  • Happy Pride, friends! It's time for our annual Pride episode and this year, our amazing friend Topher is joining us to talk about rainbow representation in our fave QL shows! Inspired by author A.K. Mulford on TikTok, we'll be taking a look at the different types of LGBTQ+ representation we see in BL, GL and queer media & sharing some of our favorite characters who represent that identity or who we head canon as falling into that identity.
Be sure to share shows and characters that fit your rainbow representation in the comments below~

Omg when Kayla said Nott from Playboyy it really clicked for me too lol! Furthering the aesthetic of it, even the way *they* would sit with their legs crossed, leaning forward, holding the cigarette in such a specific and elegant hand 🫴💁 while analysing and/or judging/cutting up those around them. Like the non-binary tea is so valid.
Also for gay (basic ik😂) I wanted to shout out Tutor from Why R U because I had a similar experience. Dating a woman because it's what's expected and what your family wants, but having these undeniable urges and attraction. And how when you're caught in that you can hurt the woman you love platonically because of your own repressed feelings. That series will always have a place in my heart, FighterTutor forever 🙂‍↕️

Knock Knock Boys, so far has been an underappreciated gem. I think because it's not from one of the major bl companies, people expected it to be superficial with bad writing, acting, and editing, but so far it's been amazing. I love the depth of characters and how real it can be while staying halarious. Latte is my sweet baby bean and I love him (not a fan of his love interest, though...)

Max from Be My Favorite was a great side character. He was an openly queer person, an activist at his college, and a good friend. He was confident and encouraging when giving advice to Pisaeng and Kawi. However I also liked how he was not perfect. Sometimes these characters can become a fairy godmother who swoops in to solve everything, yet Max made mistakes. Sometimes he pushed his friends into things before his friends were ready for that step. He recognized his journey was not everyone else's, and he apologized after he understood his means, no matter how well intended, were not right at that moment with his friends. Aou's portrayal was energetic and sympathetic, and I think Max is a great example of how to make this kind of supporting character.

Loved this episode! I wanted to recommend some characters. I've been watching this J-drama called Kawareta Otoko and in episode 8, it includes a storyline with a trans character. The drama is basically about 3 male sex workers and there diffrent clients so ep. 8 includes a trans character and it's a really beautiful depiction of acceptance and being able to find love! I hope more ppl can watch it!
Also for Ace / aroromantic I always thought the couple in Mr. Unlucky gave me those vibes 👀

Hey guys i had an idea and really wanted to know your opinions on this! So i was thinking if someone wanted to watch a BL according to their love language what would they watch. For example for me its
    Physical Touch: 8th Sense
    Words of Affirmation: Blueming
Acts of Service: My School President
    Gift Giving: Last Twilight
    Quality Time: We Are
Imo they have alot of rep of their respective love language.
I just thought this might make a fun discussion. Happy Pride 🏳️‍🌈 also great videooooooooooo

Happy Pride and thank you for watching! Funnily enough, our romantic moments for Valentine’s Day EP that we did this year was focused around the love languages so that sounds like exactly the discussion you might be looking for! Love your list 🫶

Two characters that are aromantic(or maybe demi-romantic?) in my head are Talay from vice versa and kongthap from my love mix up, idk how to explain it honestly😅

YESSSSS!!! I think Talay is both demiromantic demisexual personally and I also think Puen is grayace! And Ida from the original my love mix up (Kongthap in thai) has been asexual demiromantic in my head since watching it 2 years ago 😫 I'm so glad to see someone else bringing it up since I look for asexual characters everywhere after discovering my own asexuality
