This was great, more please! I was keeping track of all the new changes at first, but I've lost track now. I'm sure I'll fail to see the implications of some new rules too, or just plain get them wrong, so more videos like this would be a great help.
Doubt I will use either strat much with my Blood Angels, though here is deffinitly the best to find out if I'm wrong there. If I have my deathcompany alive in sufficient numbers and in combat I would probably give it a go, or if something valuable is on 1 wound I may try it with a smaller unit. At only 1 in 6 chance of causing a mortal wound, units left at only half a dozen or less models are not going to do much, if anything. As for running away from combat, unlikely, but rare occasions and situations will always show up.
still playing catch up with vids here - kids remote learning makes a remarkable amount of work for me. Could you do an example video on interactions with Obscuring terrain? A lot of folks are confused (I think its pretty clear, and apparently so does GW as they haven't bothered to FAQ it) and its lead to shouting matches, which is... I guess we're all passionate about the hobby, and Covid has everyone on edge already. At the end of the day, its a game, guys, and yes you invest a lot of money, time, energy, and passion, but it is a game, should be fun, and wow, calm down, take a step back, and if you absolutely cannot agree, roll a dice, then revisit it later.
It's because it's a titanic unit. It can ignore walking over models due to its large size. The only caveat to that is that it must end it's movement or fall back not ontop of another models base.
So when you do desperate breakout you would always want to use advance since no penalty. Also fly should be able to escape using desperate breakout, but get hammered by cut them down. In the example of the knight falling back, why would the knight spend cp to take 6-7 mortal wounds when it can just shoot and then melee anyway? I might use cut them down (mostly have pistols so can shoot anyway), but probably never breakout unless it is really worth it, really only to be able to destroy the opponent's unit with other shooting (essentially suicide the unit and make opponent use cp).
Competat8ve edge does it double twice ? Eg I have six attacks but a competitive edge and razor flails So six attacks become 12 Then all that don't reach wound stage let's say 4 don't, I thought was then 4 but that guys saying is actually 8
@@VanguardTactics ok good to know. That would actually be a pretty good tactic, especially since according to the new rules for the fight phase, if it is my turn, my opponent gets to choose first might just kill the character. I could of course play the stratagem then as well, but doing so in the movement phase with the Desperate Breakout stratagem, I get to shoot the enemy models in my shooting phase as well. I hope that makes sense. And since I dont HAVE to move my model out of the engagement range, I can slay him 100% and do the combo.
@@beanspud88 Well yeah, I am thinking about a Smash Capain with a Thunderhammer. He will have at least 5 attacks and will thin down the unit even further to get shot afterwards.
@@888Blinky sure but that's really situational and very cp intense.. And as its a 2nd turn of combat you don't get shock assault. As a JP smash cap you could just fly off anyway.. Not many walking smash caps. (kinda beats the point of a smash cap)

A trick : watch movies on flixzone. Been using it for watching all kinds of movies recently.
@Zaid Imran Definitely, have been using Flixzone} for since december myself :D
@Zaid Imran definitely, I've been watching on flixzone} for since november myself :)
Hey guys let me know what you think to this new Warhammer 9th edition rules series. If you guys like it I will continue to make more.
I love it, please continue :)
Farid Joudi We already have the next instalment filmed. Just need to edit and will be available on Wednesday
Great so far. Hope when it comes out in full you do a breakdown on the rules in full and how to get the best results from them.

With guides like this you’ll have content for life lol 👍
That s on point, finally some examples and not only guys talking about the rules for hours! Thanks
Changes to charges! Massive change for assault armies. Also terrain.
Enjoyed the vid. MOAR!
This is a great video, seeing how it works on the table is awesome, thanks for this!
Blk Ice no problem at all
Love videos like this. Keep it up guys
Dan thanks mate

Blood angels already have a better 2cp strat for jump pack units to redeploy. Can't see this one ever being needed
@@nickjones9795 agreed.
As a Tau player ill only use the fall back stratagem since the killed the fly keyword
Dude Perfect job! I love this recipe for a video! It’s exactly what I’ve been looking for.

I don't often comment. But this is rock solid. I love the examples.
Isn´t there a problem at 4:40 with unit coherency?
Amazing, perfect. These videos are so helpful!!
Thanks very much, do you like the format?
@@VanguardTactics Yeah, it reminds me of the old tabletop titans videos. Easy and informative.
Another great tutorial!
Perfect format, it is really well done.
Cassius Khan thanks very much
4:48 I thought I read somewhere that you couldn't move or fall back if you had to go through enemy models, as they block your way. Am I wrong?
It's because it's a titanic unit. It can ignore walking over models due to its large size. The only caveat to that is that it must end it's movement or fall back not ontop of another models base.
Subbed instantly. You’ve got a great style of delivery and I’m learning a lot, which I desperately need 🌝
Warzone Morloc 40k thanks very much, really means a lot
Cheers, coach. Good summary
Thanks so much Chris
Looking sharp!
Can’t wait to see if I’d rather play Necrons, marines, IG, or Tau in 9th.
Can you show how the Obscure cover rules work, on the table top.
Absolutely we have this one filmed and will he releasing this week.
I am eager for the release of Eradicator marine kits so I can make a full army out of chunky Gravis armor marines

Adjustment of roll for monsters?? One d6 roll needing a 6 for a carnifex or tyrant :(
11:13 why are the last 2 models pulled off? 4 6's were rolled but "a total of 6" has me lost
Two guardsmen died when using the Desperate Breakout stratagem, so in total the guardsmen unit lost 6 models.
@@stevencarpenter8621 ok, that makes more sense. I was half asleep sleep when I saw this and it confused the heck out of me.

I have a question: Can I use the „Fight on Death“ stratagems When a Model dies through the desperate breakout stratagem?
Ba Ker I just checked the GK one and it says when slain so I don’t see why not. But I’d check your codex. Good question though.

@@888Blinky thats 4 cp to get 5/6 attacks.. Really needs to be a big hitter to get enough of a result

As a Harlequin player, I will definitely not be using desperate breakout!
Harlequins have some amazing tricks up their sleeve to get around this.
@@VanguardTactics I saw one of your videos with a few tips for Harlequins and I intend to use them. Thanks for tha, Vanguard Tacticst!
🔥
Aren't you forgetting "no escape"?
So making a melee sisters army wasn't stupid now.
tim scheuer,ann that’s a great choice
Yeah! My knights are probably not gonna be used in 9th but my bloody rose are gonna be bloody fantastic
Been enjoying the sun mate?
Hugh Titchener I sure have mate, and it’s our beautiful new studio lights.
@@VanguardTactics suns out guns out
The new terrain rules are sooo messy, both benefits and penalties and everything in between.
We have terrain in the next one. Great suggestion.
Hate it!
