They just removed shared spaces in grandma's area (earlier, removed some aspects of shared memories that made them useful). They are removing everything that keeps sky easily playable for me, as a person with a chronic illness, a busy day and an empty pocket. For the last few months I've seriously considered quitting. I'm not even an old player but I'm already burnt out. Sky has become a chore, not an escape. Just another job.
Another thing, I know f2p players might not be valuable to TGC, which is why they keep making everything IAP and all free things expensive, BUT even players who make purchases are getting burnt out. What is the point spending so much money on this game if you get nothing in return? And yes, TGC needs to make money bla bla but are we going to ignore the fact that since the beginning they've been making BANK while still having great items free? (Or at least pass) ANOTHER THING clearly the game can survive without everything being so expensive because the Chinese version has so many free/cheap items. Sure, the government might have some part in it but clearly it's possible. Some players have said that it's because china's economy is down or something...clearly if players show that they can't pay, changes are made. All ot takes is for IAP players to start boycotting or at least spending less. It's a sacrifice for them but I'm sure it would benefit everyone.
Bro, use hacks. U need two devices and two accounts. One is your main account logged in in regular Sky app, second one is your alt moth account opened in app called Canvas with mod Dukun Langit (for Android) or TSM (for PC) installed. Take your alt's hand and teleport on your main around wax places. It takes around 45-60 minutes to get 20 candles a day this way, if u r playing alone (and about 1,5 hours with friends cus they always disconnect and autoburn plants dont work if u r not alone at server). They wont ban your main account for this and most probably u wont even get a warning. Alt account will be banned in 2-3 months but u ll just make another one. Ive been playing like this for 3 months and didnt even get a warning for my main. I CR every day with 2-6 friends. Noone of us got warnings for hacks. Highly recommend. Stop playing "fairly" in a game which is cruel, overpriced and unfair by design. It is they who are cheating, not u. CR & dailies shouldnt take 3 hours every day, it is insane.

My biggest complaint about this game will always be the heart system. TGC isn't happy about people doing heart trades in order to farm hearts, yet they don't add easier ways to get hearts... My only way of completing any of the main constellations was gathering 7+ strangers, and heart trading with them every day. It took up ALL of my candles, and I had no room for saving up candles for traveling spirits or those expensive event items. It's crazy.
I know you said “was” but for future hearts if you ever need them..make an alt, bring it with you to candle run, let ppl add both u and ur alt , send them their heart from the alt and they send yours to ur main. This was how lots of ppl did it back then and i believe it still works easily
Hearts aren't even a valid currency anymore. Devs jut completely stopped using them since we have event tickets now and those were mainly for event items.

Like the one of the Days of Sunlight capes which cost event tickets last year costs hearts this year or the Days of Style ballet shoes which costs hearts as well. Event items which cost tickets are on the year they are introduced and they eventually get turned into igc currency items next year.

"People who love sky, but TGC is making it hard to" is such a good rappresentation of how I feel about the game. I love sky, i think it's a game with an incredible concept and ideas. I've spent countless hours playing and made many friends and memories along the way. Despite that though, it's clear as day that the game itself has terrible quality control, and some of the IAPs are waay overpriced. I love the game, I WANT to love the game, but tgc is making it more and more clear that they're beginning to not care about that anymore. I'm not gonna say the usual "tgc greedy" stuff that's been said over and over, I'm more concerned about the fact that tgc thinks that releasing an update with game breaking bugs that make certain features literally unplayable is a normal thing and doesn't need fixing.
I've talked about this to my friends SOOO many times already and it always feels like a job. Tgc are taking the community's generosity for granted that with every criticism the company gets, anyone in the community would start attacking that person despite the statement not even being far from the truth. It feels like eversince tgc has been glorified over their 'hardwork' because they're a 'small company', They've been taking advantage of that. Not only that, Tgc never really listened to the demands of the community. They only DO listen if it's a game bug, But even that they relentlessly struggle with. It's pretty ironic for a 'small company' to not have the closer access to hear the demands and plea of the community when it should be their best advantage to have a closer bond to its users.
As a veteran, i play sky from more than 3 years, and tbh, it has changed. Prices are wayy to explansive, both the iaps, and the 'free' items, like, tf u mean that some hair costs 150 candles😭 (the alice hair event). At this point it's like tgc keeps sky alive just for money, for examples, now there are A LOT more collabs than before, it's not like i don't like em (for example, the season of little prince and AURORA were amazing), but, i feel like they're making them more often to get MORE money, and they are like.. Forgetting about the game itself, the lore for example, let's talk about the season of shattering, i waited for a lot for a season like that, darkness/light these things that probably were about the sky lore, but all the quest were the same and repetitive. I miss the old sky. Now i came back to the game after basically quitting, just relaxing a bit, like, just ignore the cosmetics, enjoy the scenaries, talk with friends and ect.. It's sad that tgc seems to don't care anynmore about their players and the game itself.
As a new but skilled player (Im in for half a month), I totally agree. And theres no way we can play without hacks nowadays. Candle prices (for IGC items) skyrocketed.
My biggest issue with Sky is the way they communicate the bugs. Not everyone has Discord or cares enough to join the official server. I've heard horror stories of some players getting photosensitive seizures due to in-game bugs, and guess what, none are communicated through THE in-game mail, why is it there if only for updates and events? They should show a little more tact and respect for their player's time.
They actually kicked me out 3 time rn simple because I didn't interact, which btw they want you phone number to verify you which I never let tbem have so I never was even allowed to chat on the server anyways.
Funny about the journey pack, The game (journey) itself cost A LOT LESS than the pack in sky. The whole game. It is so ridiculous. And it’s funny for sure, but also very sad that with every update they bring out, they bring out a whole bunch of new bugs as well. I don’t code myself, but I think it’s possible to… reduce the bugs at least and finalise your updates before bringing them out. They give us cool new stuff to cover up very prominent issues and complains the community has. THATS MY OPINION y’all, please don’t come at me 🙏 I love the game with all my heart regardless
It's an insult to compare Sky to Journey. They took one of the most beautifully spiritual experiences... Journey and made it a money making scheme. The literally sold Journey's soul for money.
When they "fixed" the shared memory camera bug, a lot of people in the Sky Discord were going "good riddance!" and complaining about how people kept using it to skip multi-person doors. Meanwhile I was staring down the Isle of Dawn candler runs that would now take more time (most of which is basically wasted flying over the expanse of Sand) and also that last candle cake in Vault, at the Very Tip Top. I loved that the camera exploit let me not have to spend time in the elevator cutscene and flying out to the nudibranch/manta (which often gets bugged and freezes behind the invisible wall, meaning we can't light the lanterns and carry on) only to wait in Another Cutscene (which gets bugged too! And you get stuck zooming in Forever until you exit the game and re-enter) And add to that, the camera bug let me get wing lights much faster in certain areas (Prairie Peaks. Have to flap my little wings all over creation for 3 lights)(and also the valley races. I Do Not like the races) But yeah. Sure. Some people were skipping the doors. Not like they can't go chibi and skip anyway. Not like shared spaces can skip too. Not like some people pass by the doors entirely rather than wait. Not like people who enjoy the scenic routes won't take them anyway. Screw anyone who wanted to save some time. And now they're threatening the autoburners at Grandma's? Pray tell _why_? Why is it so bad that players aren't forced to hop and chase after those bouncy wax balls that shoot across the room as soon as one pops? I go to Grandma's specifically to get wax and Vibe(play music, goof off with emotes), not to trip over strangers and struggle to burn the ball that got stuck under the table. By the time we've chased down and burned them all, the next set appears and we do it over again. That means we spend less time interacting, not more! We're not having more fun!
Theres another issue that not many have realized. I am an oob chibi falling expert (and sky therapist (laughing)) so ive explored almost every nook and cranny possible. Also have had help of hackers to get into areas that we're not allowed into. And slowly over the yrs i noticed an issue that i didnt think too much but seemed coincidence untilll we had the "bug" where if you do the wind tunnel trick and go home you could see the candles or what was once part of the old sky home i think it was that or the dragon. But either way that just made me realize that what i had thought wasnt much was entirely true and that is that they layer the game. They put more code on top of the code. essentially not really fixing the issue but very literally putting a patch of extra code. The issue is still there but with a bandaid. You can also see this with terrains that were changed but when u go oob you see the old terrain still there hidden. Nothing is really being fixed.

