When I saw the title of this video I was expecting to hear some real broken Spanish. But omg, he speaks excellent! His speaking is fluid, uses good grammar, doesn't have word searching pauses. In my book that's what fluency sounds like. Muy buen trabajo! Me gustaria tener un nivel de fluidez parecido algun dia.

Su accento no me suena NADA mal!!! Yo he oido a unas personas hablando casi sin tratar de hablar bien en absoluto y este me pone mal. Es como no les importa nada y me parece un poco egoista, como "no tengo que hablar como ustedes hablan o que hablo como quiero y tienen que adaptar o mi pronunciacion es mejor, voy a seguir asi." Hay otras cosas en espanol que si son dificiles de aprender. La pronunciacion no la es. No es como ingles, un monstruo para pronunciar. Bien hecho Sullivan! De verdad!

¡Hola Diego! This episode with Solivan was so inspiring! I was particularly interested in how Solivan balanced learning Spanish while living in different countries. Do you have any additional tips for maintaining language skills when you’re not surrounded by native speakers?

Sullivan, excellent! I was born with the gift of learning languages and imitating accents. I have a few comments:
1. Your grammar is amazing--you know when and where to use the subjunctive and the other tenses with relative ease.
2. Accents are highly. overrated. Some have an ear for them, some don't.
3. It is more important what you say. You could be a mean, uncouth person which speaks the foreign language with an undetectable accent, or a kind person with an accent. Which would you prefer to be?
4. Here in S. Florida, believe it or not, I am no longer flattered when a native Spanish speaker thinks I lie when I say I am not a native. It's like I need to carry around my birth certificate all the time.

Creo que la pronunciación es muy importante. Escuchar es la manera de mejorar tu acento. Toma tiempo, pero vale la pena

Los estadounidenses y los canadienses le pillan el acento mejor que los británicos. No sé por qué. Aquí a España vienen millones de británicos todos los años así que tienen oportunidad de practicar.

Yo le enseño español al que quiera aprender no le cobro y tiene que ser hablante nativo del ínglés
If he listened more he would have better pronunciation.
I am from the USA and am very gifted for learning foreign languages and I speak 5, including Spanish at native level and no foreign accent the natives tell me. I think this man does very well. Do you know enough Spanish to evaluate his pronunciation? My advice to other is to "open your ears", but this is easier said than done. How do you even know how much he listens? The main thing is that he is very easily understood, and really all things considered, the accent very acceptable. His grammar is excellent and he has an extensive vocabulary.
