Gunther sure made a point! But he was all class about it! Respect! Great video as always! Very entertaining! Always thought your videos are kind like Indie films with a touch of kung fu haha which I like!
Thanks you. As for tagged items, of the four stores in this video, I think only Ross does this and only on valued items. Concerning manual searches, I've seen it done before, but the suspect was guilty of shoplifting. One incident, it was a local, owned store. The owner held up the item (can of ham) for everyone to see, shouted "This woman was caught stealing this" He then took a photo of her, and banned her from his store. He didn't press charge.
No Kmart in Virginia. They went out of business, but we have Walmart. Sears is also out of business in some places in Virginia. They own Kmart, but I think they have online ordering.
Let's be clear... by law he has the right to decline a search. He isn't obligated to comply to the security guard... in return they can ban you from entering their business after they call the police. In return you can file a lawsuit for the embarrassment and profiling.
Well said. I would've handled it like you said, If they refuse to be searched, I'd ban them from the store. He was detained, and prevented from leaving, until he proved his innocence. If you search me and find something, do what you will, call the police. But if you find nothing, yes indeed you will hear it from me, "They accused me of stealing, and found nothing." Being subjected to this form of embarrassment works both ways. Thanks for your input 🙏🏽
Stores take a legal risk when confronting patrons about checking receipts on exit. I am a member at Costco and part of that membership agreement is that they can check/ verify my receipt on exit. Other local stores have tried to do that on customers leaving the store, but you can just walk on by as you do not have an obligation unless they want to pursue it. There was an electronics store (Fry’s) that would have long lines exiting the store for these checks. I would just walk on thru as I knew it wasn’t a mandatory check. This was twenty years ago. With increasing theft in recent years some local stores have been trying to do the same… I still just walk past the line. It’s unfortunate that we all pay more for stores to make up for the losses due to theft but until it is a law to be searched on exit I’m not gonna consent to voluntary examination. Not sure the store that searched Gunther had the right to humiliate him but I think they didn’t think he had the resources to fight it. Thanks for your videos on Guam.! I was a military child there in the early 70s. New Piti Elementary school 😊 Cherish my times there

There's only three K-Mart stores in existence as of November 2024. All three are located in the U.S. Virgin Islands. Their New York store finally closed in October 2024.
Sounds fun, I almost want to join you 😂. He was only carrying a fanny pack, but If you're prettier than Gunter, they’ll just let you slip through. Need to look broke like Gunter, then the sirens 🚨 start blaring.
That's an illegal search! What he can do is file a complaint with the commission against discrimination.. that's a lawsuit! Even when your leaving the store and they ask to see you're receipt that's a violation of your civil rights! If he's still bitter go file that complaint and if the commission finds his rights was violated then he can sue home Depot for a few million dollars! He has 12 months to file, normally it's done on line . It's federal.
Yes, I agree. But Gunter doesn’t have the heart to pursue the matter, and without him there’s no case. Thanks for your advice, much appreciated 🙏🏽 By the way, it was Donki that searched him, not Home Depot.
Exactly. Through comments like yours I learn more about the situation. Or you can shop somewhere else, I'm sure other stores would gladly appreciate your money.
Why f ucking expensive? I live in Germany our Liquid washing soap, so big double the sizes of what you shows cost only €12 around $13.....and the Toilet paper 12x, only €5.....and the Milk only €0.99 , chips ahoy only €1.99....Lays only €2:00.... Europea is much, much cheaper, yay!

😞 sad to see both stores go. Never did I imagine they go out of business. Kmart is profitable here on island mainly because of the tourist.
Hi Benny! Love your channel ❤️ Cute accent.
Thanks Linda. It’s my Chamorro accent, but here on island, it’s not Chamorro enough. The locals here says it sounds too American 😂
The Ross prices looked similar to the Ross prices here in the states.