I updated my Sky last night. I was so hyped for the nest update having an easy access outside. Then it doesn't even allow me to visit the roof area. I thought that I'd no longer be confined in my cave and be able to enjoy the wind without walls around me. Unfortunately not the case. Now I felt this confusion of feelings of "Yeah, I can go outside now" and "I still feel caged and feels like I'm in prison". The "I love sky, but TGC is making it harder to" was a sentence that completely explained the feelings I was having while I was doing my dailies. Well half completed it since I just felt kinda... unmotivated.

Journey pack costs about a month's amount of travel fare for me. Granted I travel very short distances. To put it in better perspective, say in if bought in my currency, journey pack is about 1k+ and a day's minimum wage is about 67.31. I'd have to work about 22 hours or about 2.5 days to buy the cape (-sans daily expense food and other shit). I don't mind iaps and cool/cute cosmetics being iap's but if they made the prices STUDENT friendly I would probably buy all oth their shit😊
ALSO I noticed that most of the friends i find on sky are either college students or highschoolers. Almost all of the skykids i find are either unemployed, dependents or part-timers.

Basically, if you can afford it and it gives you joy to see it, then go for it. If they remove the props at grandma’s and at the doors, then I might move on. Desperate? No. Petty? Absolutely. They are being increasingly greedy. Anyone who cannot see that either hasn't been around long enough or is naive/an apologist. They've been making intentional changes to drag out the time it takes to collect the paltry 20 daily candles to increase play time for whatever their end game is there & to force purchases of candle packs. Which is also why they have priced things so high for both IGC & IAP.
The problem is not that people do not report anything, because they do. The worst thing is that bugs are reported in beta and they still reach the live version. The excuse is that they are a small team and there are too many platforms to attend. They blame hackers for the prices of in-game items. Items with candles and hearts. Which is not true. With the mass bans that have occurred, hackers are dead. There are still some, but very few. They just want you to buy candles. They also make the excuse that they created the tickets so that players could save candles. Anyway. The whole game is broken. Not because of the bugs, the whole farming system is broken. And they have been promising for years that they will fix it, but there has been no improvement.

I've had am idea that so many sky kids agred to me with... one of the buggest problems (as a veteran from the season of Enchantment) is having time to do all of this. I mean putting days of (insert random event here) in the middle of inbetween seasons makes grinding SO MUCH worse. I mean I WANT the days of music stuff but i just wasted my cabdles on one of the rarest traveling spirits. (To witch i purchased with real mobey cuz i was BROKE)... my idea was maybe to lesson seasons and the grind maybe make it that you have to buy a Season at a certain time BUT yiy couls complete it whenever (and as a veteran i have many season passes unfinished) id love to go bavk and get my ultimates and itd be the best give TGC could give me as a player. It'd also make me want to buy more season passes. What do you guys think?
Would you be willing to allow newer players to also get a chance to get ultimates?? If so, I agree with you, although I know a lot of older players don't want newer players to have access to old ultimates. The only way it would be possible for you to get the ultimates you missed (season reruns) would be to also make it available for newer players.
@greeniscoollol well I mean I'm not opposed to the idea of re-running ultimates but they should make it like how they reran owl hair. Sble to be distinguished and to be simular at the same time. Im not 100% what you meant at the end but i think if we did it that eay the ultimates would loose some of what makes them special

Thanks for the video as always! I quit playing sky after like two months so hearing people who kind of have been experiencing this for years is beyond me! I honestly think that TGC shot themselves in the foot with having the game be a free app game, thus prioritizing the micro transactions as their main source of income. BUT these items are purely cosmetic and add absolutely nothing to the gameplay itself which was already lacking (like in terms of traversing the realms). After you complete your first Eden run, what else is there to do but to wait on events that also prioritize cosmetics as rewards? The grind becomes tiring and every little "quality of life" that the players creatively utilize to bypass the arduous daily candle run is patched away by the devs without the devs finding a solution to people's criticisms. The overall concept of Sky is magical don't get me wrong and I enjoyed playing it when I did but when endgame is literally just getting the best cosmetics but the best cosmetics is behind a giant paywall, it doesn't feel very satisfying as a game. Since Sky has a younger playerbase, these prices can be predatory and create a divide against players who do have that spending power and those who are free to play. And game devs usually cater to those who are financially supporting their game, unfortunately.
While watching this video I just got a sky ad, "how to make friends in sky: Step one 1 put on your best outfit". AGHH proof that TGC knows how players judge each other and treats them differently and might refuse friendship with someone based on their outfit (even if they were having fun for hours emoting and roasting marshmallows together). This is definitely not specific, this definitely didn't happen to me today, this definitely did not make someone log off and start playing chess instead.

The Sky community literally just doesn’t see that we deserve better. Like, sure this is how the game is, but it can be better! Easily! Prices are atrocious, gameplay is basically nonexistent after Eden, this game is a machine where *you* the player are being processed. Seriously- we shouldn’t just be accepting this because “it’s a free to play game”. There is not a doubt in my mind that TGC makes plenty of money on season passes *alone*.
They should provide answers to those quality of life stuff they took. Introduce gadgets to increase speed, magnets of some sort for extremely scattered candles or to encourage group candle runs make it so if a friend with specific ability unlocked will make whatever wax one of them collect also count for the friend which will make it faster and more fun to cover a whole area and would be like a game of who’s faster which is one of my favorite!. For a really long time they haven’t done any real quality of life changes despite so many ppl complaining and some quitting for several weeks/months yearly cuz they just can’t handle it
That's a really good idea. Introducing mechanics to make candle running even slightly less tedious would probably solve the burnout that many players have because of the excessive pressure to buy stuff.
I don't even have a job to buy anything in this game. The only pass I ever had was gifted to me by a friend. Other than that, I even stopped buying the free items cuz I got no time to spend 5 hours a day farming when I also got school and my personal life going on smh
I used to use those camera-shared memories (apparently it's bannable? I never knew at the time, assumed they were created with warping) which allowed me more spare time to relax in sky and spend time with friends. That was the intention of the game, no? Now that it's no longer available I do my candle run, not even getting over 13 candles and clock off. This job is exhausting

TGC don't like when someone interfere with the game code. The game is bugy enough to add corruptions from hacks 🤔 About afk farming... Well, I think they want us to play the game, not afking it. But they forget about how time consuming the farm is. Players literally have no time to enjoy the game, communications and have fun. Skykids are always in the White Rabbit's "I'm late!" mode. This is not a healthy gaming. Especially because Sky, in a majority, is a flex-your-collection game, with a "like in real life" communication bit.

I think the shared memory things at Grandma’s ARE examples of healthy gaming!!! It’s the players using the tools given them to create a shared space in a creative way! We can get the cakes while playing someone’s piano or while having a dance party under stars and mantas above us. IT’S SUPER FUN and makes me more apt to go to the ancestors table. I’ve made several friends there while enjoying the props the shared memories bring. It’s a quieter few minutes of fun and rest in the middle of a frantic candle run. It’s a benefit to the game!!!! And removing them is coming real close to being the last straw. I can resist the FOMO and quit playing. If TGC doesn’t realize that, they are willful blind. How does it help the game to alienate the die hard players?? I am extremely upset by this decision by TGC… seriously thinking about quitting.

