- At GearFest 2015, we were lucky enough to get a camera on DJ Ashba (guitarist for Guns N' Roses & Sixx A.M.) during his seminar at Sweetwater's event. Well spoken, good listener and answers every question and very respectful! He’s incredibly talented and I’ve become of a fan of him and his talent! Like his sense of humor! Now I got to go see him with Sixx AM! I love ❤️ The Heroine Dairies soundtrack! I just ordered the book and excited to read it than go back and listen to the soundtrack! I appreciate that Nikki Sixx shared what he was going thru and was just very raw and open about his struggles and has used his platform to help others!
Probably The Most underrated guitarist EVER and what an amazing guy. His talent is phenomenal. His solo riffs make my soul cry with happiness, especially on Accidents can happen xxx

Dj is about as amazing as they come. He has such an old school feel when he plays.... I love how he really pours himself into everything he does. He's so down to earth! I love it and Love him!!! Absolute perfection!

He can slay, that's for sure! You can really hear the influence Randy and Jake E Lee had/has on his playing. At least that's what I can clearly hear.
I bought my ride cymbal off of Vince probably close to 30 years ago and still have it. It’s a Zildian. He lived in Hegwish Illinois which is part of Chicago. I actually have a Decoy Paris album on Vinyl another band he was in. Crazy shit.

Anybody can't just work their ass off and make it... that's the myth. You have to do the work, to be sure, in order to be in a position to take advantage of opportunities, but those opportunities are not generated by your work. For every 1 guy that made it, I'll show you 100 equally talented and driven individuals that nearly died trying.
Difference between a whammy bar and a kill switch? I am just learning and want to be able to get my granddaughter to learn but I have to properly be able to tell her she is only two. But I think she's going to be a rocker... Has her own baby Einstein guitar. I want to begin getting her lessons as soon as she is able. She's also got a drum kit. Want to get her started in music.
Ps. Beginning solo sound very much like Chinese democracy with the xylophone type noise not quite sure what that
Hi Stefany, Thank you for Watching & for your Question. The difference between a whammy bar (technically called a "tremolo bar") & a kill switch is this: 1) Whammy Bar is a bar affixed to the bridge of some guitars that allows you to push down on it & pull up on it to create a "wobble" sound effect (hard to describe in words) in the guitar's sound. These are found on electric guitars, only (very rare on an acoustic). The kill switch is a toggle switch that activates & deactivates the pickups of a guitar which acts like a "mute" of the guitar's output. +HawkRockS1996 I'll do my best. Fairbury is a small Midwest farm town of about 3500 or so. Dave's is the supermarket that for a town of Fairbury 's size,it has a little bit of everything. A restaurant in the back, a good deli and bakery, Workers still carry people's bags to the cars.and pride themselves on customer service. It's cliche, but that's how it is there. I met DJ as a PE teacher in town there.. We walked our class to the park and there he was with his girlfriend. All of the sudden I'm talking about guitar rigs with the guitarist of Guns N' Roses. But that didn't occur to me until later. Just had a nice talk with a great guy. It's true what these comments are saying. He doesn't have an ego, he's happy to talk to people and has no secrets to keep.

That's odd, he says he grew up in a very religious family without a T.V. or anything, but yet he says his dad took him to his first concert to see Motley Crue. Was their religion Satanism or something? LOL
His sense of intonation sucks so bad you know immediately why he was chosen. Image is beginning to lose its grip, though. Proper old school lead guitar is on the rise!
LuckyLicks He's NOT the greatest but better than most and image counts for alot (esp. in the modern rock era) - he's a good guitarist that girls sweat and so, he was chosen to carry-on the G N' R flag...as a die-hard O.G. G N' R fan, I almost HATED each & every member they brought to the table but after all that's said n' done - Chinese Democracy (2008) was close to a classic and their tours were DEF formidable (except for Axl's vocals)...I have no qulams w/ the band and their players; it is the delay in releases that makes me hate 'em...but regardless, I will always n' respect GUNS N' F'CKIN' ROSES!

GnR or not, that wasn't the point. They guy plays like a 14-year old garage band guitarist. His intonation is almost as bad as that of K.Hammett, the most overrated guitarist in the world. There is no point in bands that are in it for the show and not the music. The old GnR is still looked up to in the guitar world, that's the difference.
