Loved the background music. Traveling Man is very appropriate. Congratulations to both of you on your anniversary. I think this marriage is going to make it.
Sorry......It was where you were driving back to the rental.. Yes, you were driving in this video not me. That's what I get in typing a comment at 3:30am in the morning coming in from work totally tired....
Yes I do know the joys and sorrows of aviation life. I’ve been in the field for 20 yrs and it’s tuff on relationships and kids. Congratulations to you and the misses.
Enjoy the videos. San Antonio is a great town. I was a police Officer for 23 yrs, know all about missing holidays, birthdays, and other family stuff. My wife also put up with me for 32 yrs. Actually got to use my PPL till the darn kids wanted to go to college, then no money for flying! So keep the videos coming, it's the only way some of us get of the ground anymore.
Congratulations on your wedding anniversary! My daughter did the river walk a couple of years back and really enjoyed it. Another great upload Captain!
Good to see SAT via video again. Flew for Merlin One, located in the Millionair Building. And funny enough, we stayed at the same hotel while we were doing our CE-650 training at FSI. We will be back again in March for recurrency.
Happy anniversary to you and the missus, Jim. I wish I had known you guys were in SA, I would have bought you and Mike lunch or dinner. Glad you got to experience some of what our great city has to offer. Come back and bring your wife next time! 😊
Congrats on the anniversary Jim :) I can Well appreciate the pros and cons with flying - at least at your level where you are away sometimes for a while, living out of a suitcase.. Gorgeous weather in Tx, initially at least... and an interesting Alamo visit. River area looks super. Another great video Jim - so enjoyable sharing your trips (and eating places sometimes!).
Met my wife along the Riverwalk. She was living in Buffalo at the time, I was living in San Diego. We did the long distance thing for about 6 months and she moved to San Diego. 18 years and three kids later, still need to go back there for a visit.
Another great ride Jim and Mike ! You were in my old stomping grounds. I have a lot of family in San Antonio. It's an incredible place. Love Riverwalk and the great Mexican food there.
I see you have Mike along for some flights not all. What’s the determination. Congrats on your Anniversary. I love your Vlogs. Keep up the good work. Happy Holidays. Bob
Good ole SAT. I spent some time there. That’s where we went when the BAC 1-11 needed work, Dee Howard. Don’t think there around any more. Next time your in SAT go over to the parking garage. I’m not sure which one it is but, I bet if you ask at the FBO they will know. There you will find the wings of the plane I used to fly as art work at the entrance. Yup, you read right. Once my plane was written off, long story. It was just left to rot. That’s when an artist came up with the idea of cutting the entire tail off as well as the wings. I haven’t been down there but I did find out that’s what became of them. Funny, now that I’m retired I’m taking for granted being around for all the special events of the real world. The only holiday I was able to get home for every year was Christmas, that’s it. If the plane was in Europe I’d fly home commercially but have to be back right after the holiday. It’s great watching your videos. I can sit back and relive my days of flying through you. Thanks!!
I had to laugh at your and Mike's comment about finding the hotel at 5:12. I stayed at that same hotel last month for work and yes, it *was* quite the challenge! Congrats on the anniversary and thanks for all of the excellent content you produce - I really enjoy it!
San Antonio looks delightful and the Alamo was interesting, more burger and fries hmmmm not so. Pleased to see some excercise undertaken there Jim. You're looking in fine form. Looking forward to the Anniversary Dinner video!
