I bought this guitar and switched out the pickups to Bootstrap Extra Crispy and changed the saddles to brass. Great Tele! Nick is a super nice guy to boot!
I would love one of those. I have a 2008/09 RW ‘60s Strat and it is fab. One of the best Strats I’ve ever played and I’ve played a lot since my Strat obsession began. A close friend of mine got the ‘50s RW Strat and sold all of his other guitars. That was a great series.
I had a Classic Series 60's Stratocaster with a nitrocellulose finish, but without the fake wear. Really solid guitars, especially when I couldn't afford an American Vintage Stratocaster.
That's probably the best sounding telecaster around. The old tex mex pickups in that beast are hard to beat. Great mid range for gigging. Not trebly shrill stuff they have in everything now.
Yep. I had pure nickel strings on it too. It only took one or two strums for the buyer to fall in love with it. After I sold this one I quickly replenished with an American Vintage ‘52 tele
Nice! Sounds like a Tele! I recently impulsively bought a Michael Kelly 1953 that is very pretty, but doesn’t sound like a telecaster. Have some obsession lately, I own all Gibsons. Thanks for this video. Gives a nice feel for the Mim tele. Though this seems a bit more unique. Do you feel the cost difference is the finishing mostly? Are the electronics upgraded on the model too?
Hmm. I think this model is pretty much inline with the other MIM Telecasters as far as price goes, so I don't think they charged any extra for the relic job. When I got this one I was A/B testing to others in the same range and this one was simply the best.

These are great guitars!! I think the first couple years had a 9.5 neck, or bigger frets ... I can't remember.
I think mine was from the last year of production. It definitely had the 7.25” radius and vintage frets, but it was a nice guitar for sure.
