    Nice bit o kit that. ALMOST makes me wish I had waited a year before pulling the trigger on the Rage 5-s. Short of the horrible dust collection on it, it works. Does what I need it to do and hasn't missed a beat since coming out of the box. All that said, doesn't mean I'm no drooling over that saw! Take care & stay safe M8.

    It looks like an evolution of the Metabo HPT saw of which I use an offshoot of. That sliding bit of the table looks very enticing if it's done well and the tracks don't clog with sawdust. Also the miter adjustment knob if it's like the one on mine isn't so nice as the locking mechanism can throw off any micro adjustment you make. I'd like to check it out here in Canada but it's doubtful I'll get the chance.

    • @sumeraybuilds

    Now I really tough question.
    Shoud I buy this table from evolution or the dewalt dwe 7845?
    I already have one but is garbage , the angle is never good or it takes too much time to adjuste , so noe that I have the buget for "real" tools I would go for the Best (dewalt everey body prise it) but this one looks to be a lil bit better for some features (that extra hinge for crosscuts). So witch one should I got for ( my opinios for right now would stilul be the dewalt because i know i wont be dissapointed)

    • @sumeraybuilds
      @sumeraybuilds  หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      It’s too early for me to make that call. I’ve not used the Evolution much beyond initial testing and the DeWalt has stood the test of time (2 years so far).
      The evolution certainly offers better value for money and more features. The build quality is also good, but I think uses slightly cheaper materials than the DeWalt.
      It’s certainly between this and the Dewalt for me.

    Does this saw take a dado stack and how wide a dado? Also if you raise the blade to do a rabbet does the blade stay at that height
    Thru the whole cut?

    • @sumeraybuilds
      @sumeraybuilds  4 วันที่ผ่านมา

      Hey Mike! So... Evo aren’t certified in the UK and EU to say that the saw can take a dado stack. Could it? Theoretically yes, but like I say, they can’t advise it for legal reasons.
      The blade would stay at the same height though.

    01:23 you show the mitre gauge then you put a clamp on it and proceed to clamp a piece of wood down to the table saw bed which if i’m not mistaken then prevents you from actually using the mitre gauge because it’s clamped and wont slide

      It's as good as any of the mitre saws I've covered (DeWalt & SKIL)
      Peoples opinions usually depend on the level of accuracy required. If you just need to cross cut something that doesn't need to be ultra precise then these are all fine. If you need something that's perfect then you'll be much better off buying a third party one or better yet making a cross cut sled.

    I have had a few evolution saws but I was not that impressed. I found the fence useless, the mitre gauge was sloppy and the motor shaft always had a wobble to it. The table was not flat and the mitre slots were not parallel to the blade even after adjusting. I think it would be good for site carpentry where crappy cuts do not matter so much. If you are doing finishing work or have business aspirations then I would probably spend a bit more and go for something else

      It’s to prevent wood from twisting or pinching on the back side of the blade which would cause it to ride up the blade and kick back at you. Not just small offcuts, but some rather large ones too

    • @Pygex
      @Pygex 12 วันที่ผ่านมา +1

      To greatly reduce the risk of kick back which is caused by slightly tilting the work piece causing the rising teeth on the back to fling the piece back at you with a huge force.
      The thing that prevents small things being flung at you is a zero-clearance insert.
      The raving knife on this one is not that optimal because you can't make dados while having it on (it's longer than the blade). The saw I have has two raving knives, one with the guard and one without which matches the height of the blades.
