not a pro here and yes, practice is the difference so don't give up!! I love doing my own nails and have for years using acrylics in the beginning, *pew* but now the dips, are to die for!!

What is the purpose of creating an apex? I think the french manicure nail is gorgeous, but I think the apex makes teh nail look thick and not as natural.

Monica Little if it is shorter you really don’t need an apex it’s just more visually appealing! Once you start having more free edge it’s important.

How do you keep the base from bulking up at the tip when you do your smile line? I have The Kit and no matter how exact I follow your tutorial, the tip always seems bulky. Seems like the powder actually pushes the base coat and makes it thicker. I use a thin layer of base every time... suggestions??

I do lots of dip and I learn from every video of yours but this French dip I cannot master yet.. I’m just so picky with the line looking sharp and I feel like dip doesn’t have that sharp line (because of the powder) and I still cannot get that smile line correct.. I still will try. One thing I also find annoying is the clients stiff fingers

Can someone please tell me how to avoid my top coat brush from getting hard. I have tried so many methods and am very careful and I have even tried using alcohol to wip off the activator and my brushes are destroyed beyond repair. Please advise

Hi, I recently got the French kit but it is yellowing in the sun and pool. What could the problem be ???? I emailed the web site but have received no answer....the same with calling.
I got my nails done and the base looks too grainy. I was trying to explain that I think they used a too much of a light pink so you can see more of the powder. Can you explain to me why that happens? And what color pink I should use, I want it to be more my natural nail color pink but don’t want to see powder. Thank you!
I try it for first time and I like the process, but my concern is since is so a thin layer, I’m scare that the tips will break easy. Can anyone explain me their experience. Thanks.

I noticed 2 differences between this tutorial and one from a 2016.
This tutorial ....
1. Does not apply base over nail after all dipping is complete.
2. Does not have client wash hands.
Is this technique better then the other one? If so, why is it better?
Also, this tutorial pours pink over dipped white tip, while the other video dips into pink powder after dipping top in white.
Which way would you recommend and why?

Great questions. 💅🏻Our recommended methods do change over time. This one is definitely more current.
You could still have your client wash their hands in this method, or you can just clean off the filing with a lint free wipe. The only reason for washing after filing is to remove all the dust.
For the pink, we do recommend pouring pink over instead of dipping so that the white tip doesn't get contaminated with pigments from the pink. We'd recommend following this method. Hope this helps! 💕

Hi babe! We are sorry this happened! It could be caused by an allergy you could have, we recommend going to your doctor before using the product in that case.

What's the point of the natural dip powder that comes in the starter kit? None of your videos use it
Wow. This is the only video I've even seen with dip powder that actually looks beautiful and natural. I'm trying to convince myself to give powder another try, but I never ever like the results, so I'm afraid of investing the $ in it again. That looks pretty!
This was amazing!! I saw a dipping powder at rite aid the other day BUT it looks like it was only the powder now you put on a BUNCH of different preps and primers like do these drugstore dipping powders come with a total kit with everything you used or if I was to buy that powder would I have to get everything else somewhere different say a nail supply store or online... or do they not even sell the liquids at all?? cuz I had no CLUE these were all the steps until I looked it up the day I saw it.. so I didn’t think to look around for the different primers and things... but this French tip came out BEAUTIFULLY you did an outstanding job!!! Now when you poured on the pink powder I was confused a bit did you brush the whole nail with the stuff that made it stick then dipped into the white then poured on the pink?? Ahhhh this is so confusing 😩😩😩 I know my mother got me some of that dipping powder for Xmas so I’m trying to look up all I can on them so I’m sorry if I sound stupid or whatnot lol but what’s the point in getting just the powder 🤷🏻♀️🤷🏻♀️🤷🏻♀️ ya know... 🙄 and this tutorial was TOTALLY different from others I’ve seen on these powders so I’m WICKED CONFUSED.......
Ok if needs a little more strength I can add a coat of clear dip before the seal tho right?

I just did this technique for the first time, my smile lines aren't as crisp as hers but I'm impressed at how simple this actually was.. will be better with practice

I cannot say thank you enough! I recently decided to start doing my own nails but didn't think I'd be able to brush on the acrylic neatly with my left, but now see that I can just do DIP!! I'm excited! Yay me!

I've done a French dip a few times, what I am noticing is up close the pink (because if the transparency) has a grainy look. Is there a way to minimize this?

I love the French tip nails and powder dipping is new to me. I’m having problems with lifting. I have watched many videos on how to prep and I believe I’m doing everything right. I don’t use a drill but I do use a nail file. What am I doing wrong? Do you recommend just using a drill?
It's hard to pin point without seeing your process. 🧐
What grit file are you using? Are you dusting off the nail before you start dehydrating? Is it possible you touch the nail again after you cleansed? Also getting to close to the cuticle or side walls can cause lifting if you get product there. Try a mix of 3 part 90% isopropyl alcohol and 1 part pure acetone to wipe the nail after you remove the shine and before you dehydrate.

Base coat instead of activator?
Hey babe! You first go in with Bond, then your Base, and then the Activator/Seal Protect is the 3rd step in the process. Once you've added your layers with Base and you file shape and buff, then you would go in with the activator. Hope this helps! 💖
