Thanks for putting this together! Your videos always have great quality! I heard about this Drama CD awhile ago and am glad I get to watch/listen to it now =)
Nice. I remember scouring everywhere for this when 1 first played Sen 1. And then we finally get to see the real location in game in Sen 2. Falcom really knows how to make it exciting for its fans.
Just finished watching this, while I wish that this was part of the game still, you did an excellent job of editing this video. I really enjoyed it, thank you again for taking the time to make this all those years ago.
Thank you for this. Just finished chapter 6 and continuing to ge final chapter after watching this. I'm surprised rhey skipped his one out of the game.
Thank you bro this is literally amazing, I wish the game had subtitles like these in battle it just makes it so much more immersive. The battle scene was so well made I can see the effort you put into it
I can't say I'd love that XSeed put this with an edition of the game.... But I already know in advance how some Japanese companies are with respect to products destined exclusively for Japan so 🤷🏽 nothing to do with it. I'm glad there's still good people outside like yourself. Thank you!
This was really charming - in a way it makes me miss the first 5 games, which thanks to EVO - have so much more voice acting than Cold Steel and even Daybreak. It adds so much life to have this much voice acting in a consistent span.
Thanks so much, this is great. All I'm wondering is why is all of this locked in a drama CD rather than in the game? This is significant character development for the main protagonist that's totally missable if you don't go looking for it!
Wow i'm playing all trails games (that have became by far my favorite games, and i played a shitloads of JRPGs so that's saying something) and i just got to final chapter of cold steel 1, i'v heard that i had to watch this before doing final chapter. I tought it would be some fun and relatively unimportant stuff like the festival preparation talk and the bath scene, but i'm very surprised to see important Rean backstory and freaking BleuBlanc namedropping "enforcers". Why the hell is it not in the game?! There must be some BTS lore or something cause that seems so important to not be mandatory stuff. Anyway thanks a lot for the video
They relegated this to the drama CD because of time constraints. The whole memoir chapter of the game was originally intended to be Chapter 7. Ymir is actually in the CS1 game files, just inaccessible through gameplay.
Well made! Kinda sad XSeed didn't make a dubbed version of this but it was enjoyable nonetheless and something i really wish we could've played through in game, still gives a lot of much needed context and information to certain things so thank you for making this, hats off to you!
I too was actually wondering that as well. George should be there too since he was involved in the Roer events as well. Crow was mentioned by the Ymir's barkeep in Trails of Cold Steel II.
I wonder if its to keep some spoilers for those who bought the CD with the game and decided to watch the CD first before playing the game, but then I think they still should be there because no one in their right mind would watch a CD full of spoilers without playing the game first
Right at the beginning someone (I think Rean himself) says that not everyone that was invited could make it to Ymir and then when they start talking about the festival Elliot says... "Crow said he's fine with just me and Read handling the actual announcement" ...suggesting that he isn't there. That being the case, Millium and George probably didn't make it to Ymir too, that's why they never say anything.
@@panpan1287 to be fair, Rean is way more conscious about the girls around him than Lloyd, the biggest exception really being Elise who is his sister, so it's okay for him to be dense towards her feelings... It would make their relationship a lot more complicated if he wasn't. Also, Kevin isn't dense lol
Had this been in the main game. It would’ve push cold steel 1 to 10/10. It felt off when it went to the last chapter. Felt like I was missing the class bonding to a true family with the Ymir.
Who did the subs for this? xD At one point, when talking to Angelica, the subs have ' Oh?' as all that's said, but he says about 15 words, then a bit later he says ' Sempai?' and the text is like ' and..and you think that should be me?'
Feels like Fie's voice in English and Japanese is so different that the Japanese feels more like an emotionless Fie while the English is more of a sarcastic Fie.
I liked both since I have just recently replayed the game in both English and Japanese dub after watching this. Although I do indeed prefer some characters in their English voice like Sara, Laura, and Fie, while I like others better in Japanese like Alisa, Emma, and Elliot
Oh sweet, thanks for this one! Any chance you might be able to do the same for the second Cold Steel transcript? I can't for the life of me find a video with the audio for second drama CD and given... certain things in the later games I thought it'd be nice to hear before Cold Steel III and IV show up ;)
@@PafdingoTrails Best of luck, believe me I've tried searching for it with no luck so far. I speculate you may have better luck looking for its Japanese name quite honestly at this point, but I guess we'll see...
Most idiotic decision to cut that out of the game. It looks like - don't give a shit about the main character and his character building. So why the fuck should I care about it? It's no surprise that this is the part that started the problems with the series in general. Thanks for the video.
It is what takes place in greater detail after the 6th Chapter in Trails of Cold Steel I. The core game itself only briefly mentions what takes place as a quick sum-up at the beginning of the final chapter. Apparently this is a "drama CD" that was only really sold to a Japanese audience. The drama CD has no English dub as it would seem the efforts to localize the Cold Steel Erebonia arc of the series have only begun recently. The Zero Crossbell arc only just got announced with a Western audience in mind, which ironically enough is chronologically before the events in Cold Steel. The rate by which the Trails series has been releasing in the states has seemed a bit daunting to keep up with
@@chapter_black3234 Now how would this be? I come across your response just after I finish my first new game+ of Cold Steel I along with finding out about this drama CD in CS II soon after.

Elliot and music: a deadly duo.

@Mizuhim3 replaying in fresh Nightmare run and full bonding point is fun. Don't tell me you didn't do that.
@Mizuhim3 You do realized you are comparing Azure and CS1 which is basically a concluded part with a introductory part.
@Mizuhim3 Yeah, but do you even Nightmare? I'm not shilling CS1 but the way you are making comparison like a kid, its like you hate CS1 lmao
