This was the first roller coaster I’ve ridden and can’t say I loved it during the ride. I didn’t know that you can personalize your music for the whole ride so when I found out, I jokingly picked J-pop. Boy let me tell you, I was seated with a group of japanese girls who were just giggling the entire time meanwhile I was fighting for my life and was thinking, “damn this might be it, about to die while listening to some random J-pop song, if i live from this i should start making smarter decisions.” Solid 10/10 would ride again.
UPDATE: Song was 大阪LOVER (Osaka Lover), went back again earlier this year and chose shake it off by taylor swift this time. Ngl Osaka lover was better.
I loved that jpop song.

Rode the backdrop by accident @ USJ... me and my sister were waiting in line - and beforehand, I've never heard of a 'backdrop' ride. So when we came to the separation line, the nice japanese lady asked "Front, or back?" And my naive mind thought she was asking for which seats (stupid, ikr). Boy, my heart just sank to my heels when I saw that the coaster went backwards...

Same lmao, when we went there, there was this 2 separate lines, and of course we went to the shorter line. It turns out it was for the backwards part and my dad backed out HAHAHA, but me and my mom got to enjoy it
In my opinion, the backwards one is less scary than the forwards one
I had a similar experience, I was 9 when I played this, I was scared of the coaster, but my brothers made me ride it. They said it was the front version but it was actually the backdrop, my heart died when I saw the backwards verison when it was our turn. Not to say we played it at night making it more scary.
Funny facts
-everybody was looking at me while I was lining up
- it was very cold when I was lining up
-it is the 3rd Mh brothers tricked me into playing rollar coasters.
Way more intense than it looks on film. Going backwards I felt the drop all the way through the initial drop, the first incline, and the second drop. So scary. Frontwards packs a punch too.
like many ppl this was my first "big" coaster ride. it was like 4/5 years ago when i visited. I was never big on excited rides at all and only played family coasters, but somehow i decided to line up and take this ride. waited an hour...i can remember clearly that the first drop was intense, but right after it it was all fun, and another memorable thing is of course the music that plays at the back of your seat. very happy to have lined up for this, and since then i have ridden on another "big" coaster and i realize i enjoy playing roller coasters, which i never knew...this gets me a bit emotional. feels like i have grown as a person and overcome some sort of barrier

Hollywood Dream is perhaps the most memorable coaster i've ever ridden. The awesome music is a huge part of that. Did you guys know u can change the track playing in your seat with a personal control???
omg sameee I rode this ride five years ago listening to the songs "Feel this moment" and "Live for the night". It was awesome! I still rmb riding it just before the park closes so there were little people queuing for the ride, I played like three times consecutively. Besides, the night view with all the roller coaster lights on and the night breeze blowing makes the ride even more memorable 💙

I've never been on backwards roller coaster before so I knew I had to try this one out. When the coaster drops I almost fainted, I didn't expect it to be THAT intense. Awesome coaster, this.

Last week, me and my 12 years old sister rode the backdrop right after we enter the USJ, then every other roller coaster feels mild to us. Tried to raised my hands during the fall after the peak, but then it felt like the roller coaster fell faster than me falling, which is scary af 😂😂😂

this scared the crap out of me! I rode the forward version and I was desperately clawing at the speakers on top of my seat just to grab on to something
I've wait in the line 2 hours to play it!!! Literally amazingg!!
waited 3 hours in line for this ride, WORTH IT.
The regular line was 2hrs but I just went in single rider line and bypassed everyone got on it in 5 minutes.
Truly memorable this coaster. Especially at night with all the lights plus the music. Next time I’ll do the backdrop, ran out of time.

I was on the front of the hollywood ride and that first fall was like a near death experience for me.

I almost come back to this video to relive the experience of riding this awesome coaster. On our way and that seemingly encouraging Japanese voice really added to the great experience. It's like I'm engaged with all my senses so I remember it all the better!

i rode this roller coaster with my cousin on Dec ‘18 and we chose forwards and omg i say that was the scariest ride i have ever went on,, i mean i couldn’t imagine backwards

One month ago, we used the Backdrop. The sudden drops made me feel like I fell faster than anything. The sharp turns made me scream as a Loud.
Me and my brothers enjoyed it. I might say "No. I don't enjoy it.", but it was fun.
This ride looks so awesome and longer than you would expect

You can also choose music to the roller coaster for chills. I once pressed number 5 because the staff said it was recommended song, turns out it was the song called "Happy" from Pharell Williams.
I loved that ride I'm going back there on Labor Day can't wait!

I went on that roller coaster yesterday you should pick song 1 at night. Also if the person next to you pick the song that you're playing it will be louder.

This ride kinda feels like it should’ve been at a Disney park.
Maybe if Disney were to contract B&M to build a hyper coaster (not much of a hyper but more of a ride that’s around 125 to 145 feet), this would be the result.

For me 2nd row, I had the option to go to the front but I denied it because it was winter, I liked it, but because I'm very light I didn't like the airtime
I rode the Hollywood dream with my sister and on the loop or in front the loop is our hotel 😂 so like we can visit and buy things at universal studios everyday

Im here because I rode this last february and im curious of what the rollercoaster looks like since I closed my eyes and focus on the music the entire ride lol
I rode yesterday and came here to watch the video with my son as it was his first "big" coaster.
They are really strict about phnoes and cameras now, and there are multiple pocket checks and a metal detector check.
I went this summer in August, and it was AMAZING. Probably even better than the one in Orlando. It was during the Jump Summer, or something like that, so there was a lot of anime attractions. Nothing Detective Conan though, that ended in June. But I remember my friend and his mom dragging me onto the ride, and it was terrifying. I was hesitating, and they suddenly had three express tickets so they took me along. With One Direction blasting in my eardrums and a Japanese man probably screaming bloody murder next to me, it was great

I took the ride yesterday forward one and d it was my first ever ride and believe me it was sooo intense and scary. I think it was my first and last ever ride in my life.
I didn't scream because I forgot to scream I was so much focusing on to hold the grip while I was jumping out of my seat soo f*** up.

I’ve been on that ride it’s so much fun
I remember riding this with my family, it was our first ride of the day. We went to Universal Studios Singapore before and they had a similar coaster and it was thrilling but pretty tame, so we thought it would be a good, solid first ride. Big mistake on our part, didn't expect it to be so intense. Had to take a breather after cause it honestly felt like I was going to die. It was okay but I will never ride it again

Hate to break it to ya, but I think our Hollywood Rip Ride Rockit is better. There’s more song selections, a bigger drop, and a non-inverting loop that’s super cool! I will say HD’s tunnel is super cool, though.
