I think the reason florals come back in fashion every spring is that people are so tired of winter every single year. 😂We deserve some florals after surviving winter!!
Just stumbled on your site and was so glad. I am 73 and my mom taught me to sew a pair of shorts one day when I was 10. Waist band, zipper, plaques, button, pockets! I sewed all my clothes( and friends during college!)till my girls were little and then burned out. I’ve made quilts for years and watching your video I really want to make this dress! I know the muscle memory is still there………watching you go through the steps made me realize I have done this 100 times or more! So grateful I watched this. I’ll have to look for some Rifle fabric and head to JoAnn’s to look for some trim.
I was planning on using this pattern next and have been loving the different versions I’m seeing online! Really love your version and the added details, especially the narrow lace. Thank you for sharing this!!
Lauren, this dress is truly stunning. I'm always so inspired by how your pieces look like they could be pulled off a rack at a fancy boutique. You have such an eye for detail (this trim!! I mean!), and these small touches really elevate everything you make. Thank you for sharing your sewing process with us. I learn so much!
The timing of this video is perfect- this pattern is on my spring “to-sew” list and I have everything sitting out and ready to start, but I’ve just been feeling intimidated and unmotivated. Seeing your beautiful dress was just the encouragement I needed! Your attention to detail is so inspiring and makes for such gorgeous and special pieces.
This is such a beautiful dress and fabric is just gorgeous! I have been binge watching your videos all the way back to 5 years ago already! Just love them! Thank you🌷❤️🇨🇦
Love the lace trim! Makes the dress even more special. I’m wondering if you pinned with the decorative pin heads toward your right hand, if it would make removing them easier, quicker & more efficient since it looks as if you are right handed? Just a thought. Thanks for sharing your lovely spring project.
This video is just so soothing! Been looking for videos to watch while chillin’ and I’m so happy yours popped up. I’ve been following you for years now and I can’t believe I missed this recent video of yours. I love how you included the clip of the coffee before starting the project that just made me more motivated to plan my sewing projects this year. 🤍🤍🤍🤍🤍
Also, I admire the time you took to make the self-fabric button loops. Congrats on going the extra mile on details-they take more time but they really did make your dress top notch!
This turned out sooooo pretty!!!! Definitely for more of an experienced sewer. The fit is also wonderful on you. Great job. The video was so relaxing and gets you in the mood to sew. Thank you for this.
I’ve had that pattern sitting in my hoard for a few years now and I never get around to making it. I just know i’m going to have to adjust the upper bodice section. That’s nowhere near long or full enough to tuck my ((.)) ((.)) inside 😩 Yours turned out so pretty in that floral! The button loops and the narrow lace are a really nice touch too. Those features really elevated the entire dress. Lovely job!
Lauren I have made this pattern 2 times already and I'm currently wearing one of my dresses I made with it !!! It's an amazing coincidence that you posted this video today ! I hope you love your dress so much it's beautiful !! ❤️❤️❤️
I absolutely love your dress...I got inspired to make some dresses for this spring. I agree with you about the little extra details, they really elevate handmade garments ! I hope you enjoy your dress, it looks great on you 🥰
Very pretty! Thanks for mentioning your cuff adjustment. I recently made a shirt dress and the cuffs were so big. The trim detail and buttons with loops were great additions!
Thanks for the trim inspiration. I love how you inserted it into the seams. I have only ever done that with piping before but the lace is much more to my taste and style. Thanks for sharing such a lovely video.
This is my favorite video of yours ever! Thanks so much for sharing the process. I have this pattern as well, but have been a bit nervous about trying it. I usually use indie patterns. LOVE the lace trim - it adds such a special touch and I might need to try this as well!
I don’t have any sewing friends to ask this question to so hopefully someone can help. I have a sleeveless shirred midi dress (several actually) that I bought. The arm holes, while sufficiently big enough to wear the dress, feel so short with my sensory issues. Do you have any tips on making an arm hole larger on a dress with shirring? I need probably another 1” down on the opening. It feels like the dress is IN my armpit 😂
Hi Lauren, this is so beautiful you've inspired me to incorporate trim! I love this dress pattern, it's very similar to a dress I have but the empire waist on mine is shirred instead of a corset style. I love having a little stretch in the waist - do you think it would be possible with this pattern to add a panel of shirring perhaps to the back bodice piece? Either centrally or at the sides?
the neckline fits well, lady-like. Classy...so many girls show way too much looking slightly trashy, leave something to the imagination. Nice dress, great video
What a beautiful dress! I have had my eye on this sewing pattern for a while, but haven't made anything with it yet - but after seeing your video I think I should give it a try! :)
I'd say a mix of personal preference and laziness! 😂 Sometimes I'll transfer them, but I'm not very consistent when it comes to the markings. Thanks so much for watching!
Would you consider maybe making a little modesty panel to put into the V- neckline? I think you could make it V-shaped and it would fit into the dress very well. If you top stitched one side and used a hook and eye on the other? Wonderful work as always Lauren.
hello very nice young lady please kindly film a full video tutorial how to thread and operate the Kenmore sewing machine please OK?thank you very much 😊

Haha, I agree!! It goes with the season!
For sure! Also because the winter fashion is commonly so sad and boring in colours.
Dein youtube- Kanal ist so inspirierend. Du bist zauberhaft, es macht sehr viel Freude in diese romantische Nähwelt einzutauchen ❤

Beautiful dress! I can’t believe you can sew with that cup of coffee right next to your machine! I would have knocked it over for sure.

