  • Let's check out the Fender Road Worn 50's Telecaster! My example is from 2019, but now you can get them in Fender's Vintera line of instruments from the Mexico factory in several different colors, as well as Stratocasters and Telecaster Deluxes!
Featuring a road worn nitrocellulose finish, Tex Mex pickups, 7.25" fretboard radius, a large U neck shape, and aged hardware, this guitar is a perfect option for a vintage style, aged guitar that captures the essence of golden age Fender. Let the factory get the first few dings out of the way, and the guitar will continue to age with you! A guitar finished in polyurethane simply won't do that.
Fender updates their Road Worn offerings every year, so be sure to check your favorite music retailer for exactly what Road Worn offerings you can get at the moment.

I'm actually in the opposite situation. Love the telly but the carves and the feel on the strat is quite magical. It inspires different things I guess.

Some teles have that belly cut on the back like a strat, but not a lot have the arm contour on the top which is huge for comfort! A couple of times I’ve had my wrist come out of the other side of a long gig all red from hitting the hard edge on my Tele. But, it’s a small price to pay for the twang 😎

Spot on RE: the Tex-Mex pickups. Great for old skool TWANG, but they’re also really hot, too; hot enough for a solid overdrive tone to play convincing late ‘60s/early ‘70s blues-based rock. I use this with a Roland JC120 and don’t bother w/any external effects.

@@SGBassplayer very nice! I used this guitar as my main in a Texas Country group and also with my alternative/Brit-rock band, which speaks to the versatility of the Tex-Mex!

Couldn't agree with you more, my collection of Road Worns is awesome! My go-to lately is the Brad Paisley silver sparkle but the purple and the yellow one come up in the rotation every week!
Great components, broken-in, good to go🤘🏼

Very nice! The purple looks great under stage lights too, I bet the silver sparkle does as well!

I just impulse bought one of these a couple days ago. Had been shopping for a new Vintera 2 in blonde that I ended up getting. And then this popped up into my Reverb feed the next day. Had never seen a purple Tele before (especially with nitro finish). I learned how rare it was being a special run and exclusive color. Had to buy it.
