when left out. This is why they bend, and how to fix it.
I have a much more detailed and informative written version of this over at SleeveNoCardBehind.com

I'll pass. I find it more effective driving over them with my car.
Aw hell nah💀💀
Use low profile tyres.
My suggestion for that would be to purchase and F1 car and use slick tires. Make sure you use them on a straight so both the front and back tires go over them.
🤣🤣🤣🤣
Honestly if they're sleeved well it probably would work
Man I was thinking some of my cards were a lost causes. Thank you for this video
I stored a Pokémon card in a perfect sleeve in a one touch 35pt case. Just for the helluva it. After months during the winter, i decided to reorganize my tcg and took that same card out of the case and it curved tremendously!
great vid bro! loved it! The way you explained everything down to how you show the process, i see potential!
Thank you so much
That's probably why they are called "Car-d's", cause you can just drive over them with your car to flatten them. Also finally someone found a use for books.
💀
Or because it’s in the shape of a car, 4 sides, a-b-c-D, so car-D
Thats not even funny bruv
I knew there was a reason I kept my university textbooks from 2005
I was cleaning the basement yesterday & went to a shoe box I put on a bottom shelf, I had no idea what was in it. Daughter mentioned years ago it was art supplies from her primary school. I asked her a few years ago what she did with all the Pokemon cards I bought her & she told me she threw them out. Grrr. I flip open the box & was shocked to find thousands of Pokemon cards from 1996 to 2001. I was absolutely shocked! I had spent a fortune on individual cards in the 2000's and there they were. Warped but there they were. I do a lot of masonry work so what I did was cut two small sheets of very expensive polycarbonate which they use for bullet proof glass put each sheet, one on the bottom, one on the top and then grabbed a few bricks for compression strength, one on the bottom, two on the top. The poly keeps the cards from uneven marks on the masonry bricks and the weight of the bricks flattens the card in a few days. We're also doing your process as we have so many holos only our one end table has a piece of marble that weighs a ton. We put them in books and bookmarked the pages. Daughter's college books came in handy again after years. Place the marble slab over top and we wait for those to straighten out. She is submitting her cards to PSA since she only stared at them as a child. Just to mention that PSA is a royal pain with their entire process of submitting cards. Since when are we, the accidental collector of Pokemon cards pros at telling PSA what grade we believe them to be? I believe that is to acquire the initial fees as when you think you have a graded 10 card they hit you with a higher price right off the bat and no they will not refund any money if it grades below a mint gem 10. Slick. If you submit cards in an incorrect manner they will ding you for anything you do incorrectly in the process. Nice racket if you can get into it. They have that long standing rep though with history to draw all collectors to their investment firm.
Great video. I heard grading houses do not ding a hit on a warped card. We'll see, although the cards being submitted are not warped as we also found her Pokemon binder with other holos buried in her closet. If we ever move again I guess we should unpack boxes considering I was angry over her throwing them out for years. I subbed, daughter is also a gamer & now a Pokemon collector & since this fall they're doing an Anniversary release of the original 151 cards she has gone bananas. Pokemon & Yu Gi Oh were her life growing up & Gen Z is now getting into their nostalgic childhoods, just like us Boomers. Uh, it was the Yu Gi Oh cards she thew out. Logan Paul has really done a great thing for Pokemon. Not that Pokemon ever went away but it has had its peaks & valleys.
I'm glad to hear that you found the old cards, what an amazing experience that is!
Your a chad
you made a refreshingly polished youtube Video, no bullshit just straight to the point, keep it up buddy
my left ear rlly enjoying this video
I just put a stack in a wooden drawer, the weight of other cards and put a tape measure on the top to add some more weight. Works great. Did it with all my base set, fossil, and jungle set
OK so I suffered the same issue as you, with holos curling backwards like that. You are right that its because of humidity, but humidity can go both ways
Too much humidity and foils will curl forward
Too little humidity and foils will curl backwards, like yours/mine.
Out of the two, too little humidity is easier to fix. I bought 65% bovea humidity packs from a cigar shop (1 is like 5-8$) and put my card in a small sealed container with the card and checked on it every 12 hrs.
After a day or two it was completely flat.
I got a humidifier where I keep my cards and bought a humidity meter to track the levels and as it went up, after a week I saw a bunch of cards in the room flattening.
There are vids of people putting cards in cigar humidors to increase the humidity, but all this only works if your holos are curled backwards like in the vid, this means there is too little humidity
Another vid for example th-cam.com/video/MkdNZcY90jI/w-d-xo.html
Ugh thanks now I need to make a new video lol great info
This comment should definitely be pinned or something 😂 super helpful and insightful stuff thanks to the both of you 😊
My left ear didnt like this video
nice thanks for the tip, btw your commentary audio is only on the left send just so you know, keep up the good work friend
This was one of my first videos and I exported the audio wrong! Thanks for watching and thanks for the feedback
Nice vídeo! But it didnt show any method To unbent The cards ~100% efecttive. Thanks anyway!
