Since the water is so low this year at grenada I was wondering if you had any tips on where to go wade me and my father have been going the past 3 years and will be back out there the week of the 17th when it's this low do you guys fish grenada sardis or enid any tips would be greatly appreciated thanks
That stringer would get old untying every time.. I got a fish basket with a pool noodle around the top. All I gotta do is tie the basket to me and put the fish in. It don't get in the way and it don't slow ya down..
As a south Mississippi native myself, I never did fish north Mississippi lakes before I moved away. I see I missed out on the trophy north waters for crappie like Sardis and Barnett. Always fished places like Natchez State Park, Anna's Bottom, Thornberg Lake, St. Catherine Creek, Coles Creek, and a bunch of other private fisheries. But I did have the Old River and Lake St. John Louisiana as backups!!
On the stinger, You should pierce em outside in stead of inside the mouth out and they will lay better on the stringer. Also gonna give you more room on the rope. But glad to see you know not to run it through the gills.
Back in the day me and my father a limit of 300 crappie good enough for the day before the masses took over the lake. Now limits when you use to have a family fish fry in just a few hours of fishing.
We appreciate it. We’ve gotten them from several different places. No specific brand. Amazon has several different ones to choose from. I’d get one with a rubber. We’ve had issues with hooks getting caught in the nylon on some brands.
@@3kproductions269 ok. Thank you for the reply. Me and a buddy of mine are going to Grenada in April for our annual trip. I have always told him I wished that I had a short net for when we are wading.
Nice catch! Heading up in the morning to either wade or spider rig. You think it's too early for wade fishing or are the shallows warm enough to get on some?
And these are the same people that complain about how there are no fish in the waters because certain people over fish waters. I remember doing this just to catch and release and folks from shore where lobbing rocks in the water that i was slaying slabs and they couldn't. They asked what i was doing to catch. I was the only person catching fish and crowds where fishing all around me. Had only a 9ft pole.
Removing crappie only helps the growth of bass and other species. They reproduced twice as fast as what largemouth and or other species of fish do. If they can manage to catch 5 limits all at that size in crappie then they 100% need thinned down and could use even more removed. Anyone who fishes knows crappie will starve out every fish around if over populated. Good fishing guys if anything you’ve helped the waters.
hey, I have a great idea. Let's buy waders, fight getting fish on a stringer, and dunk our reels in the water instead of just casting from the bank!!!!! Makes perfect sense.
@triniharp8745 sorry, I didn't mean to get your panties in a bunch🤣😂 it was a simple question I asked, and you or the other response did not answer it. Instead you went on the defense?? I know what lake management is, but that wasn't my question and has nothing to do with it🤔 😕
To answer your question as honest as I can. During the spawn in our area a lot of the crappie fisherman will keep what they catch as long as it’s over 12 inches and they don’t exceed 15 fish a day. This time of the year is when a majority of the fishermen fish, including us. Now with the rise in popularity of crappie fishing I have seen more and more people releasing the bigger fish and keeping 12-13 inch fish to eat. We’ve also started releasing the really big females hoping they lay their eggs.
To each his own, I guess...I just don't get the attraction to this style of fishing. I mean if you've got a fish fry planned soon and you're just trying to gather meat like you're at the grocery store, then I suppose this checks that box. But this looks about as much fun as fishing in those above ground pools of underfed fish they setup for kids at these outdoor expo shows...
I tend to agree this style of fishing doesn’t do much for me either. But I will say that what we can’t see is the hours and days of time put in of catching nothing and searching just to get to this point. So when I think of it that way I bet it is pretty rewarding. Not to mention fried crappie the best eating fish on the planet I’d love a cooler full.

That's the best crappie fishing I've ever watched...looks like good times
😂 this is hilarious. You can do all that from the bank😂
white ppl are out they fucking minds
The greatest crappie fishing video ever.
We appreciate that.
Sad. Didn't have video back in the day. Would done caught 20 for their one. 2 at a time.
Got to love when crappie move into the shallows this time of year!
Best time of the year
Never would have imagined all those nice crappie in that muddy water!
Yes sir. That’s a pretty typical water color for us in North Mississippi.

Great day of fishing, enjoyed your video, good technique for sneaking up on crappie. Keep up the amazing work
We appreciate you watching. Glad you enjoyed it.
My goodness that had to be fun. I had fun just watching. LOL
Glad you enjoyed it. Hard to beat a day like that.
You can do this from the bank with that long poles. Lol😂
Did that at sardis 15 years ago one of the most memorable fishing days ever!
It’s hard to beat for sure.
Amazing...who needs a boat Awesome video of slab slaying
Yes sir. Thank you.
Looks like fun, nice size too! Very nice place to burn out an electric filet knife! Love those suicidal early spring crappie!
Nooo doubt about that.

WOW!!! This is some amazing fishing!!! Where is this at? If you don't mind me asking, and can anybody fish there?

