There's nothing wrong with turning yourself into an employee, esspecially when you're already doing something you love and are passionate about while making a 6 figure salary. Usually I'd be strongly against someone (on shark tank anyways) selling their company that they've worked so hard on......but a deal like that, that's hard to pass up.
It's also how owners avoid income tax. They pay themselves under min wage and put all the money into investments.

@@sbradshaw1886 It doesn't matter what I've invented lately. This product literally destroys vinyl each play through. Look up any review of it. The needle on it is too heavy and is forced through the grooves instead of dragged lightly through like on a normal player. This is marketed as a product to be used on vinyl that people(myself included) spend hundreds and even thousands of dollars on. This device will absolutely wreck the grooves on any record within the first couple times you play it through. Playing vinyl in general already causes minor damage but this item is the closest thing to a shredder for vinyl I've seen. It's an absolutely terrible product that should not be on shelves.
At best he's a scammer. I say that because he most likely knew of this design flaw when he sold the product to them. He did it to make a quick buck and in order to avoid losing money, they put the product on the market because people will have seen it on TV and immediately think it's worth it. This entire product is literally selling a defective product to consumers to avoid losing money.
I was like "hell nah, he's not gonna sell 100% of his company"

Plus the 5$ royalty is good, I’m not sure he can afford to wait a long time for his idea to get huge by holding his company, so by selling he doesn’t have to stress or anything and when it does finally get huge at least he’ll have a lifetime royalty on each unit.

i would ask to do a slight alteration to the proposition.
10 years choose my own hours. He is young so I get that he has other plans. but I would like to be able to guarantee I have work if needed, but also be able to be home from my kids and give my GF a chance to focus on her career. Pick kids up form schools, doctors appointments, soccer practice, nothing is strained and i can be home to cook dinner. Giving my GF a chance to relax when she gets home. Then when my kids get a little older and my GF has cemented her position, i can pic up more hours and make some more income. AND i have all this free time to work on other projects. It would lead to a hourly wage opposed to a six figure contract, but i value family over money. and over a course of ten years i may even end up making more than i would have over two years with no stress added.