They are also people. So they know good what they're doing , many people report it everyday, but they are criticized in the general channels. What they are doing is no longer a mistake, it is a choice.
Unfortunately TGC has always been against changes that make crs easier, the nine colored deer candle nerf is proof of that. They don't want players going afk at grandmas or skipping 4 player doors. I'm genuinely convinced that chibifalls and skyrockets only exist because tgc doesn't know how to patch them out. Fun fact, there has only been 2 seasons this year that take place outside of the aviary (both collab seasons), and only one of those have spirits. Genuinely disappointing.
I read a FAQ with them answering a bunch of questions about the economy and there was a big focus on "we never meant for this to happen! 😢" when addressing people spending so much time on candle runs. They wanted there to be more of a social focus so they removed any potential for passive farming. It seemed like they put prices up to make players earn candles LONG TERM not grind short term. To that i say, EITHER STOP MAKING ITEMS SO TIME SENSITIVE, OR MAKE IT CHEAPER. YOU ARE CULTIVATING YOUR ENTIRE GAME ON FOMO, WHETHER ITS ON PURPOSE OR NOT. THE PRICES ARE FUCKING OUTRAGEOUS AND ITS TOO HARD FOR PLAYERS TO CATCH UP TO INFLATION.

I'm actually used to the fact that most of the gaming stuff is always expensive for me, considering the situation in my country. I just taught myself not to get distracted by the inability to buy things that cost real money. . . But when I saw prices in SKY. . . The game which is supposed to be about COMMUNICATION AND RELAXATION. Damn, I just. . . Wh- WHY WOULD YOU DO THAT? I can literally buy A WHOLE NEW GAME on Steam for the price of some NONEXISTENT OUTFIT. . . WHY?
Sky easily burns you out. The only thing you can actively do in the game is candle running, which is just the same thing over and over again and takes up a lot of energy. You can get around 20 candles a day with a lot of playing. The other only activities are interacting with people and playing instruments. There are not really any minigames that you can actually have fun with for long. So the games atmosphere and cosmetics clearly carry the entire game. So making it so hard to get candles quick, not letting you skip many cutscenes, restricting ways to get trough the game quicker in actions that require other people and making you wait years for cosmetics to come back makes you easily burnt out. Many sky quests aren’t actually fun, it‘s just „run to x place and press the interaction button“. A simple cape is expected to be at least 20$ and it even gets more expensive in other countries. Often they justified their prices by adding candles (even tho we clearly just want the cape) but nowadays they rarely even do this anymore. They actively make the most lame items free and everything else iap or season pass. And yeah obviously they need to get money but this happens every time. Bugs and issues that have been in the game for years get ignored. My wifi is completely fine but servers freak out the moment 8 people (max) are in it which shouldn’t happen. Dark plants may take multiple attempts to even burn at all. Doors take ages to open despite my candle clearly being on it. Yet bugs that actively benefit players get fixed much quicker. They need to get their priorities straight. The game is repetitive and overpriced aswell as hypocritical considering their entire theme is nature, friendship and social issues, even collabing with AURORA who has a song saying "you can not eat money if the rivers are poisoned". All I'm seeing at this point is operational greed with no care for the communities opinion.
The amount of friends who're younger and studying I've heard joke about being too broke to play and enjoy a FREE game is absurd. I get that micro transactions are vital for this game to stay alive, but they're just catering to whales with capes and relying on seasonal content all while treating their game as if its single player with a lot of social features so they don't have to listen to their communities criticism. It's patronising.
I joined Sky right before season of Abyss started. I didn't really notice that many changes at that time, mainly because as a new player I had focused on the main run and the quests for the longest time. That is until I discovered I had to do cr to get cosmetics. I've always just done Praire and sometimes also Forest runs, but I think nowadays it's just not enough. I've been using hacks for a while to get candles faster, but recently i got temporarily banned in Sky for that. I don't know for how long, because before discovering this message I took a long break from Sky (and I generally just stopped visiting that often anymore), but it was for over 8 days, maybe a month, idk. But afterwards, I stopped using hacks just for safety. Now I visit Sky even more rarely. In short, what started as an appreciation for the atmosphere and the main story got switched into an endless cycle of grinding and non-lore-related seasons. I used to join more often at that time just because I had friends there, but most of them left too. Out of everything TGC has announced so far, the only thing I'm actually looking forward to is the Two Embers animation project, which I don't even know the progress of, because I don't keep up with the updates in any of TGC's social media. If they won't lower the prices or at least make cr easier for us, I just want the initial joy back that I had in the game, where the lore and anything related with the Sky kingdom itself was the main focus instead of random collabs and expensive outfits that I outright stopped buying.
As much as I love to play Sky, I don't find the joy as I first started. Logging in the game just to do dailies and candle runs... I play games to take a break from my mundane daily life, why does the game need to do the same?? Even ppl from my friend constellation aren't even active anymore except those who still plays with friends. I just realised these past few years, I still play sky bcs I used to hv someone to play together, now I mainly go solo. I rarely even get server merged with full servers. NGL despite my current go to game is considered toxic but bcs I play with other ppl, it's not actually toxic and the toxicity came from solo players. Still missing my moff days 😔
Yes. Hi fellow hacker. We should be proud about it and tell everyone. I do magic candleruns with 2-6 friends every day. I help them all collect 20 candles and dailies in 1-1,5 hours instead of 3. Noone was banned or even got a warning in 3 months. Only my alt account which I run on is banned. Then u just make another alt account and continue. It works and Im proud of helping my friends.
Tbh as someone who had played Sky nonstop since July 2022, I dropped it cold turkey in August of 2024 and I have never felt more free. I still feel the urge to get on there because of FOMO, but then remember I don’t have candles and the motivation to get candles so I just leave it alone. I’m sort of just watching the dumpster fire from a distance now I suppose
My biggest complaint with sky is the heart and candle system, ive been playing for about a year and only have one Constellation fully done. I mean i do take breaks but only because of how quickly that game burns me out. It should not take me a full week of doing the daily light for me to get a set of wings. (Season of Aurora TS)
My friend often asks me to play with her. I say I don’t want to, that I don’t like sky, even though I have been playing for nearly four years and still do dailies, well, daily. Yeah, I don’t like sky. It’s too overwhelming sometimes, there’s a lot of problems. I don’t want to spend two hours every day grinding candles just for one cosmetic to rob me of everything. I used to love sky, used to actually put hours into the game every day, but I can’t anymore. I can’t stand this. So yeah, I don’t like sky. Not to mention how TWO YEARS AGO I remember the community already complaining about the communication issues and the prices. What have they done since then? Yeah, I guess they did eventually give compensation, but only if the entire game broke for a week, and even the compensation was less than what you can farm in a day. And the prices? Those have just gone up. They listen to us, only on things that matter just slightly. Light all friends button? Nah. Have dyed furniture instead. And the prices, the last mischief was diabolical. I saw a shift in the right direction recently tho. The days of music cape is igc! It’s such a cool cape, and it’s actually not an iap which is actually really cool. They’re also making some of the event items permanent, which is another move in the right direction. I hope this continues in the future, where they keep making actually cool items for igc.