Just wondering if you guy's got Gators down there, here in SC to many 12' or 13' Gators
We have gators literally just miles from this lake, but we’ve never seen one on the lake anywhere.
Awesome boys!!!
Yes sir. Thank you
Great job ! Have they started in the big 4 in Ms yet ? thanks
We’re driving to MS tomorrow. Gonna try wade fishing for the first time at Sardis.
Little to early
@@justannewsom7970Im sure. We’re ready for anything. This is just the only time we have vacation.
A few fish are being caught, but it’s still early.
Awesome stuff right there. Get you a Thump net. Make it that much more enjoyable.
A couple of those looked a little short. 😂 😊
Come on now.
I just ran by your channel. New Subscriber!👍

They don’t know about those spots. You left out black river, cocodrie lake, bayou.
Great Video!
Thank you
I’m curious to the action of these poles, and how well they would perform with walleye vertical jigging or pitching jigs. Any opinion?
I’ll be honest. I don’t know the first thing about a walleye. I imagine they would work well though.
Great spot at the right time. Almost takes the fun out of it. I dont feel satisfied if I dont struggle a bit first. Lol
Plenty of struggles the camera doesn’t show. I promise
I need to head to West Point to check out these poles.
Metal clip stringers. I sharpen the ends of the wire. You can just cut em at an angle with wire cutters and then they pierce the fish mouth easy. 👍
On the stinger, You should pierce em outside in stead of inside the mouth out and they will lay better on the stringer. Also gonna give you more room on the rope. But glad to see you know not to run it through the gills.
Is this Granada lake

Bryant my boi! My boi!
Was supposed to be their this weekend but bad weather changed all that......what brand of waders do you recommend
We don’t have a specific brand we wear or prefer when we crappie fish. Hodgman makes a decent pair of neoprene waders though.
That’s awesome!
👍🏻
🎣Great Video what jigs were you using 🎣
Thank you. Muddy water jigs.
WOW! Very nice!👍👍👍👍
Thank you
If y’all don’t mind me asking what kinda cameras do yall use? Videos always look excellent
Thanks bud. A lot of our videos are videoed with a Canon G50. Our most recent duck hunts were videoed with a Canon EOS R6 Mark II.
I've noticed long time ago that if u keep them on string the fish will stay close
Do y’all let fans come fishing with you? Because I live in sardis and would love to meet you guys 🤘🏻
that is arkabutla correct?
Do yall ever do any crappie fishing out of the boat or all wading? Great video would like to find something like that around Va
95% of our crappie fishing is done wading. Every now and then we will livescope or kayak fish.
Ain't that some shit. You'd think it would scare em off? I recon you git off in a Creek with no low tree limbs to get in the way.
Where do y’all get those nets from. Good video by the way. 👍
We appreciate it. We’ve gotten them from several different places. No specific brand. Amazon has several different ones to choose from. I’d get one with a rubber. We’ve had issues with hooks getting caught in the nylon on some brands.

Do y’all prefer the gold and orange for that muddy water,
We do. We use it 95% of the time.
I live in Florida and enjoy fishing but I don't think I would get in the water. ..😮
I don’t blame you. I don’t believe I would either. 😂
Do you do Guiding trips and what jigs are you using
Unfortunately we don’t guide. Muddy water jigs are our preference.
Dang those are some slabs
We are fortunate when it comes to crappie fishing in Mississippi.
What size jig head do you use?
1/8 ounce
You can do that if its a pond bred of crappie
Our lakes in North Mississippi are known for crappie.
Gonna see livescope back packs next
Wow
👍🏻👍🏻
Smacked em
👍🏻👍🏻
What reel are you using when you’re wading
BnM Buck’s Ultra Lite Reels.

Generally speaking : Only they can do this, it’s only become ls a problem when others join it… see the power structure dynamic isn’t just with money …
This is a good pole. I like this pole. Stiff pole. Just a good pole.
Is this a core lake?
Sardis and Grenada are both Corps lakes
Looks like OVER fishing to me !
Great video but didn't appreciate the advertising. 😂😂
Spent more time talking about his pole than fishing😂
take a brotha out im in missippi too ashland
They spawning yet?
From what we’ve seen some are just beginning to move a little shallower. Still early.

Do crappie fishermen ever practice catch and release?? Thats alot of fish to keep!!
15 a person isn’t a crazy amount.
It's called lake management, crappies will over populate a lake, for everyone they catch it 3 more there
@triniharp8745 sorry, I didn't mean to get your panties in a bunch🤣😂 it was a simple question I asked, and you or the other response did not answer it. Instead you went on the defense?? I know what lake management is, but that wasn't my question and has nothing to do with it🤔 😕

This may be a dumb question, but why don't they just fish from the bank??
They wouldn’t reach very many from the bank. Like this they can fish a radius around them without moving.
