To be an airline pilot in the Philippines, do you have to be either a pilot from the Philippine Air Force or a closer relative of an airline pilot/Employee, PAF, or CAAP? If you aren't any of those, should you just forget becoming an Airline Pilot? Will you have the toughest time of your life landing a job as an airline pilot in the Philippines, with about 3% chance? It's not worth it? Is the Airline pilot career in the Philippines reserved for those lucky ones? Should I better save you money for a different career?
One of the biggest misconception is about understanding the meaning of the word PILOT. Nakakalungkot isipin na majority of the people ang pagkakaalam nila sa "pilot" ay "airline pilot". Becoming a pilot doesn't mean being an airline pilot. Airline pilot is just one of the many opportunities of being a pilot. A pilot is someone who is licensed to fly a plane. Any other flying activities basta licensed pilot ka ay considered kang "PILOT". When in fact di naman talaga ganun ka complicated maging pilot. Napansin ko yan sa mga PPL at CPL holder nao-overwhelm sila sa hirap about beoing a pilot, but not knowing na pilot na sila since they're already licensed.
I agree. This is true. However, considering the fact that they need money to bring food on their table cannot be taken away from them. And being an Airline Pilot gives the most out of it, over just being called “pilot”. 😊

Importantant question. does it need to be bachelor degree? I am associate in Aviation Maintenance & Technology or Avionics a 2 years course, And I want to be a airline pilot someday.
Just out of curiosity, do some PPL in Philippines fly their own private plane for business/recreation? In Indonesia, not many people do that, unlike the US or Australia. I wonder how is SEA. Because if you think about it, 2nd hand plane can be as cheap as $ 40k, and people who go to flying school pay like $20k, so not totally out of their price range.
Ang five million po ba ay one category of license lang o its all the way from private plane pilot, kasi sobrang laki kung isang category palang which is airline pilot.
philippines requirements dont make sense, you 'must' have a 4 year degree pero any course. bakit hindi na lang straight to flight school and get all licenses kung hindi din naman related to aviation previous course mo?

Yes. You can become a pilot as early as 16 years old according to CAAP. However, if you will apply to the Philippine-based Airlines, they’ll require you to have a 4-year degree course. I suggest you finish your college first. Slr. 😊
Kuya Paul, I just graduated college and I am interested in becoming an airline pilot. I have a question and a clarification: 1. In an estimate, how many years will it take to become a commercial pilot? (excluding the 4 years of undergraduate degree) 2. Based sa sinabi mo sa video, so roughly kailangan ng around 8-9 million pesos for the 40 hours flying training, 200 hours flying training, and the commercial pilot flying training? (Sorry if not specific yung names ng training, yung hours yung naalala ko haha).
May kamag-anak ka sa Airline, CAAP, PAF? Kung wala, forget it. waste of money lang if your goal is an airline Job. But in General aviation, you may still have a chance.
But there is a way, there are aviation programs abroad offering Airbus rating with guaranteed FO to build up 1000 hours FO time at a price, and never forget to do due diligence.