I completely agree, but in a way i feel like they are trying to get the connection sky used to have back- theres always a ton of strangers not willing to help out anyone but them self or their friends these days. And im not saying this is everyone, but oh boy i see it and experience it ALL the time. Then again, even newer players, they dont know much about shared spaces or what not, so they wait on people to help them, which usually takes a million years because skys server system, SUCCSS RAAH. But other than the cash grab, that is the only other reason i see. So in conclusion, they MIGHT think, taking away shared space = more people helping eachother out *that are currently in the server with you*
I’m a very old player, I player for like 4 years old. I’m free to play and all the iap I have are gift. I’m on the Sky discord and at the beginning I WAS complaining about the TGC’s abuses. It work only once. It was for the cat hair, 2 years ago. I’m sorry but I’m tired complaining everytime TGC is doing sh*t. I don’t have the mental healt necessery for this. Now I just playing for messing with my friend, and sometimes, cr. Sky is supposed to be a video game, not a chore.
Ppl have been speculating the reason why shared space was removed from grandma is that it's similar to how afk wax was removed: ppl would afk at grandma table for hours wait for the wax time without candle running That's the only thing ppl have brought up that im not entirely convinced since grandma can only be done 3 times a day so who khows. Tgc haven't said anything regarding the decision and the removal has only been in beta so far Ig we could still bring our own fire props like the ol' times lol One thing ppl should also know is to not treat the feedback place as a complaint chat. When giving your feedback, try to write with your honest words, give a clear cut view and detail explanations. How feedback works is that one person (or a few) would manage and choose some of the feedback to send to the main devs. So also make sure it's not tldr
There’s a max limit to the amount of wax you could get at Grandma’s so there’s no point in removing shared spaces other than just making it harder for our cr’s. You can visit grannies around 2-3 times before her rice cakes pop without wax and that’s around 1,000 wax.
We can only get wax from grandma up to 2x and can't get more than 10 candles if I'm not mistaken, so to prevent afk farming is not an excuse to remove the player creation from there

Ppl do in fact afk there for a long time, but then idk why the afker and the ppl who used the afker as a reason doesn't take into account how grandma time is limited (should've mentioned that in my comment to clear confusion). Since we khow past helpful/convenient methods (and/or bugs) are removed with **at least** a proper explanation, when this time it's flat out unreasonable. The feature doesn't harm the gameplay that much, so what could possibly be the reason behind this? As this video has raised questions I was also thinking of: Why would they remove this feature when there're clearly more visual/gameplay bugs that needed to be address more than that? They're not the type of people who would do unreasonable stuff like that do they? Anyway, since this is still only a beta change, all you can do is feedback to them in hoping they can actually give the players what they actually wanted
Funny how the compliant was "felt lonely cause everyone is afk around the campfire :("... and afterwards no one, or barely anyone, hangs out around campfires now. Which imo is a more lonely sight, remembering how skykids used to doze around the fire and sometimes chat if a friend passes by and the player isnt busy
I've been playing Sky since it came out. I came back around the middle of this year and so much has changed. Like a lot of people has said, everything is so much more expensive and overpriced. And the cuter things are even more overpriced, or for a season pass or money in general! Sky is still fairly new but old enough for TGC to have already been working on fixing their horrid bugs and general issues! Sky shouldn't already be having its downfall, this is quite sad.
Just something I can add (maybe idk how valuable my opinion could possibly be) As terrible as their decisions are in regards to prices. Their studio and servers are in California where the price of living is basically impossible to keep up with so the iap prices start to make sense. But I don't know why their idea of getting players to buy iap is making candle running more and more difficult and time consuming if you're not willing to pay money.
I've been thinking this for a long time and I want to share: if they want us to play the game more they should add MINIGAMES. In each realm make an area with MINIGAMES, or scatter them around the whole realm. Do little competisions, like who can build a snowman faster, who can catch the most crabs, who can fly better through the obstical course, the minigame where all the players play a music sheet together with instruments provided by the game, do the singleplayer fishing, the gambling machine for god's sake, put actuall fair-like arcade games of something, do the minigames for friends and strangers to do together! AND GIVE WAX for beating them, even REPEATEDLY, so that players wouldn`t have to grind each time, and could actually enjoy some gameplay. I know they add minigames to the events sometimes, but they removing them every time, like whyyy
God, I remember this one time I played and that dreaded flashbang ahh bloom was gone. It actually made the game so much more playable. Like, genuinely, could see things and not have them blinding white in your face when you're in a dark room. And then it turns out it was a visual bug and they returned it 😭 I really hope TGC works on their act because yeah, "People who love sky, but TGC is making it hard to" is so real.
your humor is impeccable. i agree with all of this as someone who is addicted to this game but hates so much of it (lol). joined during Abyss and currently have been playing nearly everyday for a year straight. in the past 6 months i first saw friends leave because of rocket being nerfed so rip OOBs. now they are making candle running more and more miserable, so more friends are leaving the game or just being so much more inactive.

At this point, there are three groups of players in sky: group 1 being the players who are frustrated with TGC, group 2 being the so called "white knights" who keep defending everything TGC does and group 3 who don't care about either and are doing their own thing
I believe this is the case for all games nowdays. I play other games and cosmetics are also on the +$20 usd range. We all complain but at this point it feels like it's normal and it sucks..
I can't keep up with repetitive games. I fall out of things easily and FAST. Sky got so boring. Only run candles day after day for a handful of crazy expensive basic items. I don't spend money on games everything I have is so old cause I keep disappearing from the game. :(

The only reason to play this game most of the time was to candle run and I got REALLY tired of staring at doors for 30-60 minutes at some doors… so I gave up
I was on hiatus with sporadic booms of activity for a few days in Sky for, I guess, more than 1.5 years (btw I started playing in August, 2021) and recently deleted it. I love the OC that I created, I love the game, its lore and story, I love what it means to me, I appreciate everything that Sky:COTL brought me in terms of memories, people and many other things. But I found myself in a place where I couldn't afford cosmetics unless I do the same candle run every day and it took me at least an hour. It all felt not like a game anymore, but a job -- and with time, the small parts of free content became too dull for me and I didn't even want to spend candles and time on it. I love Sky and I didn't wanna quit at all, but I burnt out and I didn't enjoy it anymore. I felt like I HAD to play because it was a chore, not something I did for fun and for relaxation. I hope to return one day, although I'm shocked to hear in what way Sky continues to develop. I'll cherish my child of light that I created, but speaking of starting to play again for now... nah, sorry.
They banned my account one time because of some game issues and another one for no reason So now because of the second ban I'm permanently banned. I only was waiting for a friend to come back. The game really is messed up and the community is toxic and the items are expensive.
Tgc has made me switch to cr (breakout and kingdom) even with the gacha mechanics. At least they don’t really try to pretend they aren’t there for money. The lore is interesting and if you put money into the game (I don’t but) at least it actually gives you something useful in game
Oh my. SAMEE. Got into crk this year cs been wanting to try something else other than sky and so far the experience is pretty much ok. There are some times I don't play for weeks but the returning rewards makes you able to catch up with the latest updates. Unlike sky, if you don't work for it, you don't get it which is making the game tiring (I've been playing sky for 4 years already)

The removal of shared spaces at grammas and the features of memories that let us collect light easier is honestly a deal breaker for me, I'm disabled (mainly having trouble moving my whole arms because of the meds I have to take and everything I do feels like it has a 5 sec delay) so I can't candle run like everyone else, because of that I also don't have friends to help me with that. TGC was all about inclusivity etc. till it now isn't. Also the server issues are just straight up horrid, how did it go from communication errors to everyone rubberbanding, me falling under the ground when I go into another room and wax being collected but not ending up counting and disappearing??? Seriously?
I started sky in October and loved it at first. But everything pushes you to get cosmetics, so I joined a discord and did candle running. Until I realize that was all I was doing. I wasn’t play sky I was grinding for pieces of an outfit. I broke down sky pricing and it was insane and I stopped playing very quickly. It’s not a game that wants you to explore, relax, make friends. It wants you to grind endlessly and spend money.
Sky is so tiring at this point. Everything's so expensive, from seasons,to events, to IAPS, you have to grind at least 1 hour a day if you want to get a decent amount of candles, on top of that, if you want to spend time with your friends it might take longer. Everything's so repetitive, and it becomes monotonous after a while because there is no new way of collecting candles. We spend so much times at gates, especially at the 8 player gate in prairie, glitches arent fixed, unless its an afk or a glitch that offers you candles, they seem so focused to make candle grinding as boring and as long as possible. It is true that no one forces you to buy cosmetics, and it doesn't necessarily affect your gameplay, but i feel there is nuance to that. There are cosmetics in the game that can give you a different experience, for example, the cape that can get you to the office, or Aurora's and Little Prince's capes. The whole point of sky is not only to make friends, but it's a customization game, and having to pay so much effort into getting cosmetics, hinders other aspects and makes the game not enjoyable

They just removed shared spaces in grandma's area (earlier, removed some aspects of shared memories that made them useful). They are removing everything that keeps sky easily playable for me, as a person with a chronic illness, a busy day and an empty pocket. For the last few months I've seriously considered quitting. I'm not even an old player but I'm already burnt out. Sky has become a chore, not an escape. Just another job.
Another thing, I know f2p players might not be valuable to TGC, which is why they keep making everything IAP and all free things expensive, BUT even players who make purchases are getting burnt out. What is the point spending so much money on this game if you get nothing in return? And yes, TGC needs to make money bla bla but are we going to ignore the fact that since the beginning they've been making BANK while still having great items free? (Or at least pass) ANOTHER THING clearly the game can survive without everything being so expensive because the Chinese version has so many free/cheap items. Sure, the government might have some part in it but clearly it's possible. Some players have said that it's because china's economy is down or something...clearly if players show that they can't pay, changes are made. All ot takes is for IAP players to start boycotting or at least spending less. It's a sacrifice for them but I'm sure it would benefit everyone.

