      The elite version seems to be another great options for those who look forward to swap their switches in the future, as the elite have gateron/kailh hotswap board. After some searching i found that outemu hotswap board pretty much only accept outemu switches, you need to do a bit of modification on other switches to make it fit into outemu board because of the smaller hole for the pins.

    • @Boyetto-san
      @Boyetto-san 5 ปีที่แล้ว +21

      @@gabrielcaesar4684 Corsair and other big-name gaming branded keyboards are all overpriced. They'd have you think that you're getting overall better quality from them, but the moment you hold one of these budget mechs, you'll realize that it doesn't cost much at all to get the same level of build quality, and how much you're really just paying for the brand name. Pretty much all budget mechs these days also come with double shot keycaps where the lettering will never fade, instead of the cheap shit lasered caps found on mainstream keyboards where the lettering will wear away from use. The only features you'd be missing out from Corsair is with the software customization, but the built-in RGB functions on these budget mechanicals cover all the bases just fine.
      Cherry MX switches are also just marketing hype at this point because the Chinese clone manufacturers have caught up and are far more innovative than Cherry these days. Enthusiast communities have all basically accepted that certain clones are just as legit as Cherries. Outemus, I'd say, are pretty much completely identical to Cherries, and many Outemu keyboards (like the Tecware) have hot-swappable switches that let you mix-and-match other Outemu switches, while Cherry have absolutely no response to this trend.

    This is a great review. I just got mine last week and have been using it since! FREAKING LOVE THIS THING, got it for even cheaper on a sale for about 65$ AUD on amazon with the red switches, the packaging looked amazing, included tools and switches were great except one of the pins on a switch was bent (fixed it by bending it slowly back into place with just my fingers), everyone complained about the software but I honestly didn't have any problem with it and actually kind of like the UI, it looked very simple and I knew exactly how to use it straight away. My only problem is the keys wiggle around a little, probably because the switches don't have a square shape to keep the keys steady, that's my main problem but I could get by perfectly fine. People also complained about the 'pinging' sound that would occur when a key was pushed, I had no clue what that would sound like but I quickly figured it out when I picked the keyboard up and tried to use it, I couldn't notice anything if the keyboard was sitting flat without the risers. It took maybe 1 week to get used to after switching from a cheap membrane keyboard. It does catch a bit of dust in between keys but it's really easy to get out with a soft brush. Going to recommend it to my friend who has a gaming laptop. Definitely worth the price, seems like it's going to last at least a year before breaking on me but I'm going to take care of it very well.
    Update: forgot to mention that the keys wiggle a LOT, it bothers me but I'm getting a little used to it. Also my 'F' key isn't working properly, might already have to use a new switch but I'm still working on it.

      @@CakeOfSomething Hi! Nope, keys went back to working, didn't even have to replace the switch. I went to replace them but I couldn't figure out how, the swtiches were VERY difficult to take out so I didn't bother. I guess that there was just some dust or something because after using it more of the keys often it works perfectly. The key wobble doesn't bother me anymore and I still love the sound from it! 10/10 value for money.

On Amazon right now, look for "Pawhits RGB mechanical keyboard" and you will find, for no more than TWENTY DOLLARS, yes I am serious, an RGB mechanical keyboard that can be bought full size or tenkeyless, with actual RGB, not "rainbow" (the RGB is not as smooth as this though, but nonetheless), and get this: it also has hotswappable switches. You might want to swap the ones that come with it, they're "Jixian" Blues, so I can't vouch for them. No problems so far though. Yes indeed, ladies and gentlemen. TWENTY DOLLARS.