Congratulations on the anniversary. I flew charter for a ton of years. Missed out on allot of things as well like you mentioned. Great vlog and look forward to the next one.
Jim, great video illustrating life of a corporate pilot! Thanks for sharing your experiences. I hope you are home for the holidays and have a Merry Christmas!
Hey Jim. Congrats on the anniversary. I reckon that you'll just have to bring Kris down under for some olive harvesting to make up for it. he he he. #olivesolives.
Great video Jim! I work part-time for Delta on the ramp across from Million-Air. I love to watch the different private jets that come into San Antonio. I’m also a firefighter with the city and my station is in the downtown area. Next time your in town I’ll give you a ride in my fire truck!!!
Great video Jim, I was just there staying at River Walk 2nd to the 3rd. This job takes alot of understanding from the family and a very special significant other. I hope you get some time with them during the holidays. Safe flying and Happy Holidays.... John
It seemed like a year went by with no vids, now we have 2 back to back! Heck yea! I love your channel soo much i joined the pateron! It has inspired me to go for it! Something i thought was out of reach, now seems possible! I LOVE aviation! Shortly after the first of the year i will be focusing full time on training.
Congratulations to you both. It’s ours on 22nd Dec 44 yrs. We are retired now but flew for over 60 yrs between us, it was tough at times but we made it & like you I bet would do it all again.
Congrats on your anniversary. I sat next to a Comair captain many years ago deadheading to his base. Chatted about the industry, life and relationships. He said he was suffering from "AIDS"; Aviation Induced Divorce Syndrome. It's a tough life, but you must have found a strong partner. Congrats!
Forget the name Capnmoonbeam,...it should be "Snackoholic, lol! I am so glad you spoke of some truth's about working as a pilot. There are always interruptions in the personal life in the transportation industry whether it is with wheels or wings. The best explanation that I would tell my friends it was called the, "Hurry up and wait game!" (Now that I read thru some of the comments I see that you clearly know that statement well!) Congrat's on your anniversary too!
As an 738 pilot for a major. I've missed out on so many things ! I am a young pilot, but I've been flying for majors for 5 years now. The job is great and all, but you miss out on the most important things in life. I won't recommend the job to anyone who wants a family or a relationship.
I am flying in Europe, I don't think it will get better as a senior. There is still a big chance that the company will go bust, and you have to find something else. The best you can do, is to get children. At least in my company you have the right to work 80% if you have children that are less than 12 years old.
Don't get me wrong, I've been in a relationship for many years ! But I do know a lot of pilots who are now divorced. Or can't get family life working with this job, especially in Europe where you are forced to move to other countries to work.
nice video. My wife (of 50! years) is from San Antonio and we bounce back and forth from So Cal. Always a priority for me to get Texas BBQ brisket on visits to Texas. Steaks and burgers available everywhere, but not so real Texas BBQ! If you have to do meal planning, San Antonio is not a bad place for that anyway.
More time and expertise needed for meal planning than flight planning. Then hurry up and wait, hurry up and wait. Reminds me of a military/government operation.
Been a while. Missed your Vlogs. Hope your Thanksgiving was great and this finds you and your family well. And have a Very Merry Christmas 🎁🎄🎅🏻❄️☃️👨🏼✈️🛩 from KSRQ
Congrats on 33 years! That's pretty awesome. Ahhh, the life of a corporate/charter pilot, hurry up and wait. Great video. The last time I was in San Antone, I was there for a few weeks, but didn't get to see too much, since I was at Lackland AFB for Basic Training. Summertime in San Antone is NO FUN! :p