Bro, use hacks. U need two devices and two accounts. One is your main account logged in in regular Sky app, second one is your alt moth account opened in app called Canvas with mod Dukun Langit (for Android) or TSM (for PC) installed. Take your alt's hand and teleport on your main around wax places. It takes around 45-60 minutes to get 20 candles a day this way, if u r playing alone (and about 1,5 hours with friends cus they always disconnect and autoburn plants dont work if u r not alone at server). They wont ban your main account for this and most probably u wont even get a warning. Alt account will be banned in 2-3 months but u ll just make another one. Ive been playing like this for 3 months and didnt even get a warning for my main. I CR every day with 2-6 friends. Noone of us got warnings for hacks. Highly recommend. Stop playing "fairly" in a game which is cruel, overpriced and unfair by design. It is they who are cheating, not u. CR & dailies shouldnt take 3 hours every day, it is insane.

My biggest complaint about this game will always be the heart system. TGC isn't happy about people doing heart trades in order to farm hearts, yet they don't add easier ways to get hearts... My only way of completing any of the main constellations was gathering 7+ strangers, and heart trading with them every day. It took up ALL of my candles, and I had no room for saving up candles for traveling spirits or those expensive event items. It's crazy.
I know you said “was” but for future hearts if you ever need them..make an alt, bring it with you to candle run, let ppl add both u and ur alt , send them their heart from the alt and they send yours to ur main. This was how lots of ppl did it back then and i believe it still works easily
Hearts aren't even a valid currency anymore. Devs jut completely stopped using them since we have event tickets now and those were mainly for event items.
I heard many alts were taken down because of the heart trading. Probably cause some made a real profit out of it but well.. business is business.

Like the one of the Days of Sunlight capes which cost event tickets last year costs hearts this year or the Days of Style ballet shoes which costs hearts as well. Event items which cost tickets are on the year they are introduced and they eventually get turned into igc currency items next year.
@@migs192Using an alt to trade hearts to yourself is against ToS. However, trading to someone else with it and having them send a heart to you isn't. Or alternatively, just never say you use an alt to trade with yourself.

I love sky, i think it's a game with an incredible concept and ideas. I've spent countless hours playing and made many friends and memories along the way.
Despite that though, it's clear as day that the game itself has terrible quality control, and some of the IAPs are waay overpriced.
I love the game, I WANT to love the game, but tgc is making it more and more clear that they're beginning to not care about that anymore. I'm not gonna say the usual "tgc greedy" stuff that's been said over and over, I'm more concerned about the fact that tgc thinks that releasing an update with game breaking bugs that make certain features literally unplayable is a normal thing and doesn't need fixing.

I've talked about this to my friends SOOO many times already and it always feels like a job. Tgc are taking the community's generosity for granted that with every criticism the company gets, anyone in the community would start attacking that person despite the statement not even being far from the truth.
It feels like eversince tgc has been glorified over their 'hardwork' because they're a 'small company', They've been taking advantage of that. Not only that, Tgc never really listened to the demands of the community. They only DO listen if it's a game bug, But even that they relentlessly struggle with. It's pretty ironic for a 'small company' to not have the closer access to hear the demands and plea of the community when it should be their best advantage to have a closer bond to its users.

As a veteran, i play sky from more than 3 years, and tbh, it has changed. Prices are wayy to explansive, both the iaps, and the 'free' items, like, tf u mean that some hair costs 150 candles😭 (the alice hair event). At this point it's like tgc keeps sky alive just for money, for examples, now there are A LOT more collabs than before, it's not like i don't like em (for example, the season of little prince and AURORA were amazing), but, i feel like they're making them more often to get MORE money, and they are like.. Forgetting about the game itself, the lore for example, let's talk about the season of shattering, i waited for a lot for a season like that, darkness/light these things that probably were about the sky lore, but all the quest were the same and repetitive.
I miss the old sky. Now i came back to the game after basically quitting, just relaxing a bit, like, just ignore the cosmetics, enjoy the scenaries, talk with friends and ect.. It's sad that tgc seems to don't care anynmore about their players and the game itself.

My biggest issue with Sky is the way they communicate the bugs. Not everyone has Discord or cares enough to join the official server.
I've heard horror stories of some players getting photosensitive seizures due to in-game bugs, and guess what, none are communicated through THE in-game mail, why is it there if only for updates and events? They should show a little more tact and respect for their player's time.

When they "fixed" the shared memory camera bug, a lot of people in the Sky Discord were going "good riddance!" and complaining about how people kept using it to skip multi-person doors.
Meanwhile I was staring down the Isle of Dawn candler runs that would now take more time (most of which is basically wasted flying over the expanse of Sand) and also that last candle cake in Vault, at the Very Tip Top. I loved that the camera exploit let me not have to spend time in the elevator cutscene and flying out to the nudibranch/manta (which often gets bugged and freezes behind the invisible wall, meaning we can't light the lanterns and carry on) only to wait in Another Cutscene (which gets bugged too! And you get stuck zooming in Forever until you exit the game and re-enter)
And add to that, the camera bug let me get wing lights much faster in certain areas (Prairie Peaks. Have to flap my little wings all over creation for 3 lights)(and also the valley races. I Do Not like the races)
But yeah. Sure. Some people were skipping the doors. Not like they can't go chibi and skip anyway. Not like shared spaces can skip too. Not like some people pass by the doors entirely rather than wait. Not like people who enjoy the scenic routes won't take them anyway.

Why is it so bad that players aren't forced to hop and chase after those bouncy wax balls that shoot across the room as soon as one pops? I go to Grandma's specifically to get wax and Vibe(play music, goof off with emotes), not to trip over strangers and struggle to burn the ball that got stuck under the table. By the time we've chased down and burned them all, the next set appears and we do it over again. That means we spend less time interacting, not more! We're not having more fun!

Theres another issue that not many have realized. I am an oob chibi falling expert (and sky therapist (laughing)) so ive explored almost every nook and cranny possible. Also have had help of hackers to get into areas that we're not allowed into. And slowly over the yrs i noticed an issue that i didnt think too much but seemed coincidence untilll we had the "bug" where if you do the wind tunnel trick and go home you could see the candles or what was once part of the old sky home i think it was that or the dragon. But either way that just made me realize that what i had thought wasnt much was entirely true and that is that they layer the game. They put more code on top of the code. essentially not really fixing the issue but very literally putting a patch of extra code. The issue is still there but with a bandaid. You can also see this with terrains that were changed but when u go oob you see the old terrain still there hidden. Nothing is really being fixed.

I updated my Sky last night. I was so hyped for the nest update having an easy access outside. Then it doesn't even allow me to visit the roof area. I thought that I'd no longer be confined in my cave and be able to enjoy the wind without walls around me. Unfortunately not the case. Now I felt this confusion of feelings of "Yeah, I can go outside now" and "I still feel caged and feels like I'm in prison".
The "I love sky, but TGC is making it harder to" was a sentence that completely explained the feelings I was having while I was doing my dailies. Well half completed it since I just felt kinda... unmotivated.

