An Early Morning Perambulate in a Stylish Cotswold Village

- So, today we are out and about walking in the stunning & stylish Cotswold village and civil parish of Elkstone, which is located 13 km (8 miles) north-west of Cirencester and 11 km (7 miles) south of Cheltenham. This means that Elkstone lies within the very heart of the Cotswolds - A designated Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty.
In the Domesday Book of 1086, Elkstone is listed as Elchestane. The parish church is The Church of St. John the Evangelist which was built in approximately 1160, it is a grade I listed building. According to the 2011 census the village then had a population of 248.

Such a beautiful place, OAAW. Full of very beautiful homes, spacious paddocks and great big skies, woodlands and trimmed hedges. The wind swaying the branches let me know this was a great walk. You picked the absolute perfect time to begin this walk as everything appears very lush and the sunny ending was the topping on the cake. Great walk, OAAW. My apologies for such a delayed response, the past two days have been extremely busy for me, I just managed to grab a few seconds yesterday to thank you for your kind contribution. ELKSTONE is a charming, very peaceful village and its church is very beautiful too.
The small paths and the surrounding countryside are splendid.

The sheep ignored you today, by chance could've it been the colors you wore? I darn well admire Cotswolders for placing room betwix fence and hedges so anyone can walk through their property, the trust amongst landowners and pedestrians is immeasurable. Among the loveliest homes yet on a wooden fence, a most awesome vine of exceptionally large leaves of green, yellow, purple. Grand tree tunnel that.. we have a short one at the head of our road. Me favorite time is when I can walk or drive on a blanket of autumn leaves that fly up like butterflies then settle again behind me and if I'm lucky a neighbors cat or a rabbit will scamper, squirrel will limb walk, or old snapping turtle will saunter, he's slow as he knows he's toe/foot chomper and not pestered. Oh my, the first glimpse of the church with waist high weedy flowers, tips of markers and thick tree thickets either side, ivy'd wall in foreground, a magnificent photo shot, Sir🕶️. Then the old stately trees on its grounds and after the otherworldly sky, cloudy and sun-stained. Me I'm looking at thick sea fog again from me porch. But, it'll burn off leaving dew behind. No worries. It's good today Sir🕶️, you too?
Good day, Jaclyn. Thank very much for commenting. Probably not as I tend to wear the same outfit on every walk, unless these particular sheep did not dig my funky colours! It is really nice that we have so many public footpaths here in the UK, although I have noticed a few times now that some gates to the pathways have been chained & padlocked to stop access. Your part of the world sounds equally as beautiful! I am always on the lookout to frame up a shot. Glad you are having a good day. Busy this end today, got two walks in over the weekend which should top up the supplies nicely :). Now back to the lab for some editing. Just one last thing tho...you remember the chap in the foggy forest video, if you were to name him what would you call him?.?.? Thanks for walking with me.

Off the top'o me head, alot'o countries including ours have BigFoot or Sasquatch or Yeti. This fella looks as though he'd been in a forest fire. So in UK tradition, maybe Yetiburne or Quatchburne.

It is a beautiful thing, these are rural rural places, but the strange thing is that they are abandoned houses, and there is no person in the street.

Bit too much tweeting. I like the Cotswolds. Very expensive to live. I live in south Wales in a normal town. I wonder why people don’t just walk around ordinary terraced streets, see kids playing, just ordinary.