So glad you weren’t affected by the tornado. We are still without power, a week later.
I hope your power comes back soon Susan-- my aunt and uncle just got theirs back today!
I’m not a floral person but the dress turned out fabulously!! So cute!!Great job!!!👏🏾👏🏾

Absolutely love your channel and your style! I have the day off and it's raining, so I'm binge watching your sewing videos!
I love this dress-the pattern, the fabric choice and trim choices are lovely. I suggest an under top with a color so it looks intentional.
Gorgeous beautiful 😊
Great music wow!! Luv your sewing as well!!

Absolutely beautiful!!..the trim and buttons was a great touch it add the details that the dress needed and I love the florals fabric.
So lovely! The trim just brings it to the next level. Great choice.
Just found your channel! The dress is absolutely beautiful!

It looks lovely! The fabric works really well with the pattern and the trim really sets it off. I never thing to add trims but I love the effect! ❤
Thank you so much! I haven't really incorporated trims much in the past so I want to experiment with it this year!
Just found you. Enjoyed this video and look forward to future videos. Thanks for sharing.
Aw, thank you so much-- so happy to have you here!!
Very pretty! Thanks for mentioning your cuff adjustment. I recently made a shirt dress and the cuffs were so big.
The trim detail and buttons with loops were great additions!
I have just bought this pattern! Can’t wait to start it now I have seen this! Well done for making a beautiful dress
Your dress is beautifully done, as usual. I'm impressed that you managed to sew the lace trim so evenly. Best wishes.
So pretty, well done! The trims make all the difference!
I just love everything about this dress! From the fabric, to the pattern and the details. Just perfect! 👌
Beautiful 😍
Thank you! 😊
Beautiful job. ❤

Lovely 😍 dress 👗 UK 💕
This is my favorite video of yours ever! Thanks so much for sharing the process. I have this pattern as well, but have been a bit nervous about trying it. I usually use indie patterns. LOVE the lace trim - it adds such a special touch and I might need to try this as well!

Gorgeous dress and nice done ❤ Would it maybe a good idea to put a lining of cotton voile?
Beautiful 😅
Love this dress 😊
After a long time... 😊😊😊
Can you please teach us how to sew the blouse pattern you wear in this video??????? Itz lovely ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
So please 🙏🙏🙏🙏
Yes, finally back! Thank you so much for watching! I didn't actually make the blue blouse, but I'm planning a similar project soon that I will share!
Did you make the crinkle embroidered linens dress?
I don’t have any sewing friends to ask this question to so hopefully someone can help.
I have a sleeveless shirred midi dress (several actually) that I bought. The arm holes, while sufficiently big enough to wear the dress, feel so short with my sensory issues. Do you have any tips on making an arm hole larger on a dress with shirring? I need probably another 1” down on the opening.
It feels like the dress is IN my armpit 😂
Hi Lauren, this is so beautiful you've inspired me to incorporate trim! I love having a little stretch in the waist - do you think it would be possible with this pattern to add a panel of shirring perhaps to the back bodice piece? Either centrally or at the sides?
I've just checked the pattern! I guess I would need to shorten the back panel and add a shirred waist section before the skirt
the neckline fits well, lady-like. Classy...so many girls show way too much looking slightly trashy, leave something to the imagination. Nice dress, great video
Beautiful ❤
Where did you get the lace trim? They’re lovely.
Did you do the shirring in the green dress? Isn't shirring fun?! I enjoy it!
What a beautiful dress! I have had my eye on this sewing pattern for a while, but haven't made anything with it yet - but after seeing your video I think I should give it a try! :)
Thank you so much Mel! Hope you love it if you try it!
Just out of curiosity why didn’t you transfer your markings? Is it just a person preference To use the tissue paper to look for your markings?
I'd say a mix of personal preference and laziness! 😂 Sometimes I'll transfer them, but I'm not very consistent when it comes to the markings. Thanks so much for watching!
The dress is amazing :) did the patter came with this type of button hole? Or have you changed it? Thanks
What is the blue fabric you are wearing and what dress pattern is it?
Sadly I didn't make the blue blouse, but planning to make a similar style soon!
Hey I love this first song of the start of yr video….who is the singer?
I was debating about 7974 😂
What are your stats and what size you made ?
Hi Laura,I heard that this pattern has a lot of ease.
Which size did you go for?
Hi there, I believe I took my usual size which is a 12!
Hey its me, Jena! Just a question, where did you get you little coffee machine? It's so cute!❤😊❤
Would you consider maybe making a little modesty panel to put into the V- neckline? I think you could make it V-shaped and it would fit into the dress very well. If you top stitched one side and used a hook and eye on the other? Wonderful work as always Lauren.
Seam allowance not necessary?😊 From Hungary…

hello very nice young lady please kindly film a full video tutorial how to thread and operate the Kenmore sewing machine please OK?thank you very much 😊
I feel like the point of sewing your own clothes is to make things you can't buy in store or something unique. Not boring dresses.

I don’t want to hurt your feelings, but the music was a bit louder than you were, and you showed us the dress at the beginning! 😢
You need to lose the music in your video.. It's really annoying.. The dress turned out great. Video needs more of you talking... And no music..