Journey pack costs about a month's amount of travel fare for me. Granted I travel very short distances. To put it in better perspective, say in if bought in my currency, journey pack is about 1k+ and a day's minimum wage is about 67.31. I'd have to work about 22 hours or about 2.5 days to buy the cape (-sans daily expense food and other shit).
I don't mind iaps and cool/cute cosmetics being iap's but if they made the prices STUDENT friendly I would probably buy all oth their shit😊
ALSO I noticed that most of the friends i find on sky are either college students or highschoolers. Almost all of the skykids i find are either unemployed, dependents or part-timers.

Good job on the video. You’re right about everything. The thing about cosmetics, most players can’t see it so you’re really just buying it for yourself. Basically, if you can afford it and it gives you joy to see it, then go for it.

Desperate? No. Petty? Absolutely. They are being increasingly greedy. Anyone who cannot see that either hasn't been around long enough or is naive/an apologist. They've been making intentional changes to drag out the time it takes to collect the paltry 20 daily candles to increase play time for whatever their end game is there & to force purchases of candle packs. Which is also why they have priced things so high for both IGC & IAP.
The problem is not that people do not report anything, because they do. The worst thing is that bugs are reported in beta and they still reach the live version.
The excuse is that they are a small team and there are too many platforms to attend.
They blame hackers for the prices of in-game items. Items with candles and hearts. Which is not true. With the mass bans that have occurred, hackers are dead. There are still some, but very few. They just want you to buy candles. They also make the excuse that they created the tickets so that players could save candles.
Anyway. The whole game is broken. Not because of the bugs, the whole farming system is broken. And they have been promising for years that they will fix it, but there has been no improvement.

Guys, fellow hacker here. How to farm candles now: dont use autocandles. Instead teleport around. U need two devices and two accounts. One is your main account logged in in regular Sky app, second one is your alt moth account opened in app called Canvas with mod Dukun Langit (for Android) or TSM (for PC) installed. Take your alt's hand and teleport on your alt around wax places. It takes around 45-60 minutes to get 20 candles a day this way, if u r playing alone (and about 1,5 hours with friends cus they always disconnect and autoburn plants dont work if u r not alone at server). They wont ban your main account for this and most probably u wont even get a warning. Alt account will be banned in 2-3 months but u ll just make another one. Ive been playing like this for 3 months and didnt even get a warning for my main. I CR every day with 2-6 friends. Noone of us got warnings for hacks. Highly recommend. Stop playing "fairly" in a game which is cruel, overpriced and unfair by design. It is they who are cheating, not u. CR & dailies shouldnt take 3 hours every day, it is insane.

I've had am idea that so many sky kids agred to me with... one of the buggest problems (as a veteran from the season of Enchantment) is having time to do all of this. I mean putting days of (insert random event here) in the middle of inbetween seasons makes grinding SO MUCH worse. I mean I WANT the days of music stuff but i just wasted my cabdles on one of the rarest traveling spirits. (To witch i purchased with real mobey cuz i was BROKE)... my idea was maybe to lesson seasons and the grind maybe make it that you have to buy a Season at a certain time BUT yiy couls complete it whenever (and as a veteran i have many season passes unfinished) id love to go bavk and get my ultimates and itd be the best give TGC could give me as a player. It'd also make me want to buy more season passes. What do you guys think?
Would you be willing to allow newer players to also get a chance to get ultimates?? If so, I agree with you, although I know a lot of older players don't want newer players to have access to old ultimates. The only way it would be possible for you to get the ultimates you missed (season reruns) would be to also make it available for newer players.
@greeniscoollol well I mean I'm not opposed to the idea of re-running ultimates but they should make it like how they reran owl hair. Sble to be distinguished and to be simular at the same time. Im not 100% what you meant at the end but i think if we did it that eay the ultimates would loose some of what makes them special

I quit playing sky after like two months so hearing people who kind of have been experiencing this for years is beyond me! I honestly think that TGC shot themselves in the foot with having the game be a free app game, thus prioritizing the micro transactions as their main source of income. BUT these items are purely cosmetic and add absolutely nothing to the gameplay itself which was already lacking (like in terms of traversing the realms). After you complete your first Eden run, what else is there to do but to wait on events that also prioritize cosmetics as rewards? The grind becomes tiring and every little "quality of life" that the players creatively utilize to bypass the arduous daily candle run is patched away by the devs without the devs finding a solution to people's criticisms. The overall concept of Sky is magical don't get me wrong and I enjoyed playing it when I did but when endgame is literally just getting the best cosmetics but the best cosmetics is behind a giant paywall, it doesn't feel very satisfying as a game. Since Sky has a younger playerbase, these prices can be predatory and create a divide against players who do have that spending power and those who are free to play. And game devs usually cater to those who are financially supporting their game, unfortunately.

While watching this video I just got a sky ad, "how to make friends in sky: Step one 1 put on your best outfit". AGHH proof that TGC knows how players judge each other and treats them differently and might refuse friendship with someone based on their outfit (even if they were having fun for hours emoting and roasting marshmallows together).

The Sky community literally just doesn’t see that we deserve better. Like, sure this is how the game is, but it can be better! Easily! Prices are atrocious, gameplay is basically nonexistent after Eden, this game is a machine where *you* the player are being processed.
Seriously- we shouldn’t just be accepting this because “it’s a free to play game”. There is not a doubt in my mind that TGC makes plenty of money on season passes *alone*.
They should provide answers to those quality of life stuff they took. Introduce gadgets to increase speed, magnets of some sort for extremely scattered candles or to encourage group candle runs make it so if a friend with specific ability unlocked will make whatever wax one of them collect also count for the friend which will make it faster and more fun to cover a whole area and would be like a game of who’s faster which is one of my favorite!.
For a really long time they haven’t done any real quality of life changes despite so many ppl complaining and some quitting for several weeks/months yearly cuz they just can’t handle it
That's a really good idea. Introducing mechanics to make candle running even slightly less tedious would probably solve the burnout that many players have because of the excessive pressure to buy stuff.

I never knew at the time, assumed they were created with warping) which allowed me more spare time to relax in sky and spend time with friends. That was the intention of the game, no? Now that it's no longer available I do my candle run, not even getting over 13 candles and clock off. This job is exhausting

Those shared memory candels were not bugs. Yes, it was time saving. But they were hacks. Hackers created them to fast candle running. TGC don't like when someone interfere with the game code. The game is bugy enough to add corruptions from hacks 🤔
About afk farming... Well, I think they want us to play the game, not afking it. But they forget about how time consuming the farm is. Players literally have no time to enjoy the game, communications and have fun. Skykids are always in the White Rabbit's "I'm late!" mode. This is not a healthy gaming. Especially because Sky, in a majority, is a flex-your-collection game, with a "like in real life" communication bit.

I think the shared memory things at Grandma’s ARE examples of healthy gaming!!! It’s the players using the tools given them to create a shared space in a creative way! We can get the cakes while playing someone’s piano or while having a dance party under stars and mantas above us. IT’S SUPER FUN and makes me more apt to go to the ancestors table. I’ve made several friends there while enjoying the props the shared memories bring. It’s a quieter few minutes of fun and rest in the middle of a frantic candle run. It’s a benefit to the game!!!! And removing them is coming real close to being the last straw. I can resist the FOMO and quit playing. If TGC doesn’t realize that, they are willful blind. How does it help the game to alienate the die hard players?? I am extremely upset by this decision by TGC… seriously thinking about quitting.

