I'm glad the manual registration section helped! And yes, I don't recommend pulling out the drawer on the standard size Cameo 4 unless you are working with rolled media. The smooth space in front of and behind your cutting machine is important. :)
How do you get a design with multiple items from your computer to silhouette cameo to cut the same size as original design? It resizes everything very small

Any help would be huge as I've been through way to much resources to try and fix it. I have aligned the machine and tried everything I know and have found but still no luck
If some of your stickers are cutting with a larger white border, it could be a lighting issue or levelness issue. Make sure your paper is not glossy, the lighting in the room is even (you can try closing the lid when reading registration marks to see if that helps), and try propping up your mat in the front with something like an empty vinyl tube that will hold up the mat without impeding its movement.

My Cameo 5 on macOS with latest studio and firmware is set to "Letter" paper on page, but it can't find the registration marks as it goes down too far and looks for them where they would be for A4. I am using the brushed metal sticker preset, which is your own letter sized paper. So it seems this combination is junk as it just does not work.
If your printer will print 11x17" images and you want to use as much of that space as possible, you will need to use the 12" x 24" cutting mat. www.silhouetteamerica.com/shop/blades-and-mats/CUT-MAT-24 And then yes, it will print & cut that document. Make sure to double check your cutting mat size and media size are correct, then also verify with your print settings that the print document size matches exactly.
Hello, I have curio and followed all your advices, i choose the correct machine, paper size and registration marks. But I always get registration mark failed message even for manual. And it doesn't scan the whole page of the paper, so it can not read the registration line bottom page of the paper (L line) While scanning it stops at the end of the mat size 8.5 x6 and goes back from the top. Is it because the size of my mat is smaller than the paper? What should I do? Please help.
It's tricky with the smaller Curio mat, and there may be a bug that's interfering with proper page size and orientation. I've brought it to the attention of the software developers. Your lower registration mark *must* be within the cutting mat border or it will not read it. You may have to force the mark to where it needs to be by setting a custom page size (to print on Letter paper, try 8.5" W x 7.0 " H) and then use Advanced registration mark settings to set your lower inset to 1.00" or larger. If you have the larger Curio base and can use a full sheet of paper, you may have better success. Please reach out to www.silhouetteamerica.com/contact if you need to troubleshoot further.

Hi, I have Silhouette Cameo 3 and will use Avery 3279. Because it's not available on material options, what is the material should I use when cutting? TIA
I'm not familiar with that material. If it's like cardstock, choose a cardstock material setting and test cut to see if it will work. If it's a sticker paper, try the white sticker paper material setting and test cut. Any new material just needs some trial and error, but there is often a comparable default material to get you close before adjusting blade depth and force in small increments.
The Silhouette SD also does print & cut. Follow the same tips as in this video, making sure to set your mat and media size correctly before turning on the registration marks. Your registration marks may look a little different, but the software should recognize you have an older machine connected.
My first attempt at p&c and I did it! My Cameo 3 read the registration marks so well, I was worried because I hear about people having problems with registration. Thank you!
You can use a "Print to PDF" option if that is among your printer choices when printing. Also save that document in Silhouette Studio to cut later, once you have the printout loaded. A PDF showing the registration marks can be used at print shops or from someone else's printer. However, it's very important that it prints exactly at 100% (no borderless printing or fit to page, etc.) so the registration marks and cut lines match the Silhouette Studio document exactly.
Hi, I'm trying to do the print and cut and when I click on send it will not let it "send". It is not grayed out but is doing nothing when I click send. My actual design does not have the red line around it like yours does but it does where the square is with the registration marks. I hope this makes sense. Please help? Thanks so much.

That's correct. This is a regular Canon inkjet printer, and I've also used Epson and HP. Nearly all of Silhouette's printable media is made to use with a regular inkjet printer.
You do need to use the Silhouette brand cutting mat for print & cut to work correctly. The standard grip mat is clear. www.silhouetteamerica.com/shop/blades-and-mats/CUT-MAT-12-3T If you use a Silhouette brand light tack mat or a strong tack mat, they are not clear but will also work. Other brands are not exactly the same size and may not work.
I'm using a black matte and for whatever reason it will not register, I managed to get one thing cut out, but now it seems it doesn't want to register. What's the easiest way to fix that?
I spent a few hours figuring this one out. My issue was not aligning the matte correctly. On the Portrait 3, the actual paper is suppose to center align with the two white wheels. This means that the matte was NOT suppose to align with the very left marking.

