    how long did you use it for? i've heard people had some problems after a short while with these

    • @TaeKeyboards
      @TaeKeyboards  7 ปีที่แล้ว +13

      Yeh that's what's happened to a few people. Unfortunately I cannot test longevity, and will now mention that in every video as a disclaimer.
      I did have registry issues with my 'T' key, but by pressing it down firmly, it was fixed. So I didn't think much of it.

      most the reports coming from amazon, people have some keys failing,
      input lag, led dim/fail...maybe about 30% of reviews saying things like
      this

    Duude, I turn off my adblock when I'm watching your videos xDD Not saying you should thank me of course, just want you to know how much some random dude appreciates your work. You make such awesome, highly detailed and quality reviews, with info that only the owner would know, and not just by reading the description page on amazon, which is a gem for people like people, who research the shit out of stuff before buying.
    I was looking for a kb with effects like "single key reactive mode" as you said, but couldn't really google that you know. Had a big smile when saw it in your video, so thanks a lot. You have quite a few awesome keyboards on your channel, so definitely watching them before deciding. So for whatever's time, appreciate your work, and take care.

    How man just want to say I'm loving your channel! I'm now addicted into keyboards with my favourite switch type being cherry mx red as it's silent and has no tactile bump. I've been watching your videos for a while and you should keep it up. I've only got 2 mechanical keyboards which are: apex m500 razer black widow x chroma te and I'm about to order one of the cooler master keyboards. Hope the channels grows!

    It looks great. I've seen double-shot keycaps that don't have gaps in the letters; I hope that becomes the norm. Do you think the floating key design adds to the noise?
    I'd like to try clears or zealios purples.

    Hey Tae, I had an idea which I wanted your input on!
    I love the CM Masterkeys Pro S and the Ducky One TKL Shine. I do not however love the amount of light the keycaps lets through, so I had an idea:
    Paint the inside of the keycaps with silver spraypaint! That way the light from the led's get reflected back to the white backplate of the keyboard and make the "aura" effekt of the keyboards more prominent. Before I try this however I wanted your thoughts on this idea!
    Have a great one mate, love the vids!

    • @TaeKeyboards
      @TaeKeyboards  7 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      oo, that's interesting. I mean it makes sense, since it's commonly done with real lights. I just might have to try this out as well! Might go with chrome though. Let me know how it goes if you do it :)

    Good review as usual mate. Have you seen the Drevo Excalibur 75%? It looks somewhat like a mixture of the Drevo Gramr and the Ajazz AK33 with a metal shell, I think it looks quite interesting.

    • @TaeKeyboards
      @TaeKeyboards  7 ปีที่แล้ว +5

      Yep I saw that on their website. Besides the keycaps, it's looking pretty sweet, especially that metal bottom which the Ajazz AK33 doesn't have. I'm gonna have to check it out.

    I bought this as my first mechanical keyboard. Still works perfectly 4 years later. The only issue is that the paint in front of the space bar has begun to peel. Other than that, still performs perfectly but yes, it is on the louder side when typing.

    I have bought the keyboard few days ago, so here's my review for it.
    1. My left shift started not to register after using it for 2days, but started to work nicely again after using it more.
    2. Kinda hard to understand how the leds works, unless you're watching a video like this
    3. The keyboard itself is really nice good for a budget
    4. Don't forget that there might be a fee in your country (I didn't checked it before so I got 25+ extra fee)
    5. Packaging very nice saftley packaged.
    6. In my box there wasn't a key tool remover they might have removed them

    I recently just got this keyboard but I find the resistance provided by the outemu red switches to be more than I would like. Would I be able to change out the springs without worrying about the leds just by popping the switches off? Havent ever tried anything liie that and would love to find out.

  • @ThisIsDhruven
    @ThisIsDhruven 6 ปีที่แล้ว

    Thank you for your video.
    I wanted to understand why Drevo has Alt, Fn, Menu, Ctrl instead of Alt, Win, Fn, Ctrl? I see a lot of manufacturers are opting for the former.
    I also see Ducky, Code (WASD), Das, iKBC go with the latter though.
    What I wanted to understand was, is it possible to remap the former layout with the latter? I really like new Durgod TKL but AFAIK, you can't remap FN key.
    Is there any solution to this problem through Software?

    @7:01 I'd say about 70 bucks is a sweat spot for mechanical keyboards. That's where all the clearance sale and surplus stock Cherry MX keyboards are sold. Just take Rosewill or Cooler Master keyboards as an example. You can even get it cheaper if you are lucky.

    I heard a distinct echo when bottoming out, an echo I aslo hear within my Motospeed CK104. I suspect that the plastic/aluminium combination is the culprit. It makes it so loud, especially for linear switches. On my blues, I don't really mind because that was what I went for.

    Would you recommend gateron linears over any other switch brand? Really want to try linears out sometime, and I've tested the cherry reds and blacks on a tester kit and am really disappointed with the scratchiness. :/

    • @TaeKeyboards
      @TaeKeyboards  7 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Absolutely, like many others. For the most part Gateron's are smoother, and in my experience this completely holds true. However there are also instances of SOME batches not being as smooth.
      But yep, anything is smoother than Cherry MX linears tbh.

    • @TaeKeyboards
      @TaeKeyboards  7 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Yeh for stock switches Matias are smoooth. I've got a bag of Matias switches, so I'm hoping to do a Matias build soon.

    • @tehdeadmouse
      @tehdeadmouse 7 ปีที่แล้ว

      The only reason i wouldn't want to go with matias even tho i believe they can be some really good switches, is that a lot of keycaps are only cherry stem compatible and that restricts you to a lot of things. :\

      Hmm, looks to be longevity issues. I had no such problems, but it's only from a limited time frame.
      I did have the registry issue with my 'T' key which I didn't mention, because I easily fixed it by heavily pressing down the keycap, and didn't think much of it.
      I should now remember to mention that I cannot comment on longevity, because of obvious reasons.