They are also people. So they know good what they're doing , many people report it everyday, but they are criticized in the general channels. What they are doing is no longer a mistake, it is a choice.
Unfortunately TGC has always been against changes that make crs easier, the nine colored deer candle nerf is proof of that. They don't want players going afk at grandmas or skipping 4 player doors. I'm genuinely convinced that chibifalls and skyrockets only exist because tgc doesn't know how to patch them out.
Fun fact, there has only been 2 seasons this year that take place outside of the aviary (both collab seasons), and only one of those have spirits. Genuinely disappointing.
They tried fixing the rocket trick and only made everyone from the same server crash or/and the rocket user crash Lmao
I read a FAQ with them answering a bunch of questions about the economy and there was a big focus on "we never meant for this to happen! 😢" when addressing people spending so much time on candle runs. They wanted there to be more of a social focus so they removed any potential for passive farming. It seemed like they put prices up to make players earn candles LONG TERM not grind short term. To that i say, EITHER STOP MAKING ITEMS SO TIME SENSITIVE, OR MAKE IT CHEAPER. YOU ARE CULTIVATING YOUR ENTIRE GAME ON FOMO, WHETHER ITS ON PURPOSE OR NOT. THE PRICES ARE FUCKING OUTRAGEOUS AND ITS TOO HARD FOR PLAYERS TO CATCH UP TO INFLATION.

I just started playing again after a 1,5 year break and was so surprised that the SAME COMMON BUGS are still there even after all that time.
Sky easily burns you out. The only thing you can actively do in the game is candle running, which is just the same thing over and over again and takes up a lot of energy. You can get around 20 candles a day with a lot of playing. The other only activities are interacting with people and playing instruments. There are not really any minigames that you can actually have fun with for long. So the games atmosphere and cosmetics clearly carry the entire game. So making it so hard to get candles quick, not letting you skip many cutscenes, restricting ways to get trough the game quicker in actions that require other people and making you wait years for cosmetics to come back makes you easily burnt out. Many sky quests aren’t actually fun, it‘s just „run to x place and press the interaction button“. A simple cape is expected to be at least 20$ and it even gets more expensive in other countries. Often they justified their prices by adding candles (even tho we clearly just want the cape) but nowadays they rarely even do this anymore. They actively make the most lame items free and everything else iap or season pass. And yeah obviously they need to get money but this happens every time.
Bugs and issues that have been in the game for years get ignored. My wifi is completely fine but servers freak out the moment 8 people (max) are in it which shouldn’t happen. Dark plants may take multiple attempts to even burn at all. Doors take ages to open despite my candle clearly being on it. Yet bugs that actively benefit players get fixed much quicker. They need to get their priorities straight.
The game is repetitive and overpriced aswell as hypocritical considering their entire theme is nature, friendship and social issues, even collabing with AURORA who has a song saying "you can not eat money if the rivers are poisoned". All I'm seeing at this point is operational greed with no care for the communities opinion.
The amount of friends who're younger and studying I've heard joke about being too broke to play and enjoy a FREE game is absurd.
I get that micro transactions are vital for this game to stay alive, but they're just catering to whales with capes and relying on seasonal content all while treating their game as if its single player with a lot of social features so they don't have to listen to their communities criticism. It's patronising.
I joined Sky right before season of Abyss started. I didn't really notice that many changes at that time, mainly because as a new player I had focused on the main run and the quests for the longest time. That is until I discovered I had to do cr to get cosmetics. I've always just done Praire and sometimes also Forest runs, but I think nowadays it's just not enough. I've been using hacks for a while to get candles faster, but recently i got temporarily banned in Sky for that. I don't know for how long, because before discovering this message I took a long break from Sky (and I generally just stopped visiting that often anymore), but it was for over 8 days, maybe a month, idk. But afterwards, I stopped using hacks just for safety. Now I visit Sky even more rarely.
In short, what started as an appreciation for the atmosphere and the main story got switched into an endless cycle of grinding and non-lore-related seasons. I used to join more often at that time just because I had friends there, but most of them left too. Out of everything TGC has announced so far, the only thing I'm actually looking forward to is the Two Embers animation project, which I don't even know the progress of, because I don't keep up with the updates in any of TGC's social media. If they won't lower the prices or at least make cr easier for us, I just want the initial joy back that I had in the game, where the lore and anything related with the Sky kingdom itself was the main focus instead of random collabs and expensive outfits that I outright stopped buying.
As much as I love to play Sky, I don't find the joy as I first started. Logging in the game just to do dailies and candle runs... I play games to take a break from my mundane daily life, why does the game need to do the same?? Even ppl from my friend constellation aren't even active anymore except those who still plays with friends. I just realised these past few years, I still play sky bcs I used to hv someone to play together, now I mainly go solo. I rarely even get server merged with full servers. NGL despite my current go to game is considered toxic but bcs I play with other ppl, it's not actually toxic and the toxicity came from solo players.

Yes. Hi fellow hacker. We should be proud about it and tell everyone. I do magic candleruns with 2-6 friends every day. I help them all collect 20 candles and dailies in 1-1,5 hours instead of 3. Noone was banned or even got a warning in 3 months. Only my alt account which I run on is banned. Then u just make another alt account and continue. It works and Im proud of helping my friends.

Tbh as someone who had played Sky nonstop since July 2022, I dropped it cold turkey in August of 2024 and I have never felt more free. I still feel the urge to get on there because of FOMO, but then remember I don’t have candles and the motivation to get candles so I just leave it alone.

My biggest complaint with sky is the heart and candle system, ive been playing for about a year and only have one Constellation fully done. I mean i do take breaks but only because of how quickly that game burns me out. It should not take me a full week of doing the daily light for me to get a set of wings. (Season of Aurora TS)
My friend often asks me to play with her. I say I don’t want to, that I don’t like sky, even though I have been playing for nearly four years and still do dailies, well, daily. Yeah, I don’t like sky. It’s too overwhelming sometimes, there’s a lot of problems. I don’t want to spend two hours every day grinding candles just for one cosmetic to rob me of everything. I used to love sky, used to actually put hours into the game every day, but I can’t anymore. I can’t stand this. So yeah, I don’t like sky.
Not to mention how TWO YEARS AGO I remember the community already complaining about the communication issues and the prices. What have they done since then? Yeah, I guess they did eventually give compensation, but only if the entire game broke for a week, and even the compensation was less than what you can farm in a day. And the prices? Those have just gone up. They listen to us, only on things that matter just slightly. Light all friends button? Nah. Have dyed furniture instead. And the prices, the last mischief was diabolical. Like I’m still not over that tbh

I completely agree, but in a way i feel like they are trying to get the connection sky used to have back- theres always a ton of strangers not willing to help out anyone but them self or their friends these days. And im not saying this is everyone, but oh boy i see it and experience it ALL the time. Then again, even newer players, they dont know much about shared spaces or what not, so they wait on people to help them, which usually takes a million years because skys server system, SUCCSS RAAH. But other than the cash grab, that is the only other reason i see. So in conclusion, they MIGHT think, taking away shared space = more people helping eachother out *that are currently in the server with you*

I’m on the Sky discord and at the beginning I WAS complaining about the TGC’s abuses. It work only once. It was for the cat hair, 2 years ago. I’m sorry but I’m tired complaining everytime TGC is doing sh*t. I don’t have the mental healt necessery for this. Now I just playing for messing with my friend, and sometimes, cr. Sky is supposed to be a video game, not a chore.
Ppl have been speculating the reason why shared space was removed from grandma is that it's similar to how afk wax was removed: ppl would afk at grandma table for hours wait for the wax time without candle running
That's the only thing ppl have brought up that im not entirely convinced since grandma can only be done 3 times a day so who khows. Tgc haven't said anything regarding the decision and the removal has only been in beta so far

One thing ppl should also know is to not treat the feedback place as a complaint chat. When giving your feedback, try to write with your honest words, give a clear cut view and detail explanations. How feedback works is that one person (or a few) would manage and choose some of the feedback to send to the main devs. So also make sure it's not tldr
There’s a max limit to the amount of wax you could get at Grandma’s so there’s no point in removing shared spaces other than just making it harder for our cr’s. You can visit grannies around 2-3 times before her rice cakes pop without wax and that’s around 1,000 wax.
We can only get wax from grandma up to 2x and can't get more than 10 candles if I'm not mistaken, so to prevent afk farming is not an excuse to remove the player creation from there

