  • In this short video, I install the R107 CIS fuel injectors, the injector seals and the injector insulating sleeves.
I am documenting every part of the engine build . The idea is to end up with the best documented 560SL rebuilds on the Internet.
Please subscribe to my TH-cam channel to support this project.
Links to the manual and links to all tools used in this video are below.
I want everyone who visits my channel to know about a friend of mine named Tasos. His videos inspire me to be more like him. He is so much better than I am. You can find his TH-cam channel at:
    / @tasosmoschatos
No special tools are needed to complete this job. Just your ordinary metric wrenches and sockets.
Here is a link to the on-line manual that I am somewhat following:

I will be doing a TH-cam live when I start this car for the very first time since 2008. Make sure you get notified when I publish a new video so you don't miss this special one-time event.

Really need to test or replace mine. Just a bit more difficult with the engine in. Very satisfying “pop” when they seat!

It was super nice to hear those pops! I think the reason is because I was using those rubber plugs on the top of the sleeves. I believe the rubber plugs sealed the injector tube so it compressed the air which eventually escaped and made the pops.

Love your work and knowledge man!
I’ve got a 450SL 74’ and one of my fuel injector holders bolt was stripped by the mechanic I took it to and he tried to fix it by boring a new hole and threads and put a new bolt in with some type of glue he said. Over $400 later and a stripped bolt. Still over heating and running worse than before I brought it to him. He specializes in German cars. His whole shop does. Anywho. The driveshaft join underneath the center “console” down from the shifter knob under the flat area. Sound like it’s loose or something. It wasn’t like that before I took it to him. I regret wasting my money and not just figuring it out myself and not breaking things and making it run worse.

Have you seen my video titled “The Incompetent Machinist”? He is a 38 year self employed machinist and everything he did for me was crap! th-cam.com/video/tSP3MIbSXhE/w-d-xo.html
Also see the video “Deburring The Cylinder Head” which is me repairing the machinist’s work. th-cam.com/video/alv1lJKd-N8/w-d-xo.html