I have an old Silhouette SD. Will this work on it & if so any tips? Thanks.
Thank you!
The firmware link at the beginning of the video does not work.
excellent, clear concise instructions.
is it possible not to print the reg mark? or atleast make it smaller cause it takes too much space.
Can you print outside the program then cut? Like if I had to print elsewhere.
Informative video
Hi, I'm trying to do the print and cut and when I click on send it will not let it "send". It is not grayed out but is doing nothing when I click send. My actual design does not have the red line around it like yours does but it does where the square is with the registration marks. I hope this makes sense. Please help? Thanks so much.
It sounds like you have brought in an image but have not assigned cut lines. You probably need to Trace that image to assign cut lines. Here's a video. th-cam.com/video/o907NQ2RnCc/w-d-xo.html
Why does my ink dont hold on these kind of paper from you? Mine is smearing as soon you touch it or the cameo with her white feeding rolls. I use the original printable vinyl.
Be sure you are using an inkjet printer and giving it a little time for the ink to dry onto the paper before sending it through the machine.
This is just using a regular printer with regular ink? Not like sub ink
That's correct. This is a regular Canon inkjet printer, and I've also used Epson and HP. Nearly all of Silhouette's printable media is made to use with a regular inkjet printer.
i cant figure it out my cameo 4 wont cut registration marks i please help me
So I have to use a clear cutting mat ?
You do need to use the Silhouette brand cutting mat for print & cut to work correctly. The standard grip mat is clear. www.silhouetteamerica.com/shop/blades-and-mats/CUT-MAT-12-3T If you use a Silhouette brand light tack mat or a strong tack mat, they are not clear but will also work. Other brands are not exactly the same size and may not work.
Thanks for explaining! 😊👍🏻
thank you very helpful
I'm so glad it's helpful!
I'm using a black matte and for whatever reason it will not register, I managed to get one thing cut out, but now it seems it doesn't want to register. What's the easiest way to fix that?
I'm not sure I understand what you mean by using a black matte? What color paper/media are you printing on?
Son if we followed the entire thing and it still fails to register on white paper is the machine toast?
i hope this gets an answer- it's happening to me, too.
I spent a few hours figuring this one out. My issue was not aligning the matte correctly. On the Portrait 3, the actual paper is suppose to center align with the two white wheels. This means that the matte was NOT suppose to align with the very left marking.
@@vd853 Thank you! I have a portrait 3 and I have never been able to figure out the 3 loading lines, especially if I'm using the mat. I'll try your tip. I have only used the registration marks one other time. It worked, but the cut was off. Today it won't even register.
@@vd853 The far left marking is for the Cameo 4. You're correct that on Portrait machines, the mat should be loaded so the roller wheels grip the mat evenly. We've got a specific video for Print & Cut with the Portrait 3 here: th-cam.com/video/S2YA_uqg1i0/w-d-xo.html
@@MissWinkle555 We've got a dedicated Print & Cut class for the Portrait 3 here: th-cam.com/video/S2YA_uqg1i0/w-d-xo.html
I have a question i just recently upgraded from basic edition to designer edition software but my tool bar/icons didn't change-after seeing several different tutorials on youtube it seems like I should have more icons/toolbar shortcuts but I don't so can you help or explain why? forgot to mention I have a silhouette cameo 3
Are you still having trouble with this? Go to Help > About Silhouette Studio and it will tell you if you are running Basic Edition or Designer Edition. The upgrade works on the software no matter what model of Silhouette cutter you are using.
When you use cutting mat do you use he sticky side ?
Yes, always press your paper onto the sticky side of the cutting mat.
I did all the steps and still my cameo 4 fails to register. I have trying for 2 days and repeating the video and start from the begining each time. Can someone help me with this?
why didn't you include TRACING??
Tracing is outside of the scope of this basic class. We have another more in-depth Print & Cut class here. th-cam.com/video/SJwvzf5q16Y/w-d-xo.html
And here's a separate video on Tracing. th-cam.com/video/o907NQ2RnCc/w-d-xo.html
Cut or cut edge?
I didn’t know you needed a separate printer when I bought it.
Is this also available for the cameo 2?
she said for all cutters
Yes! Print & Cut has been a feature of every Silhouette cutting machine, including the Cameo 2.
Can we use a laser toner printer?
As long as your registration marks are printed clearly and it is printed at 100% size, you should be able to use a laser printer or an inkjet printer.
3 days ago, I bought a cameo 4, however I'm having problems with kiss cutting regular sticker paper, both glossy and matte. even at blade 1 force 1, it still cuts all the way through. it cuts too deep that it almost cut through the mat. the blade is adjusting alright. I know it's not the paper that I'm using because I've made a kiss cut before when I first tried the machine, but after that, I can't make a kiss cut again. Can someone suggest something? thanks!
Please reach out to Silhouette Support and they can troubleshoot with you. www.silhouetteamerica.com/contact
where do the registration marks come from?
You turn on the registration marks in your software (see the video at 5:09) so they will print when printing the design on your home printer.
None of my images show up when I go to print off my printer. What am I doing wrong?
What type of images are you trying to print? It could be something as simple as you need to fill shapes and text with color before they print. If it's more than that, please reach out to Silhouette Support and they can help you. www.silhouetteamerica.com/contact
Hola. He tenido inconveniente con el print and cut. Con las marcas de registro de mi campo 4
Make sure you follow all the steps in this video. Please reach out to Silhouette Support if you continue to experience trouble. www.silhouetteamerica.com/contact
I constantly have issues with print and cut! After calibration is ok my machine is not reacting on Distanc Adjustment. Just not cutting marks to check the distance. I have a Business Edition. I'm just pissed off. The other thing is Silhouette is claiming allowable error in Print&Cut is 1.16th of inch! THIS IS HUGE ERROR! This is just ridiculous. 1.6mm is just unacceptable...
Will this work with any jpg or PNG file?
It should work with most JPGs or PNGs, as long as you can Trace them. If the border of the design is very pale or white, that can be problematic with getting a good Trace. See this video on Tracing th-cam.com/video/o907NQ2RnCc/w-d-xo.html
Not going to lie but when you are listening and not watching this video it really sounds like you're on a plane during the emergency announcements before take off... can we travel yet?
I wish! :)
I made a sunflower did not come out right.
changed it to 1.5 playback speed so that she will talk at a real speed
Nothing to see here that would really be helpful at all when encountering issues with the registration...
Please see the troubleshooting section that starts at about 10:13
Oh man this crap look to complicating I was thinking about getting the pro but maybe I won’t 😂
In Spanish please.