@@someone2447 The sky folks who brought up the reason aren't necessarily defending, they were actually pretty mild abt the decision. Ppl do in fact afk there for a long time, but then idk why the afker and the ppl who used the afker as a reason doesn't take into account how grandma time is limited (should've mentioned that in my comment to clear confusion). Since we khow past helpful/convenient methods (and/or bugs) are removed with **at least** a proper explanation, when this time it's flat out unreasonable. The feature doesn't harm the gameplay that much, so what could possibly be the reason behind this? As this video has raised questions I was also thinking of: Why would they remove this feature when there're clearly more visual/gameplay bugs that needed to be address more than that? They're not the type of people who would do unreasonable stuff like that do they?
Anyway, since this is still only a beta change, all you can do is feedback to them in hoping they can actually give the players what they actually wanted
Funny how the compliant was "felt lonely cause everyone is afk around the campfire :("... and afterwards no one, or barely anyone, hangs out around campfires now. Which imo is a more lonely sight, remembering how skykids used to doze around the fire and sometimes chat if a friend passes by and the player isnt busy

I've been playing Sky since it came out. I came back around the middle of this year and so much has changed. Like a lot of people has said, everything is so much more expensive and overpriced. And the cuter things are even more overpriced, or for a season pass or money in general! Sky is still fairly new but old enough for TGC to have already been working on fixing their horrid bugs and general issues! Sky shouldn't already be having its downfall, this is quite sad.
Sky making me want to throw my technology out the window is something nothing else has managed to do.

Just something I can add (maybe idk how valuable my opinion could possibly be) As terrible as their decisions are in regards to prices. Their studio and servers are in California where the price of living is basically impossible to keep up with so the iap prices start to make sense. But I don't know why their idea of getting players to buy iap is making candle running more and more difficult and time consuming if you're not willing to pay money.
I've been thinking this for a long time and I want to share: if they want us to play the game more they should add MINIGAMES. In each realm make an area with MINIGAMES, or scatter them around the whole realm. Do little competisions, like who can build a snowman faster, who can catch the most crabs, who can fly better through the obstical course, the minigame where all the players play a music sheet together with instruments provided by the game, do the singleplayer fishing, the gambling machine for god's sake, put actuall fair-like arcade games of something, do the minigames for friends and strangers to do together! AND GIVE WAX for beating them, even REPEATEDLY, so that players wouldn`t have to grind each time, and could actually enjoy some gameplay. I know they add minigames to the events sometimes, but they removing them every time, like whyyy
God, I remember this one time I played and that dreaded flashbang ahh bloom was gone. It actually made the game so much more playable. Like, genuinely, could see things and not have them blinding white in your face when you're in a dark room. And then it turns out it was a visual bug and they returned it 😭
I really hope TGC works on their act because yeah, "People who love sky, but TGC is making it hard to" is so real.
your humor is impeccable. i agree with all of this as someone who is addicted to this game but hates so much of it (lol). joined during Abyss and currently have been playing nearly everyday for a year straight. in the past 6 months i first saw friends leave because of rocket being nerfed so rip OOBs. now they are making candle running more and more miserable, so more friends are leaving the game or just being so much more inactive.

At this point, there are three groups of players in sky: group 1 being the players who are frustrated with TGC, group 2 being the so called "white knights" who keep defending everything TGC does and group 3 who don't care about either and are doing their own thing
Ngl, I was getting tired of talking to Group 2 and sometimes even 3 since it really just felt like I was talking to a brick wall....
I feel like it's a matter of time until I slowly shift to group 3 and give up on the game completely

TGC is literally making the game worse on purpose in the hope that this will help sales

I believe this is the case for all games nowdays.
I play other games and cosmetics are also on the +$20 usd range. We all complain but at this point it feels like it's normal and it sucks..
So it means sky is just like any other game now

I can't keep up with repetitive games. I fall out of things easily and FAST. Sky got so boring. Only run candles day after day for a handful of crazy expensive basic items. I don't spend money on games everything I have is so old cause I keep disappearing from the game. :(
I heard the pricing thing become expensive because tgc's contract to sony about journey ended so they literally rely on sky for the money these days, regardless, the prices are still ridiculous

The only reason to play this game most of the time was to candle run and I got REALLY tired of staring at doors for 30-60 minutes at some doors… so I gave up
I was on hiatus with sporadic booms of activity for a few days in Sky for, I guess, more than 1.5 years (btw I started playing in August, 2021) and recently deleted it. I love the OC that I created, I love the game, its lore and story, I love what it means to me, I appreciate everything that Sky:COTL brought me in terms of memories, people and many other things. But I found myself in a place where I couldn't afford cosmetics unless I do the same candle run every day and it took me at least an hour. It all felt not like a game anymore, but a job -- and with time, the small parts of free content became too dull for me and I didn't even want to spend candles and time on it. I love Sky and I didn't wanna quit at all, but I burnt out and I didn't enjoy it anymore. I felt like I HAD to play because it was a chore, not something I did for fun and for relaxation. I hope to return one day, although I'm shocked to hear in what way Sky continues to develop. I'll cherish my child of light that I created, but speaking of starting to play again for now... nah, sorry.

They banned my account one time because of some game issues and another one for no reason
So now because of the second ban I'm permanently banned.
I only was waiting for a friend to come back.
The game really is messed up and the community is toxic and the items are expensive.
Tgc has made me switch to cr (breakout and kingdom) even with the gacha mechanics. At least they don’t really try to pretend they aren’t there for money. The lore is interesting and if you put money into the game (I don’t but) at least it actually gives you something useful in game
Oh my. SAMEE. Got into crk this year cs been wanting to try something else other than sky and so far the experience is pretty much ok. There are some times I don't play for weeks but the returning rewards makes you able to catch up with the latest updates. Unlike sky, if you don't work for it, you don't get it which is making the game tiring (I've been playing sky for 4 years already)

TGC should be making a note of the use of camera memories, shared space furniture clipping, and chibi clipping to add what the game really needs:

The removal of shared spaces at grammas and the features of memories that let us collect light easier is honestly a deal breaker for me, I'm disabled (mainly having trouble moving my whole arms because of the meds I have to take and everything I do feels like it has a 5 sec delay) so I can't candle run like everyone else, because of that I also don't have friends to help me with that. TGC was all about inclusivity etc. till it now isn't.
Also the server issues are just straight up horrid, how did it go from communication errors to everyone rubberbanding, me falling under the ground when I go into another room and wax being collected but not ending up counting and disappearing??? Seriously?

I started sky in October and loved it at first. But everything pushes you to get cosmetics, so I joined a discord and did candle running. Until I realize that was all I was doing. I wasn’t play sky I was grinding for pieces of an outfit. I broke down sky pricing and it was insane and I stopped playing very quickly. It’s not a game that wants you to explore, relax, make friends. It wants you to grind endlessly and spend money.
Sky is so tiring at this point. Everything's so expensive, from seasons,to events, to IAPS, you have to grind at least 1 hour a day if you want to get a decent amount of candles, on top of that, if you want to spend time with your friends it might take longer. Everything's so repetitive, and it becomes monotonous after a while because there is no new way of collecting candles. We spend so much times at gates, especially at the 8 player gate in prairie, glitches arent fixed, unless its an afk or a glitch that offers you candles, they seem so focused to make candle grinding as boring and as long as possible.
It is true that no one forces you to buy cosmetics, and it doesn't necessarily affect your gameplay, but i feel there is nuance to that. There are cosmetics in the game that can give you a different experience, for example, the cape that can get you to the office, or Aurora's and Little Prince's capes. The whole point of sky is not only to make friends, but it's a customization game, and having to pay so much effort into getting cosmetics, hinders other aspects and makes the game not enjoyable