Thanks, so do I

Yes I do know the joys and sorrows of aviation life. I’ve been in the field for 20 yrs and it’s tuff on relationships and kids. Congratulations to you and the misses.
Thanks Aviate.
Hi Jim, Congrats on your anniversary. Two persons that are truly in love. Great fun flying with you and Mike sometime. thx
Those Chrome wings, so sleek. Congrats on the anniversary! Here's to many more!
Thanks Sean, I'm looking forward to many more.
Hehehehe!! That King Air looked really nice in the parking lot there when I were driving the rental back to the rental office...Fly safe...
Enjoy the videos. San Antonio is a great town. I was a police Officer for 23 yrs, know all about missing holidays, birthdays, and other family stuff. My wife also put up with me for 32 yrs. I know what you mean about the college thing.
Another great video. Yes, I know the exact feeling missing out. Working for the railroad is no different. Thank god we have understanding spouses.
You're right.
Congrat's On 33.Keep Up The Good Work; On Your VLOGS & Wife. 😊
Thanks Eric
Nice to see San Antonio again. Nice place to visit.

Congratulations on your wedding anniversary! My daughter did the river walk a couple of years back and really enjoyed it. Another great upload Captain!
Thanks AL.
Good to see SAT via video again. Flew for Merlin One, located in the Millionair Building. And funny enough, we stayed at the same hotel while we were doing our CE-650 training at FSI. We will be back again in March for recurrency.
I used to fly the 650 and San Antonio is where we trained.
Thanks for sharing your adventures, Jim.
Thanks for watching them.
Happy anniversary to you and the missus, Jim.
I wish I had known you guys were in SA, I would have bought you and Mike lunch or dinner.
Glad you got to experience some of what our great city has to offer. Come back and bring your wife next time! 😊

You need to go there for an anniversary trip.
Congratulations on your anniversary. I admire your skill at finding your way around an airport at night.
That can be challenging.
Love the tie!!!
Congrats on the anniversary, Jim! Years later, your videos have only gotten better. Keep up the great work!
Thanks Alex, will do.
Working at Million Air KSUS it's always interesting to see the other branches in your videos.
Thanks James. I used to stop in your place all the time when I flew the Encore.
Another great ride Jim and Mike ! You were in my old stomping grounds. I have a lot of family in San Antonio. It's an incredible place. Love Riverwalk and the great Mexican food there.
it's a great place to spend some time.
Yep, San Antonio is a fun town. Love the River Walk! Thanks, Cappy. Good work.
It was a good way to spend an afternoon.
Just flew some clients to Stinson just south of there. Definitely a nice break from the cold.
We thought the same thing.
Congratulations to the both of you on your 33rd anniversary.
Thanks
I love the little kid who in the background when you were at the river asked, “are there alligators in there?” Lol😎👍
I missed that.
👍 on 30 + years & 👍 on the video! 🌞
Happy very belated aniversary.
Captain, you do a really nice job of telling a story with video. Keep it up
thank you
I see you have Mike along for some flights not all. What’s the determination. Congrats on your Anniversary. I love your Vlogs. Keep up the good work. Happy Holidays.
Bob
I fly four different aircraft and he only works on the Excel

Hi Rich. That's great. I'd rather my airplane be someones art project than made into bear cans. Have a great Christmas Rich.
I had to laugh at your and Mike's comment about finding the hotel at 5:12. I stayed at that same hotel last month for work and yes, it *was* quite the challenge! Congrats on the anniversary and thanks for all of the excellent content you produce - I really enjoy it!
We were almost there then, thought this cant be it and drove around the block again.
Happy Anniversary to you and your wife Captain. I like the tie. The Coaching/Teaching Profession takes a special wife as well.

captmoonbeam awesome!!!! I cant wait!! Watching your vids is pretty much the only relaxation time i have! Sad i know.... lol
Client spends who knows what on a private charter flight to San Antonio, stops at McDonalds for breakfast. Love it! Another great video!
They own the airplane, gotta cut back somewhere to make those payments.
I live north of Houston and visit San Antonio once to twice per year, great city! Looks like you had a good trip!
We did, seems like a nice place to live.
Yes, you miss out on may things with your family.. You do and you just pray and hope that you wife/partner and family can put up with you flying....
Congratulations to you both. It’s ours on 22nd Dec 44 yrs. We are retired now but flew for over 60 yrs between us, it was tough at times but we made it & like you I bet would do it all again.
That's great and I know it can be a major achievement especially with both of you flying.
Congrats on the anniversary Captainmoonbeam
thanks.
Congrats!

There is Nothing More important In a Mans Life then a Good Wife! (Happy Anniversary !)
As always a Great Video
I agree.

Great vlog as always!

Happy anniversary Capt!

Nice landing. AOA was spot on this time. :-)
Thanks.
Another excellent video!

I would definitely tell someone going into this what it's like. For a lot of people it wouldn't work.
Does it get better when you get more senior? I’ll be going into the regionals soon, aiming to have a family at some point later in life
I am flying in Europe, I don't think it will get better as a senior. There is still a big chance that the company will go bust, and you have to find something else. Alamo so cool......would you put driving or flying more stress full.....
definitely the driving.
Happy Anniversary!!
Thanks.

