If you are searching for happiness in your life (who isn't!) you really must try self-enquiry. If you haven't yet your mind will be thinking about it but will be incapable of having a clue about how your life experience will change if you put it into practice. A lifetime of joy awaits!

The outward looking mind cannot find the truth.
Here we feed the ego by grasping from outside.
If it turn inwards we become Awareness.
Chitta vriiti nirodha happen in sleep.
Destruction of mind happens only in self Self enquiry.
Death of ego is in self enquiry is 🙏🙇‍♀️🙇‍♂️🙏awareness.

    Practice
    When I practice His teachings "நான் யாா் ?"
    "Iam Who ?"
    Am 'I' are two ?
    Only when I practice
    I understand
    Why should I practice
    And how to do
    How difficult it is
Due to the wanderings of mind
    How easier it is
Because the Iam is always within my reach to attend
    How important it is
For it points out what Iam & what Iam not
Such is the Grace of Bhagavan
That is stuffed in His teachings by Him
    Again
    Thank you

According to Ramana Maharshi the non-vichara (out-ward going) practices are very worth while because they render mind one-pointed. Consequently, vichara becomes extremely easy. [paragraph 9, Who Am I?, James]
If mind has limited or no ability to be one-pointed, attempts at vichara will be futile states Maharshi [verse 763, Guru Vachaka Kovai, James].

If one treats all living beings equally without discrimination…that is all one needs. Ignorance needs to be bypassed not ego.
First thing one should know: …5 entities you are associated with…those need to be bypassed first.

Michael: ‘The outward looking mind can never get rid of the outward looking mind.’ ‘The mind is the mind so long as it’s looking outward.’
‘The outward looking mind can never destroy itself.’ ‘[As Bhagavan says] the only way to bring about the destruction of mind is to turn the mind back within.’
    All thanks to Bhagavan.

This makes Michael sound like a religious fanatic. My way is the only way. My path is the fastest path. Etc etc. There are saints in every tradition and saints w no sadhana like RAMANA.
This means the mind will destroy itself when grace and effort have come together at the destined time.regardless of what a person practices.
Only by doing this or that, is the mantra of a devoted fanatic

Micheal James is passionate about Sri Ramana Maharshi. He’s eager to share his understanding of self investigation and the knowledge he has gained from his guru.
      Passion or fanaticism
The message remains constant, enquire into the identity of self cx

There is only one YOU, therefore there is only one path back to YOU. This path is therefore absolute, which is what Michael is pointing you to. The path is not his way, it is your way.

The true devotees of Bhagavan are all fanatics
If one knows the implication behind the word "[Blind] Faith" in Him and His words
      Then nothing else matters
Bhagavan Himself is the biggest fanatic of all
One can understand it when one goes through His poems that He has composed on Arunachala for the benefit of His devotees
      Thank you

Sri Ramana exhibited preferences. At meal times he insisted that the animals be fed first, devotees and visitors next, and himself last. That to me, indicates ego. If there was absolutely no ego, how or why would those preferences be implemented. Perhaps ego is not right word to use. I feel that the teaching to annihilate the ego is not going to help anybody. Giving up or annihilating the idea that you are the doer, and recognizing that you have never done anything, and that Life just happens will.

@bernhard1071Ramana was once challenged by a visitor, and roared in anger at being questioned. He was not devoid of emotion and opinion or ego. Your need to put him on a pedestal and see him as A God, separate entity from the world is what is immature.

      Hi
The body of Sri Ramana Maharshi exhibited preferences. The books inform us.
The body functions as a body is destined to. A body is needed in order to do self enquiry.
The consciousness was taught to believe that i am a body. So we grow up believing that i am is this body / mind.
At the correct moment our understanding or interest in what it means to exist is lit.
Ego only exists when we imagine and will it into existence. Rejecting the concept we've been wrongly taught were facts, we strive to investigate who or what actually is out there./ in here!
We falsely believe we are bound,. We desire to be free and seek liberation. We need to be free from this notion of identifying as a person in a body.
Rejection what i am not is the only way to find what i am. cx

Hi@@awakenotwoke7949'd be interested in hearing more of your views and wondered if you could share what your understanding of what the ego actually does, is.
I'm of the opinion that everything our senses, sense and everything the world has to offer is the ego. To me ego is the midunderstanding that the heavens and earth is all there ever is and has been. Ego says we are born, we live and we die. This more or less sums up what I actually think the ego is and does cx

Turning our attention away from everything else and back towards ourself..
      …holding onto our true nature…
Who is it that knows there’s an ego? Who knows everything else is here and that the I am is separated from reality.
Where do we find this true nature. Is it in the heart. In the body. Is it in the ego, is it in the mind?
Our true nature can it been seen. Can it be located and identified with the mind?
Ego grasping at forms creating an imagined reality. Can it destroy what’s not really there
I’m thinking that ego couldn’t possibly destroy itself, mostly because ego doesn’t even know it exists. cx

@bernhard1071 I mean no respect to Sri Ramana, I am quite devoted to him as a vehicle to the Self in his beloved form. Your perceptions and beliefs are also unique to your genes and conditioning, and are true for you only. I make these statements because if you are waiting for the disillusion of the ego based on your concepts what that looks like, you are again postponing awakening until you are worthy or fixed. You cannot become happy, you only be happy. It is ego that claims I am not yet enlightened. Namaste