The book method will 100% fix a warped card, it just needs the right amount of time. I'm sorry if that point wasn't clear. I will get better!
@@sleevenocardbehind you were clear lol
Because they are being cheap compared to the good old days they never did that
Try living in the south south when there is always high humidity. It really sucks cause when you go buy these cards they already bending even from the store brand new.
0:01 My left ear tickles
So the real answer is: lmao you're fucked if you didn't open you card in a dehumidified bunker and keep them there. Good to know.
I tried to iron mine that didn’t work so I tried a steamroller, also failed. Please help
I’m extra extra extra extra 😂 Nice job!
To the point, no faffing. Great video 👍🏼
Do curves really not affect the grade a bunch of cards I been pulling have slight curves to them right out the pack and I've been a little uneasy about it
I’ve personally sent curved cards that have come back as 9’s and 10’s
so I tried double sleeving my shiny Charizard and it bent so we are trying this and hope it works but it still has a crease
You creased the card while inserting the card into the sleeve or did the perfect fit sleeve warp/bend your card?
@@RobertPaulson87 inserting
Cool, that is so great. It is worth recommending
Had my card in cases in storage just got them out to see thay this had happened
Lies.... I tried it with a book and nothing worked.......
Was it a short book?
@@nicemilk8830 no.. maybe it was a goosebump hardcover, I tried to use it to flatten those Yu-Gi-Oh cards and it only made them worse.
@@sag4186 I used 2 pieces of wood to fix my cards😀
I find if you do the book method, leave it alone! People keep checking it to see if it works, and it doesn't becaue it takes time, give it two weeks to a month and then check it.
Thank you! Super helpful 😄
I should make a video using my hydraulic press
Perfect video length boss
Do they warp because of to much moisture or to little moisture?
I believe both can occur, but most people I’ve spoken too have too much humidity
Really liked this video :D I have some bend cards and will try this for sure :D
this is one of the videos that you click on for 1 reason only, and it's at the very end. Enough with your introduction and side context nobody asks for man. Get to the point.
Thank for the feedback!
These methods are nice for a handful of cards, but for dealing with a few hundred or thousand they quickly lose viability
I bought 151 at release and my cards were bowed forward like this straight out the pack, good to know the bowing will not affect the grade and you can flatten yourself with some weight. WIll be more careful where I am buying in future I got from a large retail store they probably didn't store them very well (cold warehouse, outside, back of vans etc.)
I just found a few sleeved holos in my climate controlled storage unit, and I noticed they had a curve to them. I couldn’t remember if I left them that way. Thankfully I have my heavy hitters in a sleeve/ top loader combo. Glad to know they are safe! Thanks for the info!
Would it be a good idea to place a blank sheet of printer paper in front and behind the card before closing the book? Because the book's pages are already saturated with heavy inks, so it should theoretically allow for any excess moisture to transfer over to the blank printer paper.
I have experience cards being bent when I get them. (Yu-Gi-Oh mostly, but sometimes Pokémon) The promo holos are the worse at this. Though I do have ringed binders that might be doing this as well. Like I restarted collecting after 20 years, and back then my storage was like the box they came in or a crayon box. Though now I do have tins, binders, and deck boxes.
You all are wrong. Put the foils in between the non-foil cards like energies. Then place them in a non-plastic deck box(laying flat down, not sideways) and store in a dry spot like a closet. You can also place a Damp Rid container in the closet for more efficiency. Wait two weeks to a month and your cards are back to normal.Truth is, the regular cards helps keep the foils from absorbing moisture. People just keep the foils separate from the rest of the deck most of the time. You can thank me anytime you want.
Where did you get a top loader binder I’d love to get one lol
Check out my other video on the Top Deck Toploader binder!
Wow, this super great, brand new experience, new fairy world, I support,#rnewelf
I just put mine on the hard-cover page inside my 5 lb dictionary. Hey, my teacher told me to use it!
Ive never been able to flatten a card with just weight. You have to fix the humidity.
thnx for the vid. Your voice was only coming out of my left headphone @_@
I Sandwiched my mega ampharos full art between two Xbox cases and put my bass amp on top
My dumbass just throws the cards in one of those burgerking decks and shoves them in a drawer
Thanks for sharing 🎉
hey man great video!
The only cards that have wrapped are the holo’s to the Deoxys EX release set. I have zero idea why but now I have to go flatten them out with a book lol.
Using silica gel is also a very effective preventive method.
Mine isn't just bent, I also put it in the washing machine by mistake 😅😅
Fix your sound, its horrible with headphones
I did 👍🏻
Unfortunately can’t fix this video without uploading entirely. Thanks for watching anyways!
Double sleeves works best, leave it in a day and it will fix it
Try heat pressing
thx my charazard ex is goo as new!