Steaks and burgers available everywhere, but not so real Texas BBQ! If you have to do meal planning, San Antonio is not a bad place for that anyway.
Great food in San Antonio. For some dishes like great BBQ you gotta go to the source region.
Looking very nice....
Thanks
More time and expertise needed for meal planning than flight planning. Then hurry up and wait, hurry up and wait. Reminds me of a military/government operation.
Hurry up and wait is our motto.
Thanks for a nice video
You got lucky and missed the snow we had in San Antonio on the 9th.
Fantastic weather when we were down there.
Been a while. Missed your Vlogs. Hope your Thanksgiving was great and this finds you and your family well. And have a Very Merry Christmas 🎁🎄🎅🏻❄️☃️👨🏼✈️🛩 from KSRQ
Thanks Dennis
Happy anniversary cap.
thank you.
33 years!! That's some balancing act; congratulations - have the last cookie. :)
thanks and I did.
thanks Gary. Hot and dusty in the summer but a great place to visit in the winter.
forgot to add, the last time I was on the river walk before this trip, we were there for our sons graduation from Lackland
Well, something else I didn't know about you, you have a son that is either in, or was in, the Air Force! Aim High!
Best youtube vlogger! Love it!
thanks you
I find it quite eerie that the chosen soundtrack for a flight video features Ricky Nelson. A singer who died in a plane crash.
AAAARRGH!!! I totally missed that.
So long between great Vlogs, miss your flights Capt.
Starting a new one today.
Interesting insights into the history of Texas. Where is the cradle of freedom in Missouri? Is there any?
We live a few miles from Defiance, Missouri. That might be it.
I was just down in SAT, saw your plane down there, but y'all weren't there.
Sorry we missed you.
Next time you have a flight to Rochester Minnesota I can recommend some good restaurants for you
I could use a few.
captmoonbeam I would be more than happy to show you places if you’re interested
When I was there 36 years ago in the USAF we were warned to not be out along the Riverwalk at night.Hopefully it's nicer now,I just might make my way out there again.Oh if by chance I hit a big lottery can I hire you to fly my M2 or XLS.
I hope you hit the 250M+ powerball.
Nice video again. Thanks for the content :)
thanks AUS.
Love your videos!!!! Need more!!! Lol
Thanks
Working good now sir
Thanks,
Nice video Jim. :)
Thanks Collin.
Was in San Antonio for a few hours recently when my Texas Eagle train joined the Sunset Limited before I headed on to LA. Went on the river walk late at night! Which is your favourite Cessna to fly?
The M2 is my favorite. I love train trips and that sounds like a fun one.
captmoonbeam I’m from England so can only afford to come over occasionally but did the Southwest Chief LA-Chicago then Texas Eagle Chicago-LA 5 nights! My favourite for scenery is the California Zephyr through the Rockies near Denver.
Keep having fun at work. Early retirement sucks except for early morning TH-cam.
I've been thinking about that a lot and what you said seems to be true.
Can you recommend me a private jet with great build quality with in 10 million dollar budjet. What is your opinion about the learjet or
Cessna or embrear phenom. I am just worried about the range of budget business jets .
I really like the Cessna jets. Haven't flown the lears or phenom.
Mike, the captn is always right, except when he is lost, lol, and why was the mariachacie *cant spell* band guys chasing you
I lost my Mariachi tail when I slipped into the restaurant.
So I have a question for you. With trips like this that start out with a mid afternoon departure and turn into an evening departure, how do you handle filing your flight plan? Do you wait until you absolutely know when you are for sure leaving or do you end up filing multiple flight plans during the day since they will time out after a certain period of time?
When one times out I file another one or I'll call ground or clearance on the radio and have them update it.
Great work. I like to figure out how you sequence all the clips!
I use Power Director 15 and a lot of trial and error.
Hello Captain Moonbeam. i hope you are well. What is a yaw damper and how and when is it used????
It reduces the effects of dutch roll. The simple explanation is that it keeps the tail from moving back and forth and is only off for takeoff and landing.
captmoonbeam Thanks Captain! Take care and have a Wonderful Christmas. I love your vids. I wanted to pilot as a boy but failed medical.....so I watch you instead!!
Captain, Wich airplane you like to fly the most ? Which one is more pilot friendly? Thanks
The answer to both questions is the Citation M2
captmoonbeam thanks captain
Any advice for someone starting a piloting career? How would you juggle multiple part time flying jobs?
First make lots of pilot friends. People know you've gotta put food on the table. When I was doing that, it was always whoever called first, I was working for that day.
If you are ever at Pittsburgh International again, have lunch at Primanti's. Great sandwich. Thanks for the vids.
