Did you enjoy the case at the end in this video? I'm thinking of adding more of my own cases into my videos. Let me know!

I was diagnosed with MGD caused mainly by ocular rosacea. A number of treatments have improved my condition:
    .eyelid cleanser once a day
    .sunscreen
.using sunglasses even on cloudy days
    .artificial tears (systane complete)
.blinking more often while using the computer
    .moisture chamber glasses
    .taking an omega 3 supplement
    .air humidifier
Did that patient experience an improvement after the IPL? Your channel has helped me a lot, thanks for your work. Greetings from Argentina.

Hi, I am bigtime suffering with DED,MGD and blepharitis. I read your list you do. I am doing pretty much same.
      Lid scrubs daily
      Cequa 2xsday
      PF refresh Octave PRN
      Often daily
      Sleep with contour mask
(Also have lagophthalmus(eye doesn’t close 100% when sleeping)
      Sunglasses as you do
Hydro eye supplements 4 per day
      I’M GOING NUTS!
I am extremely limited on phone or computer. (Eyes burn)
Any suggestions you can offer? I don’t have humidifier.
Help me if you have any suggestions. Ty

@@pattyschrider1681 Hello, I recently had a major improvement in my conditon, due to withdrawing every moisturizer or cream that had eye-harming chemichals on it. I don't know if you use any cosmetic/sunscreen near the eye area.. if you do, try to do the same as I did. It was really life-changing to me.

@@pattyschrider1681 They are basically swimming goggles to wear when using the computer or reading. They create a moisture rich environment around the eye area. They work, but are not as useful as the other things I named. Plus, they are usually very very expensive. I hope my suggestions helped, best of luck on the improvement of your condition.

My opthamologist said tretinoin (retinol) can cause dry eyes even if it is placed on the face away from the eyes. I am hesitant to use any of the anti-aging products which contain it for this reason.

My symptoms of dry eye/MGD started a month after a lash lift and tint (I believe the lady placed the perming solution too close to my eyelid margins where the meibomian glands are located, because I remember it burned during the treatment). I also used eyelash growth serums in the past that may have contributed. Since there are no dry eye specialists in my country, I went untreated with blocked glands for almost a year, and my symptoms went from bad to SEVERE within some months. I also developed a lot of other issues such as swollen lids, telangiectasia and lash loss. I am currently getting IPL, but my glands are a complete mess from almost a year without proper treatment.. It's a nightmare :'(

Yes the case studies are very helpful, informative, and interesting! Can you go over which chemicals to avoid in makeup and skincare with a list in the screen so we can take screenshots? I am still learning 😅 so this would be so helpful. And if you know of OTC products we can find in our local stores (like Target?) for skincare and makeup. Like if a product is labeled “clean” is that ok-or is it not necessarily good? For example I have bought a Covergirl mascara that is waterproof (since I need to put eye drops in all day) and it is labeled as “clean” and the only drugstore product I have found that is available, so far. Thank you! Love your informative videos!! So thankful for the information!

What % of patients with mgd are pre or diabetic? Any studies or just experience with hundreds of patients? Wonder what impact low carb would have on inflammation?

Dr. D, Since I have followed you tube I’ve heard several mention that doxycycline can be beneficial to DED and MGD. Are you familiar with this and if so, will you explain or tell me where I can find out more about it.
I’m still hoping to get up to you soon. In the meantime, I’m seeing a new opthamologist on Monday, May 2nd. She seems very familiar with my dx. However idk until I see her. They do have DED specialist in office. I’m not going back to the dr. I was with. So, until I can see you, wish me luck, prayers!
Looking forward to getting your opinion on the doxycycline.
I also sent a separate message under sjogrens. It was an old post and I need more specific info re labcorp test for sjogrens instead of rheumatologist and endocrinologist. I saw both. All negative and request lip biopsy. I’m too scared to do it. Not to mention my ENT wasn’t enthusiastic about it.
    Thank you, Patty S.

I am being examined for dry eyes, and trying to update my skincare regime to products that are safe for the eyes. I have really been helped by your content. I was chocked to discover that retinol are harmful for the eyes, no one have ever informed about this before. But there is still many substances i can´t find information on. 1,2-Hexanendiol is used in many products as a replacement for parabens, but while some says it´s totally safe others claim that it can cause irritation. But the question is not if it´s safe for the skin, does anyone here knows if it safe for the eyes?

I think the concentration is critical. I found one study on common preservatives that says they’re pretty much all toxic at higher concentrations.

washing the eyelids with baby shampoo helps a lot, also applying heat for 20-40 minutes works pretty well but my sight gets cloudy until I use goulard water for other minutes. I ordered a peep club eye wand gonna check if this works any better.

Hello doctor, I think I'm having a dry eye and I think it's caused by poor tear quantity, it seems like my oil film is stable to retain moisture in my eyes, and since it lacks water it sometimes makes my eyes feel oily. Can you suggest supplements that could help me boost my normal tear production, is lutein and zexeathin helpful?