Does this works with fake cards
I don’t see why not
Thanks for the video, short and to the point and solid delivery!
good vid but you are in my left ear and its kind of annoying
My bad! This was one of my first videos and I was still learning how to export video files properly
Your cards are too dry that's why they're curling a humidity pack 60 to 65% in a sealed container with your cards will straighten them out.
Cheers bud
This man helped me save my jumbo pikacu v max thank you so much
Awesome. Thank you for watching
@@sleevenocardbehind no problem

@@apapz3245and why doesn't matter
@@apapz3245I have a ex Pokemon card and it's worth a dollar but I love the art on it
If you use a standard binder with pages make sure it is a D ring not and O ring and don't overfill (to many pages) because the top pages will bend them inside the binder.
Also, is that really true grading companies don't care about the curve?
Yea I've sent in many curved cards. Its not considered damage.
yeah, just do the same from the opposite side (and add some weight like more books on) & it will fully restored after a while.
Hey is there a specific way to put the card in a book because my mega Rayquaza has a small Bend and i want to fix it but im scared its going to get torn up and won't be worth anything anymore 😬
Sleeve it first and if you have a semi rigid or card saver, use that too. And make sure the book is in a safe place
Great video bro🎉
Thank you for watching!
i would also sandwich the card between felt so it wont get any scratches
the reason the blow dryer doesn't work is that your cards have less humidity than the humidity of the location of where it was made. So trying to use a blow dryer to heat it up actually makes it worse!
and it's not always the humidity! it could just be heat (cold) expanding (contracting) the more metalic foil part! it's actually just very simple thermal stuff
don't bully gengar lil brother
Music is killing the voice over
Sorry! My videos have gotten a lot better since then
Harbor freight sells these C clamps for like 2 bucks with large rubber pads, ive used the book method and clamped the book down with the C clamps to add weight
That helps for like a handful of cards but what about when i have stacks that are warped lol
Ok I I bought this desiccant thing from Walmart. It’s a big puck shaped thing and it sucks all the moisture out of the air. I put a bunch of cards in an air tight container and put this in it and it helped a bit
Your channel name is awesome
Would putting the card in a cigar dehumidifier work?
I don’t smoke cigars but don’t they have to be kept at a certain humidity? It’s worth a try
After so many yrs of collecting cards, I have card curve/bow issue. They were fine til semi recently. Whatever caused it seems to have only affected the holofoil or as I call them 40/60 & 60/40s and up (V, Vmax, Full arts, etc). And 98% of ones that got affected were not left out. I had them in elite trainer boxes, white card storing things get at card shop, etc. They were in a room thats room temperature is usually between 65 to 75 but usually 71 to 74. I didn't have them exposed to direct sunlight, there was no flooding, didn't spill water on them, etc. Sadly, I didn't know they curved/bowed til last weekish. Would laying them between books really work? Or getting a dehumidifier? The cards dont feel wet, moist, damp, etc they just are bowing to varying degree.
Some of mine that are in boxes in a drawer still manage to absorb moisture through the air and warp. Yes, carefully using the book method should fix the issue
A really awesome video bro :D ROCK ON!
Now why would you keep cards in the bathroom?
Only water type of course
Only my korean cards
I think this one is pretty good
Does it fix creases?
Nope! Sorry
You saved my reshiram v
For some reason my official Pokemon sleeves bent my cards
I've heard of this but it's never happened to me. Are you certain its the sleeves and not the humidity? Are all your cards bending in the sleeves or just the holo cards?
Yes it's the sleeves and not the humidity and I tested it with holos and non holos and GXs and they bend them in like a day or two
Bro is it normal? I use rubber bands to store my cards and they still bend can you tell me a better way to store the cards
Rubber bands!? Don’t you have a binder?
@@sleevenocardbehind no bro
@@travelstation8085 You need to get sleeves and a binder before you buy anymore cards!
@@sleevenocardbehind ok bro can you provide me a link for the cheapest binder
I’d recommend something like this amzn.to/45A7bp9
I did this with foil Magic cards. Unfortunately after several days of being inside a book with a lot of weight, it remained as pringly as ever once i took them out. :(
That’s so weird. The book trick has worked 100% for me
@@sleevenocardbehind perhaps its cuz I live in a basement apartment, even if they're in the book the humidity won't let them uncurl.
A friend of mine told me to put them in a sealed container with desiccant packets...
You should try that! And report back!
He's gonna supply me with one desiccant pack tonight 😅
I also thought maybe rice would work too. (Obviously putting it in a sleeve to not have it all scratched up)
How do I straighten cards down inside a sealed pack?
I think I would still recommend the book method for that.
@@sleevenocardbehind excellent, thanks for replying
Where did you get that top loader binder
I found it on Amazon. It's called the Top Deck. Check out my video review of it!

Without watching the video use a heavy book and put it on top of it for about 30 minutes and the warp will be gone

so slight curving doesn’t effect the psa grading
Or just carefully bend it the other way. Ben it around a rolling pin if you like. You can fix this in minutes not days.
just put it inbetween your phone and your phone case
